  1. Not sure. This is where I started at. https://www.caregiver.va.gov/support/support_benefits.asp A-Jay
  2. This unit is less than that in length & weight. While I am looking forward to throwing this one around. It will be more of a 'let's see what happens' deal than anything else. Who knows, I might get surprised. A-Jay
  3. Given the current state of affairs regarding Lynn's decline in health and the outlook that accompanies that, last week I applied for the Veteran Administrations Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC). It was a tough decision for me. Admittedly the reality of it is hard to put into words. Very thankful that the VA does recognize the important role of family caregivers in supporting the health and wellness of Veterans. So far the folks we've been in contact with have made the process fairly painless, and that is most definitely a relative term. There are several steps along the way to where 'eligibility' is determined. So far we are about half way through. I am looking forward to the support and the training they offer as well as knowing that I can be the best version of me for Lynn in these trying times. Stay Healthy & Safe. A-Jay
  4. Giant Set Workout Day 2 ~ Felt pretty good during this one. Not always the case but when it is, I'm already looking forward to preparing for and hammering out the next one. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  5. Good Luck. Not Tigers, but there's a few musky lurking around the same areas of Lake Menderchuck as well. A-Jay
  6. The only time I'm really able to effectively target the bigger pike is when them come shallow(er) early & late season. Seems they follow the food (carp in this case) into the same water's I'm fishing for brown bass. So 10-12 ft less with surface water temps @65-ish. Fishing over submerged weeds and especially in & around the bare spots (sand) on a large weed flat is almost always part of the deal. Be real interesting if a big brown bass takes a poke at this thing. A-Jay
  7. You Sir are CORRECT. That is exactly where I first saw this rig. These are #5 Blue Fox spinners. Initially tried them with a Sebile Magic swimmer with mixed results. Expect the paddle tail to be better. A-Jay
  8. A plus size take on an old favorite. I'm calling it the Pike Beater. A-Jay
  9. Sweet ! Congrats on the new rig. When the opportunity presents itself, perhaps you could drop a pic or two along with the particulars here . . . https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/25485-show-your-ride/page/74/ A-Jay
  10. This BR family is a circle of strength and passion. With every new member the circle grows larger. Every bit of sharing and even crisis faced together, makes the circle stronger. "Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city." — George Burns Or in our case, just about every city. A-Jay
  11. With as many high speed problem solving ideas presented to the OP here, if the casting distance is not resolved by now, there can only really be one cause left. That rig is cursed and or possessed by the devil monkey. Perhaps consider an Exorcism. May need to be performed by either KVD or Tommy Biffle. The evicting of demons, jinns, or other spiritual entities from a rod & reel is serious business. Good Luck and stay safe. A-Jay
  12. @Will1248 I rarely use "follow up baits". If & when a bass 'misses' a moving bait, I call it "a Poke", as long as I do not believe she felt the steel, I throw the same bait right back at her. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. But I'm for sure able to get a bait back out there much faster with what I'm already throwing, than putting it down, picking up another rig and making that exact cast. Besides, she deserves a second shot anyway and so do I. Good Luck & Fish Hard A-Jay https://youtu.be/oIoNOk6kf8o?feature=shared&t=301
  13. Giant Set Workout Day 1. Seems like the Time change always jacks with me and my training for a few days. This was one of those. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  14. So there is a Lake Menderchuck in New Jersey ! I knew it . . . . Fish Hard & Good Luck 😉 A-Jay
  15. My question would be, how long did it take to eliminate every other bait, before the BangOLure proved to be the only effective presentation ? A-Jay
  16. 238 days and a wake up. Looking forward to whatever comes our way. btw- I'm already packed. A-Jay
  17. Spring-like warmth and increasingly breezy today, with much of northern lower Michigan set to push daily record high temps. The Spring fun and games come to a screeching halt later tonight into Tuesday, though, as a cold front sends temps plummeting with a sharp chill. Weekend's looking like a bunch of warm-ish rain. which is ALWAYS welcome this time of year. My roof had been enjoying a major reduction in overall metric tonnage. So that makes be smile. 32 days and a wake up still looks mostly improbable. But we'll see. I'll be ready either way . . . . A-Jay
  18. Everyone they asked, commentators included, " After a few great days on the water, why did it turn so tough?" I love when they all said "I don't know". Mostly because I never do either. A-Jay
  19. 5 minutes left ~ one scoreable bass separates 1st & 2nd place. Oh my. Any cast could be the The One. A-Jay
  20. I am quite a bit north of you, and my target bass are all brown; especially early season. While a jerkbait is by far my favorite and most productive way to catch plus size fish, where & when is really the secret sauce, not the lure. Finding them is generally considerably harder, than getting them to eat once I do. Something to consider perhaps. Good Luck A-Jay
  21. First thing I do is to eliminate the word quick and more importantly the detrimental mindset that comes with it. There's no time limit for me on effectively covering water. I look for clean water and usually in the wind. I'll fish presentations that match the surface water temps and the mood of the fish as it results to the water temps. The presence of some type of bait is helpful. A-Jay
  22. Used be a TW deal. That's how I found out about it. Last couple came from ebay I think. So propably not state side. When I find it, I stock up. But it lasts a while which is good. A-Jay
  23. I use ZPI A-Jay
  24. Giant Set Workout Day 4 ~ I was initially considering heading down to senior center today hoping to get in on a few rounds of pickle ball. Last minute, I switched lanes and hammered out some resistance training instead. #borninfiftynine. A-Jay
  25. I'm sorry but the "Score Tracker" graphic on the right side of the Live screen view is just too Big and really distracting. A-Jay
