Swivels On Crank Bait?
Never a swivel but yes to just a clip - about half the time. Swivels use is reserved for when I want to reduce line twist - usually from spoons, or when throwing a fluke on spinning gear. A-Jay

Weighted Wacky Worm
When presenting a wacky rigged bait in & around shallow shoreline or mid-depth cover, the Revenge Flippin Wackers Jighead gets the job done. The extra-strong Mustad Ultra Point hook allows me to step up my line size. This changes the rig from what's routinely a finesse deal to one that's more suited to the conditions. A-Jay

Favorite Clearwater Smallie Spinnerbait.
A 3/4 oz or 1 oz white shirt with undersized white willow blades - But you need to burn it back to the boat just under the surface - And when I say burn it - I mean like work up a sweat - out of breath burn it. And don't forget the trailer hook . . . . A-Jay

Gotta Be
Hello Bass Resource Forum Members. Although most All of you are at least vaguely familiar with me, please allow me to formally introduce myself. I’ve been around for as long as fishermen have been fishing. I am very hard to see and even more difficult (if not impossible) to meet. It is widely believed that I can be found under logs or docks, in the weeds or on the flats. Where ever I may be, I have quite a following. People spend an unbelievable amount of time, money & effort just looking for me. I’ve been called a lot different things. But sometimes when fisherman are floating through my area, just before they cast, I hear them say “Gotta Be one right there”; so I think that’s my name. Gotta Be. Anyway, just wanted to stop by to say hello and to let you guys know that I am out there, somewhere. So keep looking and if you’re really lucky, perhaps one day we’ll meet in person. Doubtfully ~ Gotta Be

What Happened To The Best Baits Ever
Today's Manufacturers have done a most excellent job of turning the sport of bass fishing into Annually changing Fads. From boats & motors, to rods, reels & line, to hard lures & soft plastics; whatever the "In Thing" is at the last Icast or caught some fish at the last Bassmaster Classic, there's a perception (based on advertising) that this is the way to go and if you don't have it - you're missing out on bass. So what happened to the best baits ever ~ nothing. The seasoned anglers are still throwing them. There's all different types of Hard Baits, Soft Baits, Swim Baits, Umbrella Rigs, Jigs, Frogs, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, & Spoons and whichever bait the bass are biting that day, well, that's the Best Bait Ever. Deeper Running 3Xd?
The buoyant properties of a bait are altered when adding weight to it. So if you need the lure to float back up & out of danger then weighing it down might not be the answer. Additionally, there are other moving baits you can use that are effective in heavy cover but don't have two treble hooks hanging off them. Right of the top of my head, Swimbaits, Spinnerbaits and Swim jigs come to mind. And if you're set on throwing a crank bait - a square bill could work as well. The 6th Sense Crush Flat X75 is killer. Also as mentioned above - The Bomber Fat Free Shad Deep Diving Square bill is an option, but it's a larger profile lure. A-Jay

Deeper Running 3Xd?
I've been using STORM Suspendots and SuspenStrips Weights to accomplish that very thing for years. Easy on & easy off - simply ensure the bait is clean & dry. My usual spot is Center line on the bottom of the bait. You can play with the baits running & resting posture (nose down or level) by where the strips / dots are positioned. Close to or on the bottom of the bill puts nose down and seems to help with depth and more toward the middle of the lure often aids in leveling or balancing out the bait. Good Luck A-Jay http://www.basspro.com/Storm-Suspendots-and-SuspenStrips-Weights/product/202/

What Is The Lever On This Reel For?
I think it's a Casting assist deal. You can use your index finger to hook the line while at the same time pulling that lever toward the rod which will flip open the bail. Allows the user to cast with one motion. In other words, one does not need to use the other hand to flip open the bail. I had a low end Shimano several years ago that had it - the lever worked OK but the rest of the reel wanged . . . . A-Jay
