  1. Stepped up my lippless / rattlebait game. A-Jay
  2. Not a huge 'electronics guy' but I am with @Choporoz on this one. Except I'm running 10 inch screens. Not a huge difference, but between the glare and OG eyes, that's about as small a screen as I could effectively use. Especially when I am running more than 1 view. Have the original As360 at the bow as well. Still running strong. A-Jay
  3. I thought you were going to say that I've never grown up. And you'd be mostly right. 🤓 A-Jay
  4. I wouldn't take it personally, although it is a bummer and has happened on & off to me as well. We can all thank the shameless Fan boys / spammers of certain bait and trailer companies whose job it is to make life difficult for the moderators. Not certain, but there may be something in place that just dumps suspicious replies that contain whatever the buzzwords are. We don't know them so we are perceived as part of the problem. I might be way off here but that’s what I tell myself when it happenes to me. Otherwise, it's @12poundbass just randomly zapping posts again. I yell ya there's something wrong with that guy. j/k Is it May yet ? 😎 A-Jay

  7. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resources. I grew up in Everett, MA. Seems like a lifetime ago. A-Jay
  8. @Team9nine those are complete freak sized crappie AND You know you just made my day. Congrats 😉 A-Jay
  9. A couple of weeks ago I switched up my workout, mostly just to keep it fresh and offer a safe & different type of challenge. I put together a 4 Day noncompetitive Giant set split. A “giant set” is just a term used to describe performing four or more exercises in a circuit with little to no rest between exercises. No rest in this situation means the time it takes to move from one exercise to the next with perhaps a brief break of no more than a few seconds. The less the better. Noncompeting Giant Sets is when each of the exercises that make up the set target different muscle groups; that is, the exercises don’t compete for the energy of a single muscle or group of muscles. The Noncompeting giant sets I am doing is performed as a circuit, repeating it 4 times with a brief rest in between each giant set. This ensures recovery time for the various muscle groups while keeping the heart rate elevated. Still training every other day. I’ve done this in the past and do like it. Don’t feel like it’s any harder or easier than other types of training, just different. So perhaps muscular endurances vs straight up strength. Whatever that means at 65. I will admit it’s a bit tricky to video in my small home gym. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

  11. Local NWS is forecasting a warming trend over the next several days. Looks like an extended period of high temperatures in the 30s across Northern MI beginning Sunday and lasting into the middle portions of next week. A few chances for light snow showers as well this weekend into early next week. btw - so far this is the FIRST day this month (21st) that it hasn't snowed here. But it's early yet. A-Jay
  12. Hello John and welcome to Bass Resource ~ I have no idea why those bass stopped biting. But after catching them for many years, every week for 6 months, 4/5/6 lb bass and 100 fish days, surely you must have some clue right ? A-Jay
  13. Not sure how I missed this one. Totally Classic. And while I absolutely love the whole robe idea, I think all I really need to wear is the belt . . . . #coolbreeze 🤓 A-Jay
  14. Fostering dogs for the local animal shelter and even previous owners, is very rewarding. No doubt it’s a big commitment and while I wouldn’t call it a lot of work, there needs to be a mindset & a certain level of determination to be even remotely successful. Some fosters last a few days, others can be a several weeks and we’ve even done one or two that lasted over a year. Each deal is different, there’s almost always some twists & turn along the way. And being adaptable is key. We’ve been doing it for a long time and I wish we’d taken more pictures. For the folks who care to, we always keep in touch with the new owners that these animals are re-homed to and so that’s pretty cool. We started with mostly larger northern breeds as that’s what we were most familiar with. But have since branched out to several others. Managing our own pack while ‘training’ an often mostly feral canine can be daunting. But we’re set up for it here and have a ‘system’ that we’ve developed over the years that works for us but more importantly, eventually places these special dogs in a safe & thriving new home. The New Owner smile when they first meet and then drive off is almost always a watery eyes thing. Social media has improved this entire process tremendously as we are able to reach perspective owners far & wide. People are often very willing to travel several hours for the right dog: I know we have many times. Just goes to show how important that bond can really be. Finally there’s Foster Failures. It happens and there’s two kinds. First one is we bring in an animal that it just too much. Meaning they either need training beyond our abilities, Or turn out to be dangerous or even flat out crazy. Like people, there are crazy dogs. We tap out of those early. The other ‘failure’ is when we fall madly in love with the dog and just keep it. Had a few of those. We love them all, but have learned to respect the process and hold back a little of ourselves for our own dogs. The satisfaction then comes when they leave with their new owners. Has to be that way and it took a while to figure that one out. Either way every dog always takes a piece of our hearts with them. Below are pictures of some of these dogs . . . . . More pics in post below A-Jay So many memories . . . . A-Jay We are sort of due for a few more foster deals. We do most of our training & socialization outside, but this winter has been brutally cold and super snowy. We'll see what the summer brings us. A-Jay
  15. Like living in a snow globe. It snow's here with the sun out ? Notes straight from the local NWS forecast desk. Our first measurable snow of the winter was on Nov. 20th, and kicked off quite the run of snow here! Out of the last 93 days, there have been EIGHTY-SIX (86) days with observed snow... including a perfect 20/20 in February thus far! The season total stands at 180.9" as of 7am today. A-Jay
  16. Despite February being a "short" month, Some of the past few days have seemed partially long. Last winter we had no snow and this winter we have all the snow. I'm at the 50 days and a wake up mark for projected open water bassing. However, I'm pretty sure very few folks living here would actually agree with that. A-Jay
  17. Beyond Bass Fishing..... What Defines You.....???? Several years ago, I came across an interview done by Stephen Colbert. It really hit me pretty hard. This is part of it. "To exist is a gift, but existence is inseparable from suffering. We don’t get to choose only the joy and discard the pain—gratitude demands all of it. The heartbreak, the loss, the struggle—they don’t just happen to us; they shape us. We try to escape suffering, yet it is through suffering that we become the most human we can be. It teaches us love, resilience, and the depth of our own existence. Maybe the question isn’t why we suffer, but who we become because of it." A-Jay

Kya is loving the deep snow. Her new favorite game is to hunt down 4 or 5 Chuckit balls heaved around the yard. She get's very focused as she searches, locates and eventually digs them up. A-Jay
  19. What is this work thing you speak of ? A-Jay

  23. Hello @Pgiem13 and welcome to Bass Resource ~ Interesting first post. My thoughts are that when it comes to controversial technology like LiveScope, ActiveTarget, and Mega Live, there will never be a true right or wrong. Making it an Unwinnable Battle. Question for you . . . Why do you care ? A-Jay
  24. The local near record snow fall piled on the roof, finally breached the vent/exhaust pipes for the home and water heater as well as the plumbing/septic vent pipes. None of that is a good thing. So up I went. Of course the wind chills had to be below zero just to keep it interesting. Only took a few minutes to clear them out. Hardest part was getting up & down off the roof. My powers of levitation are not what they used to be . . . btw- check yours if there's a need. You'll be glad you did. A-Jay

Congrats on the employment shift. Can't imagine for 1 minute that you'll be Less busy than you were before. Perhaps consider moving NOW, and getting settled in, while it's not yet turned into what it's going to be. Good Luck A-Jay
