  6. so superspook and i went out yesterday morning to Lake Frederick. Got there at 6 and noticed that the bait shop didnt open till 8 so we couldnt rent a boat so we worked the shore to the left and around to the first cove until 8 had 1 bite in 2 hours. After we got our boat we flipped brush hogs in the 14ft tall grass they have everywhere and only managed to pull 1 2lber out of there. we must have tried everything from cranks, jerks, different plastics, spinners, jigs, shakey heads, sinkos wacky rigged and only pull that 1 fish from 6am to 130pm. this lake is by far the hardest lake ive ever fished and there were a crap ton of boats in the water...and lots and lots of tall grass probably wont go there again until the water is much warmer and in the middle of the week when billy bob and his 20 cousins dont have there boats in the water. Anyone else having any luck at this lake this year? or is it a lost cause?
  7. nice, what about the G Loomis GL2 series? would both rods be about the same? both are $130-$155 range...
  8. just to keep it simple i'm looking at the Sahara Spinning 4000FB Reel and looking to spend up to $150 for a Rod, basically looking for an all purpose rod for pretty much everything and just trying to upgrade from my current set up. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. Same, i'm boatless but down to night fish whenever...
  10. I haven't been on this forum very long or in the online bass community very long but this argument is going to be never ending, there are two sides to it and some people like to share locations and some people don't it is what it is, accept it and move on. I for one have no problem giving reports of where i'm going or have been, i'm moving to Denver in two months and i've been trying to hit up every possible spot i can up until i move so everyone's reports and info have helped me a ton and i thank you. thats exactly why i gave a report of beaver dam my very first post to help out and give basic info about a location in our area. if someone does not want to share a spot with me i could care less i have google. If anyone wants to go fishing over the next 7 weeks PM me. only places ive gone are Mercer, Braddock, Beaver dam, Ashburn Village, Huntsman and Burke lake and im trying to hit up some more spots before i head out to paradise =)
  11. Hey paul Superspook and i were out there saturday morning fishing the north side/dam, was that you with someone else in the green kayak? spook caught 2 with a sinko over the covered reeds/grass in that north east cove right around 620am after that we had 0 luck...i think it will be nice if the water stays up and the grass starts growing in the coves...
  12. they just look nasty...bet they do taste good though...my old manager used to have two and they used to knock cinder blocks off the top of the aquarium top and jump out and go all over his house
