What's your preferred method? I've always used those little afresh tablets, wondering if there's a better way.

I use a cup of vinegar & a cup of baking soda twice a year.

Same time, high/hot cycle.

We fill the machine's 'Bleach' dispenser with distilled white vinegar Every Load.

(we Rarely ever use bleach)

Keep any thing from ever 'building' up.

And rinses completely out of whatever is being washed.

Clothes come out clean & fresh smelling every time.

We use vinegar in the dishwasher too. Helps with hard water build up & leaves class cleaner without cloudiness.

But I'm the dishwasher here,

so downing that first glass full might be a little rugged.

I've seen what kind of shape your in which means you have great mental strength so you can get er down! Besides think of how flushed out and clean you'll be.

So I tried the typical.cleaning tablet and there was still some musty moldy funk smell...tried the vinegar baking soda combo, seems to have worked like a charm.

THE worst thing to add to your washing machine is liquid fabric softener. That’s what gums up the works.

Because of that I do my own laundry and the wife does hers.

I don't like greasy feeling clothes from fabric softeners and smelling like a runway model. 😁

I do all the laundry  in our house and solved those issues.

Nope - don’t know Morse code. We weren’t smart enough in the army. As an infantry guy, I just had to be able to count to about 28 as I didn’t load my mags full…
