I Have Noticed Something.
I carry up to five rod setups sometimes. The difference is the rod length, the action and the line test. Some lures require a lighter line so they will run at the correct depth and action. My topwater setup is the strongest. Bb

Please Explain The Difference In Reel Ratio's???
I understand about the gear ratios and line speed. What I didn't understand which lures there used for. Since I'm putting together my rod setups I'd like to get it right the first time. I'm fine tuning everything now, since I'm getting past the basics of using one speed for everything. Thanks, bb

Chinese Swimbaits
I looked at them but they come in assorted colors. I like purchasing one color in each package. I have most of the newer stuff here that you guys talk about. I also use the yum money minnow plus the swimsuits I been using for many years from Wal-Mart there some off the wall brand. They do work great. I notice the blue glimmer is a hot color here. I'm not frugal when it comes to lures.

Weird Pond?
I would suggest trying some crawfish colored crankbaits. Like the bomber shallow A in redapplecraw, or a rapala original floater F7 in blue or black. A mepps Anglia inline spinner #3 silver or gold blade with a brown bucktail. Try bouncing a jig too. I would try a ritual of lures till on pays off. Now if your looking for bigger bass try fishing before first light till the sun comes up. I find these bigger gals up against the shoreline ambushing the baitfish looking for an easy meal. But remember to be very stealthy and quiet noise wise. These big gals get spooked really easy at the slightest noise out of there norm. You may want to try one early trip with no yak too. The quieter the better and walk softly up to your fishing spot and don't step on any surface rocks on the path to get there. When we step on the surface rocks the vibration goes directly into the water sounding the alarm. These bigger fish are very smart. When the bass bite is on with the smaller fish and it slows down upside your lure. I find the bigger fish are there but won't strike the smaller lure.

Berkley Lightning Shock Rod
Thick cover? Sounds like swim jigs to me.

Zoom Magnum Ol Monster 12"
No snow there yet? Kidding I used the 12" culprit worm in black shad. Just a hook with no weight. As far as what size fish will hit it any size fish will. I caught a 13" pickerel on this 12" worm. But I believe in big bait big fish.

I like it and it ties easy too. I have some vicious line that I wet when I knot it. But I'll buy more yozuri now. Bb

Yozuri Flurocarbon Copolymere Line??
I just read my yozuri spools of line they say it a flurocarbon copolymere line? I been using it. I did order a copolymer line. It has no noticeable stretch like mono has. What is it a mix of flurocarbon and copolymer? Bb

Quantum Code Red Baitcaster Arrived
My new Quantum Code Red Bait casting reel arrived here. It has a totally different brake set up than the magnetic brakes. It looks good. On sale from $99 to around $50 it seemed like a good buy. This one is the 6.2:1 ratio. I did also order the code red in the 7.1:1 ratio too. For using different lures or burning spinnerbaits. It does feel a tad smoother over my cheaper bait casters. You guys are breaking my frugal habits a little at a time now. Bigbill

Why Are There So Many Men's And Women's Tournaments Separate?
My point in my post is I wonder if there are any men fisherman who are reluctant to fish with women. Like my son's girlfriend riding with the guys who were reluctant about baby sitting my son and his girlfriend. Once they found out they could keep up flying thru the woods they were accepted. Would a woman fisherman be accepted as a non boater in a tornie with the men? Someday?

Do Bass Behave Different In The Rain?
If you time it right you can't believe the bass feeding frenzy you will see. In the low light over cast conditions I use the joesfly 1/4oz bass size in firetiger apache. It's a blend of chartreuse and glo colors. I also use the mepps #3 Anglia silver or gold blade with the brown bucktail. My third hottest lure at this feeding frenzy is a REBEL BIGCLAW Crawfish crankbait that dives to 10' it's also a floater. If you reel it faster it bounces off the bottom. Once it's down to the bottom I reel it slower. I wonder how many others here have witnessed this bass feeding frenzy with the weather front along with the moon phases. ????

Any Other Reels Like This?
That new Chinese bait caster reel I been playing with looks similar to a Garcia bait caster reel. Either they cloned it or manufactured it for Garcia then went out on there own after they got the machinery and the experience. I have two exactly the same spinning reels, the parts are interchangeable. One says Okuma on it while the other says Viva on it. I'm not sure who made what but there both the same exact reel down to even the color too.

Do Bass Behave Different In The Rain?
My most productive lure in the rain/overcast conditions Is the inline spinner in the light rain. The heavy rain shuts the bass down in the smaller bodies of water do to the bacteria it store a up from the bottom. This changes the PH in the water. I noticed they stay tight lipped for up to two days. If you follow the moon phases and watch the weather fronts just before it rains try to go fishing about 4 hours before it rains. I notice the bass will put the feed bag on if this is timed 4 days before and four days after a full Moon phase. Any approaching weather fronts during this 8 days of the full Moon phase go fishing just before it rains. Me and my son were using the mepps Anglias and had constant doubles on for about an hour of fishing. Now during the light rain during this 8 days of the moon phase the bass will turn on too. I caught 19 bass non stop action during this time. During a lull in the light rain storm. When it lets up for a while between showers go fishing too. Again timing the weather front with a light rain when it stops for a while. During this time I landed about 50 to 60lbs of bass in an hour and a half. Sorry but I can't pin down when this feeding frenzy with bass will happen but it's when the full Moon 8 day phase is timed with a weather front. I just can't nail it down when it will occur. It's no fluke I've seen the deer on the move at this time too. I was catching non stop bass and happen to feel something looking at me. There was a doe with two games standing there staring at me. It seems all the animals are on the move too besides the fish.

