Maybe off topic. My wife mainly does NY Times Sunday puzzles. Have seen her finish some in about 30 minutes. About as fast as she can write the answers. Amazing that such a smart lady married me.🙂

A good friend of mine's brother has authored several of the crosswords. I can't even imagine the effort.

Crossword puzzles got me thru college, they put The NY Times ones in the free university daily newspaper. They were nearly impossible (for me) to complete after Wednesday thoough. I could absorb all the info the professor would say if I was working a crossword puzzle. Conversely if I looked at the professor and tried to listen to the lecture, I would retain almost zero information. It really ticked them off but it worked for me

This one was so hard that I looked at it for like 5 minutes before making my first guess. Then process of elimination after that. 
 

I only started playing like 3 days ago tho, so it was most likely just beginners luck. 

I walked away from it for a bit too. There were a couple of millennial gen references in there that took me a minute.

I still don't know what a folio is. 

Spelling bee and Wordle, I haven't gone down the connections worm hole yet. My sweetheart does all three. We compare answers at the end of the day.
