American Rodsmith Team Spin Rod. What is the difference between Medium Magnum and Finesse
LOL I'm the perfect guy for answering your question. I purchased the Med Mag this spring. I fell in love with it! It's a great rod but it fishes like a MH. So when your fishing a light shacky head the tip doesn't really shake or whip at all. So I just purchased the ML finesse version and it has a slightly shorter butt being a 5 inch shorter rod. I find it also has some whip in the tip then you shake it but it's not dramatic and it still has plenty of back bone. So I'm going to use the ML for Shacky and wacky set ups and the MM for light jigs and tubes.

Question for braid users
I use it for frogs of both kinds. I also use it as my back up pitching rod in nasty stuff. The other set up I use it on is my shacky and wacky rigs. I use a leader with them but I perfer the way braid handles on spinning gear.

Quick before it's to late great Spinning Rod deal!
A major online retailer (unfortunately not a sponsor) is having a one day special on their American Rod Smith team series spinning rods. Normally 150$ but after special pricing and there 20% off it's only 55$! I have one that I bought in a promotion Big O had on his site for members and I love it. So of course I've already got a finesse rod on order! Hurray sale ends tonight I think. Man I sound like a freaking car salesman.

Do You Drink Energy Drinks?
No and yes. I can count the times I've bought one on one hand. I can count the times I've fully drank one with one finger. The only time I get them is when I'm in serious danger of falling asleep and I must stay up. For example today I drank one completely for the first time. I was going on 4 hours sleep today and I was on the tail end of a 8 hour drive. I couldn't keep my eyes focused on the road. So I stop gulped one down and was able to finish the trip.

Gotcha Glenn! Already got mine booked! Lets all focus on having a great time and catching some great fish. Seriously, presenters and all that is great. Lets just not cancel anything based on anything like that happening or not happening. Lets all just meet up, get as many boats there as we can and if need be cram them to legal capacity! Heck you don't even need a boat just ask Procrafter from a couple years ago at KY lake. He was slaying them right down from the hotel room. BTW and this is a BIG BTW! Chances are the crappie are going to be going nuts take a look from the last KY lake roadtrip. So you might want to bring an ultra light!

Facebook to many fisherman!
Ok so like many of you I have a facebook page. Well it's getting kind of crazy for a long time I've never really bothered with it but for a few times. When I signed up added people like Big O, Bass resource, Strike King Lure company. The next thing I know I got Kim Striker and 10,000 other anglers send me friend requests. I'm not kidding I think I have over a hundred requests peding from people holding up fish. When they first started coming in I approved them thinking this cool to meet other anglers. Now it's just to the point I need or want to filter out the noise or requests of people who are only interested in upping there friends so the can sell me on a sponsor. Now I've got to plan on what to do. I like the updates from places like Tackle warehouse, Big O, SK, and I'd like to be able to tell when somebody on here wants to be friends but now I've got to come up with a secret code AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally like to look at these trips as my personal get away trips. I make it a priority to get to them now. Heck I'm passing on a cruise with the family so i can make sure I have enough time off and the boss doesn't say "you just had a vacation". In my Ming you just can't beat a week of great fishing with new and old friends. You meet allot of great people at these trips. A couple years ago was my first and I was so nervous about being the new guy nobody knew. However by the end of the trip I relized that's what's it all about. So any new members or anybody "thinking" about going GO! Make it a priority and trust me you will have a great time.

Oh now don't listen to ken. He got so tired of us he burnt out the air conditioner in our cabin so we had to go to another. Then we find out it was all a set up to make us leave and he turned it back on. J/j - He will be in bed when the sun goes down.

