Not sure how I stumbled across these forums but it’s like stepping into a world of like-minded fishing fanatics. There people with some many ideas, trick, and a multitude of knowledge outside of pro anglers and YouTubers. Just a plethora of hobbyist that just love to fish! I’ve seen people asking for charters in certain areas, to determining what kind of rod setup is recommended for a certain approach to certain waters and/or species.

With that being said, I’m just another average angler from South Carolina here to gather more knowledge and insight on my region and bass fishing period.

Have a good evening everyone. I’m glad to be here. Casket out.

Welcome aboard.. Great intro.

@CasketSix  Welcome!  Pros and Youtubers are mostly trying to sell you something (not all).  With BR you get hardcore, honest advice and opinions.  I love it and have learned so much since joining.

Welcome aboard! 🤙

You've actually stumbled upon something akin to AA but

for fishermen afflicted by the Bait Monkey... :D Just kidding.

Sort of.

Welcome to BR!

BR is an enigma. Years ago when everything was shiny and new in the Internet, forums like these flourished. But social media and a lack of good moderation doomed many of them. Most forums such as BR are now distant memories of a golden age.

There are many great things about BR, but the best of the best is the moderation. It keeps trolls and troublemakers at bay and allows others to discuss things without  being derided, insulted, etc.  And there is no “gang of cronies” that can do whatever they want but deny others the same.

Well, I say moderation, which is true. But the real truth is that this site is the vision of Glenn May. He keeps this site the way that it is. I’ve said before that this site is the best-run forum I’ve ever been a member of, and it still is. I have learned things here that have helped my bass fishing tremendously. You will, too.

Welcome Aboard , Best forums on the planet

I second what @BrianMDTX wrote. The mods do a great job of keeping us focused on fishing. The membership is great too, with plenty of seasoned anglers happy to help.

Welcome! BR is like a throw back to the good ol' days of quality hobby and advice forums. I bring it up even to non-anglers as an example of what an Internet community should be. Hope you enjoy your time here.

What an explanation! I understand the social media thing but IMO that’s more so a popularity contest. Besides YouTube I don’t really see many other ways to interact with other anglers. Maybe Facebook now that I think about it. Anyways, thank you, Glenn may, and the mods haha

@CasketSix Welcome neighbor! What part of SC might you be from? I live in Kershaw, about halfway between Lancaster and Camden along Hwy 521.
