light duty spinning combo
If I am targeting panfish, what rod would I be able to get away with, in the event I get bit by something other? BTW, I like the idea of bigger smallies. they are very rare in my immediate area.

light duty spinning combo
I normally fish an ultra light rig for panfish up here as most waters I fish generally don't hold any that demand anything more. I just put a Saros 1000 on a 6' LF for the local river smallies (1-2 lbs). I've heard that KENTUCKY LAKE holds some nice panfish, and am wondering how this set up would do panfishing that area as well as for my smallies. Any thoughts would help.

got the screws?
I looked like he had possession when he hit the ground, and the ground couldn't cause a fumble. But I guess it don't matter now.

Not really a Pittsburg fan, but I think they took one dry on that challenge. Next play, interference? :-/

Spinning rod guides
How typical is it for the need to adjust the guides on new spinning rods? More often than not I find crooked or bent guides. I only assume that shipping to the retailers, customer abuse, and maybe quality control all play a part. Is there a proper way of adjusting them, or is it just a matter of puttin' an eyeball to it

Reels under $70?
I don't know if we can help anymore. There's four pages of opinions all ready. This idea of slapping a name on reel is more than just that. It's the service you get after you buy, and just because brand X is built identical to the more expensive name brand, that don't make them the same. The cheaper brand X most likely has inferior components. Gears, drag systems, bearings, etc. That's it for me. Goodluck. BTW, I know you are looking to get the best bang for your buck, and I honestly believe you were headed in the right direction the first time around. Someone's been a bit bucky the last few days and there has been a bit of a carry over from another thread which has muddled this discussion a little. I really do hope whatever you get works for ya!

If you could get two Carrot Stix's what two would you get?
I just sent you a pm Matt, if you make it back to this thread, I have a Daiwa TD2500 sitting here that I want a carrot for. Got a couple of the carrot casting rods, any suggestions for a "general purpose" rod. I was thinking a mhf 6'9" if they make that in a spinning model. :-/
