  1. There is no problem throwing huge worms during the day, it is one of my go to baits in the summer months. But, I think you are going a little too big on the hook, I get by just fine with a 5/0.
  2. I fish pumpkin/black flake exclusively.
  3. I like getting up to the lake really early, but I have noticed that most of my big bites come in the middle of the day.
  4. I have been using a gammy finesse wide gap for 2 seasons now and I hardly ever miss a fish. I use 3/0.

Yeah I overlooked the 14 incher. Thats more along the lines of what I was looking for.

I know the regular sites. I guess I am looking more for like 12 and 14 in worms.
  7. Bass fishing I always palm the reel. But when I am muskie fishing I hold it by the foregrip...I seem to get more leverage on the hookset.

Where do you guys buy your big 10+" worms?
  9. I get skunked about twice a year. My dad tends to always fish the same lakes so I have no choice but to go where he wants to.
  10. shakey head, dropshot, or finesse cranking.
  11. JT Bagwell, I think he was referring to the Junior FLW Championship. Basspro96, I think you should look at what everyone is saying as constructive criticism. But I agree that your age is a huge speed bump. Learn all you can through magazines, books, and on the water experience. Then think about sponsors and stuff like that.
  12. I don't think rods are going to be a problem, because I am a muskie fisherman and I have a couple rods that I think would suite them well enough. But, if I get really into them I will probably buy a technique specific rod.
  13. I am thinking about jumping onto the swimbait bandwagon. But, I was wondering if anyone has had success with them in states like Indiana, Michigan and Illinois. Also, what are 3 swimbaits that I should buy?
  14. Yeah I trim the skirt on every jig that I throw.
  15. I only bass fish in the summer, so it varies a lot. But, it really depends on what lake and how well the fish are biting.
  16. Yeah the price is a little high. But, my local gander mountain had it on sale so I was able to stock up on it. I also like Yozuri Hybrid Ultrasoft. but it can be hard to find locally and I try to order as little online as possible.
  17. I have switched all of my spinning combos to it. So far I am VERY impressed, it is limp, abrasion resistant, strong, and casts very well. What are your thoughts on it?
  18. Yeah I have one of those. My dad and I call it the wall of shame.
  19. Send it back and get a St. Croix.
  20. I use it...its a really good knot, and it hasn't failed me yet. But, I still opt for the palomar knot most of the time.
  21. I own 3 Legends. I am making a gradual change to all Legends.
  22. Hi. I am new to the forum and I am 16. Personally, I feel that a 15 or 16 year old that wants a sponsorship because they don't have the money to buy the stuff they need is ridiculous. Get a job, i have had one for two years now and I have all the money I need to buy rods reels and baits. I don't exactly go cheap when I buy stuff either. I have gotten free baits from a couple companies. But, they weren't big companies, I bought baits from them frequently and developed a good relationship with the owner. This was for my muskie fishing habit though.
