Theodore Roosevelt- View on being a American
I just reread my post, and i'd like to add to it a little. Like others, I have no problem with people expressing their heritage. I come from a very large German family (SCHMIDT) and am very proud of it. But i do agree, I think it divides people. We must stand together. That's why they call it the UNITED States.

Finally finished: First Build
Well, with a little advice from the guys here, I finally managed to finish my first rod build. It's a Cabelas kit, cheap, but it's a pretty nice handling rod considering the price. I have a feeling i'm going to be spending a lot more money on these in the future. :-/ http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/hookemdown/?action=view¤t=100_0373.jpg http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/hookemdown/?action=view¤t=100_0371.jpg http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l119/hookemdown/?action=view¤t=100_0374.jpg

COOL CLOCK
That is pretty cool. But I did kinda think that it was one of those tricks that get you to stare at the screen and then BAM! a scary face and loud music pops up. But indefinitely cool, indeed.

anyone know their snakes
Speaking of cottonmouths..... Me and my brother was fishing at a local pond, moved to a spot about 20 foot from were we started. Fished there for about 10 minutes before we looked down. There was a 4 foot cottonmouth ASLEEP, sitting about 6 inches behind my brother. He thought it was dead, and poked it with a stick to make sure. NOPE, the snake was still alive and kickin. We got out of there in a HURRY! That could have been a bad day.

Theodore Roosevelt- View on being a American
YES! EXACTLY! PERFECT! I've told this to my family a hundred times. If you were born in America your and AMERICAN...period. If you wasn't born in America, and you become one through the various processes, YOU Are not an an American. Remember it like our great seal tells it: E Pluribus Unum, Which means " Out of many, ONE

Wow, I thought I was the only one here who liked XT. Cheap, reliable, durable, CHEAP, good castability, CHEAP..... I've never found a line with a more bang for the buck than XT. But I will say this, Hybrid Ultra soft is what I use on my spinning rods now. I use #4

I hate being 15
Thanks for the replys everyone. I showed him the post. He said that he didn't really know how big of a deal it was to me, and that he thought that with me getting older, I would't want to do as many things with him. Well not that's set straight, and everythings great now. Thanks everyone again. CART, Here's what would happen if I told him that. "Hey dad, you need to join a gym. (Pause) SLAP to the face! : J/K

Wiggle Warts $$$$$$$$$$$$
No no no no...... The old wiggle warts were a piece of crap, I'll be glad to take them off your hands.... But seriously, the old WW were some of the best cranks ever made. They're hard to come around now, so people are are willing to spend a little for them.

I hate being 15
Thank's at least I'm not the only one. But it's really not that my dad isn't in enough physical condition to do it , I just don't think he has a heart for it anymore. He has given me countless memories in the field with him, hopefully I can do that same with my son....or daughter :-/

I hate being 15
I was supposed to go turkey hunting today. All the gear was packed up and ready to go, sitting right by the door, everything in order. My dad walks in, his first words are "son, it's too nasty to go today, let's go next saturday when the weather is better." Sure it's nasty, but the rain moved out last night. My dad used to take me fishing all the time, and go hunting every time he got off from work. He would stay up with me and watch a baseball game at 2 o'clock in the morning. But he doesn't hardly do anything anymore. I've got older parents than most kids my age. My mom is 55 and my dad is 52. I can't wait till I'm 16, so I can drive down to the pond, or up to the woods. But that won't ever replace my dad. I guess I just miss him. (p.s. : all the old guys here, don't tell me "son, don't rush your childhood away..." Trust me, i've already heard it.

Why arent there any smallies down south?
Well, first off, there is smallies down south. RW fishes in the Tennessee river which HE thinks will bear the next world record. Lakes around here (north arkansas) also have smallies. But these lakes tend to be very large and very deep. Smallmouth are native to cold, fast moving waters. Like T-rig said, most southern lakes are too shallow and get too warm to host the smallmouth. Speeding up the site, what can we do?
I have never really encountered a problem with the speed of this site. My family and I use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and it seems to be a lot faster. Exactly. I used to use IE and it just got to be a pain in the butt. A friend told me to try firefox, and i've loved it ever since. I would try it guys....

Weather Shift
Timmy, I actually thought of that myself right before I read you post. But sorry guys, I asked the fish and both of you are wrong. He said everything down there was fine. But he did say that he stayed inside that day watching American Idol. Who would have thought that? I guess you learn something new every day. :

Weather Shift
Good point BM, I never thought about it having a greater affect on smaller bodies of water. But still, I think that the colder weather affected my fishing at least a little. Oh heck, I don't know....Let me go ask the fish.....

Weather Shift
As most people know, there has been a crazy 40 degree temp drop this last week. > As it was 85 degrees, the warm weather got to my head, so I picked up a spinnerbait(which I hate to use) and caught fish all day long. Next few days, it was in the 40's, which made me throw think that I needed to slow down and throw a little grub and fish it slow. But here's the question. Can a few days of warmer weather really change the water temperature that much? Or is is all just in our head? Danke

MONEY FOR THOUGTH
Good point RecMar. Around here, I'd bet that that half of them would fail the test.
