And this is how it went. It was a gorgeous warm flat calm morning - and I mean Zero Wind and BUGS ! Lots of Bugs. Started out throwing a 3/8 oz wiggle wagon. I caught a pike. Then I caught another pike. Then another one. And another one And another one And another one And another one And another one, Well, I think you got the idea. Went through 4 ft of AFW wire, 4 baits (skirts chewed off) and 1/2 dozen Zako trailer on top of that. Did I mention it was a pike day ? Good times. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Made it to Workout Day 5 some how. The rows, press & curls were OK but the core work was definitively a little brutal. Taking two days off. Be back in the home gym on the 17th. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Plan on being at my favorite spot on Lake Menderchuck at first light tomorrow morning. It's been a while, but I think I remember how to cast. Guess we'll find out. And yes, I do have a mouse in my pocket. A-Jay

Nicely Done. First time for me seeing 2 muskie in one net. Pretty cool. So is it fish of 10,000 casts or fish of a dozen crappie near an oak tree ? You decide. Congrats and good luck the rest of the week. A-Jay

spare trailer tire
All of this make perfect sense to me and perhaps any anyone else who works on eliminating risk and not just trying to manage it. btw - consider carrying a few spare trailer wheel lug nuts with you on the road. Don't ask me why A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Workout Day 4 on this super sunny, summer-like Monday. Still feeling my way through this workout. Especially since I haven't done a few of these movements for a couple of months. Pretty sure I'll feel the results of that tomorrow even though I tried my best to restrain myself. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Do you ever go big?
Does an A-Rig Count ? I am able to go with a 5 bait unit here. Swimmers are usually between 3.8 and 4.3 inch models. Late summer it does some damage. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Workout Day 3 today and it was challenging. Titled this thread Working to Stay Lean 7 years ago. The past few months I've been trying to keep the needle pointing in that direction. But sometimes that needle has a mind of it's own. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Mentioned this is the other work boot thread. We've been using Sno-Seal for a long time. Protects our leather boots from rain, sun, snow, and salt. Simple, safe and effective. A-Jay

Say "Good Night" Dick . . . . . .
The clean up and repair of the wide spread destruction of our property at the hands of the early April Ice storm, has moved to the front of our priority line, placing any fishing days somewhere else down the list. Only been out on the water a few times and that less fishing trend, is bound to continue for some time. Might be able to do a few shorter local trips but long distance hikes are not in the cards right now. Realistically, August might be the next time I get a shot at any more trophy Brown Bass. Still hoping to float around and get my line pulled a few times between now & then, but when I look at what we had here before the storm, compared to what we've got going on now, it's depressing. We've been hacking away at it daily, but some days it seems like a drop in the bucket. Going to be some time before I can come to grips with just what a jacked up scene this whole deal has turned out to be. Still waiting for my insurance company to give us back some of that $$$ we've been faithfully throwing their way for the past 25 years. More to follow 🙁 A-Jay

Jack Up a Boat/Trailer (How to / Safety / Equipment)
You may get some different response here on what's 'Correct' and what's 'Not". First, trailer jack wheel replacement can be effected while the rig is connected to the hitch on your tow vehicle. When I need to do Trailer wheel or tire mainainance, I use a 3 ton hydraulic floor jack, and Jack Stands My only real safe choice is to lift at the axle, as close to the inside wheels as I can. Jack stands are positioned there. Which reminds me, I'm due for a bearing re-pack & new tires next summer. Good Luck A-Jay
