    ;D That was good.
  2. If I can't get anything to go, I cast a vibrax for a while. I usually catch a few.
  3. That was a great story, and definitely not a fluke.
  4. I never go up there unless it is on a wednesday or thursday. We had a really good day, landed 25 fish in 5 hours. all on deep weedlines with cranks. Going back out on thursday, hopefully i will have another great day.
  5. This year has sucked majorly. Toyota must have wrote NASCAR a huge check. They went from 1 top 10 to winning half the races. The car of tomorrow is horrible, the cars get tooo spaced out, making races very boring. I am very disappointed in NASCAR.
  6. I think he is siting football jigs in particular, which a lot of anglers are dragging in the same areas and under the same conditions as you would fish a carolina rig. The football jig has had a huge surge in popularity, and is overtaking the c-rig as of late. Hank Parkers last article in Bassin' was about this very subject, and he talked about all the tournament anglers opting for the football jig now versus the c-rig. I definitely tend to use a c-rig versus the football in prespawn, but in the summer...I'm more likely to drag the football jig instead of a Carolina rig. The Carolina rig is still the more sublte approach, with your bait weightlessly skipping along the bottom and then slowing settling, which is why I prefer it in the cooler water of prespawn. In the Summer...it seems like just getting your bait down to hug the bottom on those ledges and such works...you can even work that football fairly fast a lot of the time. I like a 1oz football in deeper water, but use a 3/4oz a lot as well to cover that 5-10ft range. I just want to be able to keep it movin' or use good pulls and not have it leave the bottom. The 1oz jig kicks up a lot of debris as well, which is a bonus Good question... Couldn't have said it any better than that.
  7. 30" give or take. 5-6 pounds. Congrats on the first pike.
  8. Wow, great job as usual.
  9. Those look awesome! I really like the shad colored one a lot. The bluegill photo finish is really nice too. Keep up the good work.
  10. How has Lake Wawasee been treating everyone lately? I am going there tomorrow and it will be the first time there this year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  11. ^has a great quote about the grass being greener.
  12. I fish out of all of them except huge lakes. I do just fine in my much closer lakes, rivers and ponds.
  13. It would be a Shimano Chronarch.
  14. I've had similar experiences on Waveland, lots of fish everywhere.
  15. I see them every few trips to a busier lake and they can be a huge pain from time to time.
  16. They are fish catching baits thats for sure, but some of them don't run straight out of the box, so you have to tune them.
  17. It definitely cuts down on line twist.
  18. None taken bassnleo. But if the fish is 50 inches it would be 4'2" and unless you are 7 ft. tall its not a 50. Don't take offense to this post but I am just saying what I think, take it for what you want.
  19. Its not a 50 probably 44 or 45. making it 25-30 lbs.
  20. I use one for crankbaits and I love it. I can throw a 1/4 oz crank a mile.
  21. Awesome!! Who was your guide?
  22. IMO a 4000 size spinning reel is too big. Go with the 2500 or the 3000.
  23. There is a nice muskie fishing site called muskiefirst. Ask a question there. Alot of good people that would love to help out a beginning muskie angler.
  24. 5:1 Cranks and spinnerbaits 6:1 Everything 7:1 Buzzbaits, worms, jigs, lipless cranks Hope that helps some
