  4. A Luna 300 is about the same size as a 400 size Shimano. It also has a lower gear ratio than the Curado 300.

I got to see the midnight debut and I thought it was AMAZING. One of the best movies I have ever seen.
  6. My reason for not using mono is their hard mouth and the stretch that mono has. I used to use mono a lot for muskie fishing until I started using 80 lb braid. The fight is also quite a bit shorter. I have never had a problem with braided line in sub freezing weather. BTW, congrats on your first muskie of the year.
  7. Yeah, Pure Fishing is really quick with repairs and replacements. If I send in a reel Monday, I have it by Friday night.
  8. For the price you can't beat it. I used it for 2 years but now I fish with Gamma Copoly.
  9. I love Lucky Crafts. I own about 25 and 15 are flat cb's. the other ones are rc's and skt's.
  10. They main reason I want a jonboat is to fish a creek that has good fishing in the winter and the only other was to efectively fish it is to wade in the freezing water with doesn't sound too fun to me. And during the summer it would be used in small ponds and up to 750 acre lakes.
  11. I have fished out of both. I want the jon boat for winter fishing because my dad doesn't want to take his boat out in the cold stuff and I want a bigger boat for some of the larger lakes in my area. So thats where I am having trouble deciding.
  12. I am 16 and I have a job and I was wondering if I should save about $1000 and get a 12 ft. jon boat with a low hp motor that I would be able to put in my truck. Or if I should just save for a couple of years and get a bigger boat.
  13. Yea I LOVE St. Croix Rods too. I had 3 avids(but one got stolen last year), I own 3 legend tournaments, a premiere and 2 triumphs that i picked up on sale and both of them have been retired due to lack of quality. The Legends are by far the best rod I have ever used, but I still haven't tried to legend elite. I would suggest them to anybody.
  14. The triumph is an insult to the St. Croix name IMO. The rods do not compare at all. I use a Legend tournament for my crankbaits and I love it.
  15. I use Lucky Craft and Bomber.
  16. DON'T use bass gear. You will regret it. Buy a rod and reel just for muskies. If you don't want to buy a rod, use your flipping stick. Don't go any lighter than 65# superbraid. Mono has too musch stretch and muskies have a very hard mouth so you need all the hooksetting power you can get. For baits I would suggest bulldawgs and bucktails and pacemakers (a topwater bait). But if anything make sure you are using a nice high quality leader. And stay away from musky bill's leaders, they break. I use Stealth Tackle leaders in 130 lb test. They are made of fluorocarbon and they are 14 inches long. They are the most popular leader among the muskie crowd right now. Also get a nice pair of fish handling gloves, they have teeth they thrash and to grab them you have to put your hand by the gill rakers. Hope that helped. If you have anymore questions send me a pm.
  17. I have been using baitcasters since I was 9, I am 16 now and I have had top of the line stuff since I was 12. If a kid really likes fishing I see no problem with them having nice stuff. But i have always used rods from 7' to 8'6", rod length has to do with what is comfortable to the person using it.
  18. I started using them at the beginning of last year and most of my bass were caught on them. But, I made myself fish them and nothing else for most of the year.
  19. I use the Lucky Craft flat cb's for a lot of my crankbait needs.
  20. I think so, I had ultrasoft on a couple reels and took it off after using gamma for a while.
  21. I use a 7' MH fast action baitcasting rod for jigs. I use 15# Fluorocarbon.
  22. Yeah, I started using it this year too and I really like it. So far I have it on all of my spinning reels.
  23. 16...

    I work at Subway.
  25. How has the fishing been in northeast Indiana? I am going bass fishing for he first time this year over the weekend, and I just wanted to know if the fishing was any good.
