  1. Congrats ~ And I have to say - that was over Quick ~ One reply. A-Jay
  2. Dragging a tube is a technique that has been around a long time. I'm usually doing it for Smallies but as you found out - they appeal to the green bass as well. Congrats on putting some in the boat - it's been a tough couple of weeks here. A-Jay
  3. You're HIGH ~ That whole line of SMH rods is Worthless ~ The Uranium Line - now you're onto something . . . . Probably be great for night fishing too Here's the new Frabil Nuc Suit ~ A-Jay
  4. I live & fish in Northern MI ~ Lately a chatter bait / vibrating jig has been very good for bass and espeially good on Pike here. The Strike King Rage Blade in both the 3/8 & 1/2 oz sizes with a swim bait type trailer works great. The Lake Fork Boot Tail Live Magic Shad, Reactions Innovations Skinny Dipper and the Berkly Havoc Grass Pig are all great options. Pretty Easy bait to fish too - just cast it out, reel it back and Hold On ~ Good Luck A-Jay
  5. If you were fishing where I've been at, I'd tell ya the Pike ate them all. A-Jay
  6. Oh Yea ~ well I caught my PB on a Pink Hula Popper Trolled down 4 colors on lead core line on an ultra light noodle rod, only I didn't weight it or measure it even on account that I had forgot my scale & my pants as well. And it was cold. A-Jay

  16. Rather than living with it - when you need it - try the American fishing wire product mentioned above - It works very well - cost a bit more but it is very durable & it lasts & lasts. Was effective just yesterday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_45ZECs3Vbc A-Jay

  19. First off - Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I have quit a bit of experience fishing in waters that have a healthy population of toothy fish. You have two choices - use a thin wire and eliminate bite offs or use anything else or nothing and continue to loose tackle & fish. American Wire Surflon Micron Supreme, Cortland Toothy Critter and a product called Not2Kinky are all very thin flexible wire you can tie to your main line to make your own bite proof "Leader". I use the American Fishing wire product the most and believe that the possibility of not getting bites out weights the bite offs. I still catch plenty of bass with the wire in all but The Most Finesse type situations. Good Luck A-Jay
  20. Great Bass ~ Congrats A-Jay

  24. Got out this morning looking for a few late summer bass. This place like most of the water up here has a healthy pike population as well. Accordingly, I'm rigged up with wire - no way around it. The bass on this day were pretty scarce but the pike were being very cooperative, A SK Rage blade with swim bait trailer was doing most of the damage. About 3 pm after a "Half Cast" (code for professional overrun) My bait got crushed - Big Pike. I was anchored I thought I was going to need to "Chase" it but I did not. I don't think the fish realized it was hooked at first. Came to the boat relatively fast and then into the net. Then it went a little nuts. Managed to get some of the fight and the release on video. Didn't weight it and it was longer than my 36 inch boat Tape. My guess is something close to 38 inches - but really fat. The trailer was hanging out of it's gill while I held it up for the camera. I only managed a couple of bass but this Beast Made My Day. A-Jay
