Jordan Lee Returning to BASS
Fork has a 16"-24" slot, so everything inside that slot has to be C&R unless exempted. Will be interesting to see how long some of these guys stay relevant when they don't qualify through the Opens and can't get back into either professional circuit beyond the lower tiers.

Took advantage of the nice weather; high 58 and lighter (<10 mph) winds. Back out to the ‘not as muddy as everything else’ reservoir for a few hours. Little bit slower today - just 4 keeper bites, but caught another good one (just a couple shad shy of 4 lbs.). Water 44-46 deg today. Also saw some wild turkeys near the waters edge, and had a nice sunset courtesy of the snowstorms not too far off to our west.

Normally would have never gone given the wind forecast - steady at 14-20 gusting 28-33 mph…but the high hit 56 today, the extended forecast is crappy, and I thought I had formulated a game plan based on wind direction to try and continue learning how these Southern lakes and bass behave and react. Was really just hoping for one decent bite given the conditions. Got my first keeper within 15 minutes and felt like I had already done what I wanted, but kept running the pattern and ended up with a limit of bass topped by a 4-0 fish. The last 45 minutes I tried repeating my bite from a couple days before and got the best bite of the day at 5-10. Learned a lot and feel really good about how things are setting up. Last pic of trailer gives you an idea of the water clarity I’m dealing with. This was near the dam and water temps were 44-45.5 most everywhere. Water color only gets worse as you move uplake due to 5.0” of rain the past week.

I don’t have a lot of confidence in Wordle’s stats. Yours is one of several posted that don’t add up. You can’t have a max streak of 51 when you’ve only lost 2 games out of 428 played. Casts_by_fly’s was similar with a max 51 and over 400 played games. Max streak should be a couple hundred in those cases. J Francho’s don’t seem to match either, though not nearly as wonky. I know I lost a couple hundred games and my win streaks when it converted to NYT and accidentally cleared my cache and ‘Stats’ started over 😪

Applying for Social Security Disability Benefits ~
My wife did the same thing getting SS disability for her sister. Everyone she checked with who had been through it said go straight to a lawyer specializing in SS disability, so she did. They simplify the forms and help you answer them properly. They’ll schedule appts., etc. as needed to collect everything for the application and submission, and you’ll have to do the chasing and appts w/o fail, but it went through and approved in well under a year on the first go round. Payment came out of the backdated lump sum initial payment, then everything was good going forward.

Blue skies, SW wind 6-10 mph, and a high of 59 degrees made for nice conditions out on the water today. With the local lake trashed and likely unfishable for the next couple weeks, I decided to head to what I thought should be the clearest lake. Wasn’t totally shocked to see stained water when I pulled up, but upon closer examination, it was not the fresh red clay colored stuff, just a good stain with 12”-15” of visibility (normally 4 ft. or better). Water temps were 45 degrees. Headed out and started shallow on some riprap without any luck, then a steep bank with some laydowns - still no good. Moved uplake to the last area I found them grouped up on, and finally got a bite - from a 4-11 bass. That one bite made my afternoon, but slowed down and worked through the larger area and came up with 3 more keepers. Down to the last 20-25 minutes, so I returned to the area where I got that first big bite, and sure enough, about 50 yds down the breakline I stuck and landed a 5-4 to complete my limit. More rain in the forecast, possibly 1-2 inches, followed by a good shot of cold air. No idea when that next trip will be, but I know where I’ll be going.

Hover Strolling + Alabama Shake = Jig n Fluke?
That’s about the truth - strolling, bottom strolling, mid strolling, Bama strolling, hover strolling, long line strolling, moping, Damiki strolling, etc., etc. You’re the exact opposite of Ned guys who just use the single term ‘Ned rigging’ and then claim every variation under the sun as part of the technique? 😆 🤣 😎 😉 jk 🤭

Hover Strolling + Alabama Shake = Jig n Fluke?
Probably 90% of the open water crappie season is spent casting and counting down your bait to some level in the water column, then retrieving with varying degrees of speed/pauses/twitches. Been that way for years and years and years, as unlike bass, crappie spend the majority of their time in some degree of suspension off the bottom … at least that’s how I’ve always fished them.

Yep - our water temp was 45 deg Mon., and this was a cold rain. They aren’t going to like it - lol.

The reason I won’t be catching any bass in my closest reservoir for a few weeks. Over 4” of rain and the red clay is just pouring in. The whole lake will turn this color in about 24-48 hours.

Still chasing the big crappie around despite the muddy water conditions. These went 1.4 lbs. and 1.75 lbs. They’re gorging on threadfin at the moment. Wish the bass would join in on the feast, but they’re few and far between for some reason.

What's your favorite color of Zoom "trick worm" ?
Wow, a 15+ yr old thread resurrected 😵💫 I’m perfectly content with either white, bubblegum (pink), methiolate or sherbert (orange). If I hit a store with just enough cash to buy one bag only, I’m walking out with bubblegum because of all the fish I’ve caught on that color. For everything else, there’s the Zoom finesse worm in standard darker and more varied color selections. I treat them as two different worms for two different applications.
