I just bought a 798SI and a 998SI, due to outside storage they can't stay on the boat. What do you guys use to carry/protect them when not on a boat? Thanks

I'm a little confused. Says bow unit transducer on TM and two consoles ducers are transom mount but, the picture shows two ducers on the TM. Am I missing something?

While we're hijacking. Wayne P. you can switch from transom to TM transducer from any unit on the network, right?

Guess it all depends on where you live. I pay about $180 a year for tournament coverage. Indoor storage close to the house is $70 a month, I drag mine about 20 miles and store inside for $35.

I'm getting ready to buy new electronics front and back. Options are: 1. HDS-8 @ Console, HDS-5 bow with Structure scan. LSS Transducer on transom. 2. Bird 998 @ Console, 798 bow. Transducer on TM and Transom. I think I like the Lowrance units better but, with only being able to have one transducer hooked to the structure scan while fishing on the front the display at my feet is really showing 18' behind me. Is this a big deal? Or should I go Bird and be able to switch transducers to match where I'm at on the boat? Thanks in advance!

How obvious would a 150 with 115 stickers be? Sticky question but, would johnny law or anybody else know the stickers were wrong?

I have a couple of prop dings that I need to get worked when I put it up for the winter (coming MUCH too soon). I talked to a local Merc mechanic and he said the motor should spin 6k all day. He added that he might try a 21p if he could get one cheap otherwise he would leave it alone. Think I'm going to start watching ebay and see if I can pick up something cheap. Thanks again for all the help.

Thanks to all for the input. I do not have a jackplate. Had suggestions from a 21 to a 24 but, most have said it runs good, leave it alone. Going to wait unti spring to decide. Thanks again

As the subject says, bought a 97 18' Astro with a 92 Merc 150hp 3 blade 19 pitch prop (not sure of brand). With about 450lbs of people and full tank of gas i got 53mph @6,000rpm on the gps. Comes on plane at about 3,000, I would have thought a little faster top end. Does this sound right? Thanks
