  6. I wouldn't get too upset. Rods break during shipping - it happens. And the more you do it - the more you realize that some companies pack their products better than others. Once you find out which ones do - these are the people that you deal with in the future. The others are left behind. You'll be able to get a new one quite easily, but if it's prepared & shipped in the same manner, you could see similar results. A-Jay

  10. I remember that bait too but not the name. It was flat and rigged backwards so that it would fall away from the user - I had them too and never did a thing with one; mostly because I wasn't fishing it right. I bet I could hammer a few with it now - flipping it at docks. A-Jay

  22. " A Lure You Were Disappointed In After Using It" I'll admit to having a few baits that fall into this category. But I bet it pales in comparison to the number of baits in my box that are routinely disappointed in ME. A-Jay
  23. I have a "modest" collection of rods that span a few decades - (hey I've been fishing a while) and the newer small guide sticks are nice. But they are problematic at times. This trend has even carried over to spinning rods, which makes no sense to me. The equipments design really benefits from a from a free flow of line during the cast - choking it down right at the collector and then through out the length of the rod, seems seriously counter productive. I'm all for advances in sport, but I'm not a rod builder or a casting scientists, I'm just a guy who like to fish. So perhaps I'm missing something here. A-Jay
  24. Interesting - If you don't mind me asking, How, Where & When did you happen to come by this information ? Please pm me if need be ~ Thanks in advance A-Jay
  25. I think it's interesting how simply because production rod companies have decided that we should all have "Micro" sized guides, we've had to come up with all kinds of new smaller / slimmer braid to leader knots to accommodate the reduction in guide size. I'm not totally convinced that any actual "weight reduction" & / or increased sensitivity realized with this change is worth the complications it brings. At No Point do I ever remember thinking "Man, the guides on this rod are just too heavy". Did we change just for the sake of change ? A-Jay