Why Are There So Many Men's And Women's Tournaments Separate?
Like I said before my son's girlfriend sent a lot of guys home crying when she beat them on the dirtbikes. My son pushed her to the next level of riding. I had so much fun just watching her beat everyone. She enjoyed it too. She was a looker, a heart breaker and a ego buster. I admire any woman who pushes herself beyond the norm for success. I support any woman who I can help out too, I like to see the barriers removed then they realize there are no limits as to what they can do. Some women and guys think there are barriers and limitations. All it takes is motivation and we can do anything we put our minds too. Once they get going failure isn't an option. When I was offered by my buddy for my son to ride with a few top off road racers in the northeast Sara wanted to ride too. My buddy just shook his head, the other riders thought they were going to baby sit her. I told my buddy to trust me that she can ride. As the trail narrowed she was side by side with one of the top riders hammering the bike to beat him into the tighter trail. My buddy was behind them. He told me the guy stalled his bike after she flew by him and went into the trail. He said he seen the guys jaw drop out of his helmet because he couldn't believe what a "girl" just did to him. Back at the car taking a break they all told Sara she should be racing. And she seems to be good enough to forget racing with women and race with the men's class. Sara had the drive and heart of a lion. I love to watch these women succeed. I was proud of her. I wish my son had 50% of her heart, motivation and drive. Sara would go fishing with us too. And just as competitive too. Too bad I've only seen and met a few women like this. I think it's driven into them not to go out of the norm, to take a back seat. A woman has to be really tough to compete in a man's world. But when they do there awesome and my hats off to them. Bb

Scared To Put Spinners In My Box
They offer strike king mini spinnerbaits for under $2. I think there only 1/8oz. There perfect for shore fishing.

Scared To Put Spinners In My Box
Look for a Wal-Mart clearance box somewhere on one of the bait racks on the floor. They seem to put all there stuff they want to get rid of like that. The last time I really shopped there they had all the riverside plastics on clearance in a box on the floor.

Can You Help Me???
Save your money any decent strike king polarized glasses will work. You just need plastics, cranks etc. I only fish the smaller places.

Scared To Put Spinners In My Box
Are you talking about the inline spinners like the Mepps? These kill my being frugal and cheap when I purchase them. But the mepps #3 Anglia silver blade with the brown bucktail is a bass magnet. The strike king inline is another one in silver blade with a black bucktail. There are new inline spinners being offered by Joe's Flys there his new 1/4oz bass size. His combination of spin fly and inline spinner is a bass killer. I use his colors in Blackgnat, glo-tiger, firetiger-apache, mellow yellow, & white Miller. The blackgnat, firetiger apache are good to start off with. If your talking about spinnerbaits I'm wrong then, sorry. If your talking about spinnerbaits my first one was a mini 1/8 or 3/16oz with a white skirt that I change to the blue glimmer skirt, with single silver or gold Colorado blade with a mister twister split double tail grub used as a trailer with a trailer hook. Once you put on and adjust the trailer so it runs straight your good to go. One shot of yum shad scent and hang on. The bass will try to rip it off your line. After success with the smaller spinnerbaits I use the Mann's classic spinnerbaits now. I use the 1/4oz white spinner bait with the two Colorado or Indiana blades, I'm not sure what blades they are but there gold. They only come with one style blade. I set them up the same as my smaller spinnerbaits. My two hottest spinner bait colors are white only and hot chartreuse. The blue glimmer skirt rocks in place of the white skirt. Bb Bb

Dilemma On A Weekend Sale! What To Do!
All I can say to do is go with your first gutt feeling. If I second guess myself I pass and wait till I decide. I don't like to pass up any sales "if" it's what I want. I don't substitute a sale item for what I really want. Or I kick myself later when I end up with two anyway.think it over. Bigbill

Yum Money Minnow???
The hook size depends on the kind of money minnow your using. There are fat body ones and thinner ones I use the screw in hooks with no weight so I can watch it work closer to the surface. I twitch it like a dying minnow. I did have a lot of strikes with no hook ups with it. To me it's an awesome bait if I can come up with a simple trailer hook for it. Bb I did have one hook up with a very big fish in November.

What Action Are Berkely Cherrywood Hds?
I'd look at fishandsave right now they have some rods you maybe looking for discounted so you get a better quality rod within your price range. Just take a look. Bb I wish the big tackle sellers would offer us bass resource members here a discount. Even a weekend of 5% \ 10% off or a free shipping weekend for us would be ok. Or even a holiday sale like Mike at Siebert Outdoors did for us.

Please Explain The Difference In Reel Ratio's???
I'm sure I'm not alone but I notice my arm is sore after making many casts with the 6,3:1 spinning reel I setup for my spinnerbaits. I thought it meant burning the spinnerbaits not my arm. I was in shape at this time and could lift/ bench 400+lbs. I ran a 25lb 100cc chainsaw 8hrs/7days aweek. I'm not a light weight. I went into the engineering job for the $$. Enough said. I'm sure there are others out there who want to know this too. Why do we have the reel ratios of 5.1:1, 6.2:1, & 7.1:1? What lures do you use with them? Which is better if we were going to buy one speed? Which is easier to operate a 7.2:1 spinning reel or a bait caster reel? What's the difference in fishing between a bait caster or spinning reel? How far will the designs of our new reels in the near future will go? I'm thinking a gear setup were we can quickly change the gear ratios at a milk seconds notice. I think we will see 3 speed reels someday. Maybe a mechanical advantage at the handle too so the operator doesn't feel the increase of the speed in turning the crank. I'm thinking of replacing the new brake shoe and old magnetic brake system with and adjustable governor fly weight spring system for casting. I finally figured out how the flipping/pitching switch functions, I never tried it or used it before. I can see why some of you guys only use this option instead of casting. It's all about the control and the ease of use. I have the knowledge in casting the baitcasting reels for eons but I was reluctant to get fully into using them.