Disappointed with my fishing season
I really hate to say I'm disappointed but I am. I hate to say that because I had some incredible highs. The road trip to pickwick was possibly the best week of my life. My dad and I both caught our first smallies and everybody there was great. I also had a trip to ky lake at moors landing where I got to fish with my uncle before he passed away. I also showed my experience as a angler in my club this year. I was in the running for angler of the year before a equipment mall function in durring a tournament knocked me off the pace. All these things were great and so why am I down? Simple time on the water! I've been working like crazy but with my evening shift I should have been able to get out more . I'd say I fished only a quarter as much as I did last year. Personally I believe tow is the most important thing you can do to become a better angler. The second reason is my home lake had a horrible year. It's a shallow muddy lake with a ton of grass. Well this year we had high watter at just the right time to prevent the grass from coming up like normal. So of course then we settled into a drought and the lake dropped so low much of the lake is un fishable and it's still that way. We had a few good days buy it was mainly just a ton of tough fishing days. Anyways that's my fishing season story what's yours?

Hey guys I just wanted to applaud your selection! I live just a few miles away and our club launched out of moors last summer. My family turned it into a little get away and my pops, uncle, mother. and niece and nephew all stayed down there for a couple nights. We had a great time and we;ve been dying to go back ever since. We stayed in one of their cottages that they seem to have many of. No wifi is offered in the cottages though btw or at least not in ours. The fishing should be terrific with even some good small mouth spots not to far away. Each year is different but I'm betting it will be about 1 or 2 weeks prespawn about that time around here. I'm going to have to talk to my boss at work to get the final ok but otherwise you can sure count me in!!

Met Joe Thomas Friday
I also like his shows but on "reel" they need to stop it with the fake hookset sound effect. Sure it sounds like it's reel but after hearing 10,000 times in a row you know it's the same sound effect over and over again. LOL!

Ike snapping verdict rod
I broke 4 rods this year and only one I would say was my fault. St Croix took care of me and replaced one in warranty rod and the other out of warranty rod was replaced for a small fee. I have a Carrot Stix I need to replace but I'm not happy about spending 50$ for a in warranty repair! It was just a crazy year for my rods when I'd never broke a rod before this year.

$150 for Finesse Rig...what to do???
Flea Market, Flea Market and Flea Market!!! Seriously our flea market is great. On the subject of the rods you picket out. I was in the market for a fathers day gift for my dad and he needed a shaky head rod. Our local sporting good store had both the Vendetta and Mojo on sale. I held both the "7ft M" mojo and Vendetta. It was clear pretty darn quick the mojo was balanced fairly well and the vendetta tip heavy. I've read this isn't the case on the casting rods but it is on the 7ft m spin models. So I got him the Mojo and he seems happy. Another thing to look at is the Mojo would also allow you to trade up to one of there higher end rods at a later time if you want. Check out their website for details.

New CURADO 50 E
Hmm this Curado 50E may spark me to try a nice finesse baitcast set up. As many on here know I hate spinning gear for the most part. I've been looking or rather wanting to have pinpoint pitching and flipping with finesse lures, but I just can't do it well on spinning yet.

Got hurt on the job. :(
Thanks for all the support and information guys. I'm going to try and see my local doctor today and make sure he thinks it's muscle related only as well. I'm kind of getting that "You better get your @** back to work" feeing from the head hancho from my department. I've got ETO time to cover my pay the last couple days but it's about gone now. So as long as my regular doctor gives the ok I think I'm going to give it a go.

Got hurt on the job. :(
Ya I'm not worried about the drug test either. I'm clean and I always have been so I'm not worried. Backs still a little stiff but my pain meter is pretty low on it. Supervisor just called and said I'm welcomed to come back any time and she was mistaken when she thought I had to wait until friday. I told her that I feel pretty good and would come in tomorrow if it felt ok, but I'd call in the morning if it was still pretty stiff. My fear is going back to soon and lifting something and making it worse. So I'm going to take the cautions path here and if I don't feel up to it stay home. Mentatly I'm king od fighting myself here because I want to work, but at the same time what good does it do anybody if I hurt myself more.

Got hurt on the job. :(
Some of you guys may recall I started a new job at the beginning of the year. It's been great and I really like the job. I've been doing well enough that a month ago I was offered a full time position even though I'm still in the initial probation period. Today it took a small step backwards. The job is really 3 or 4 jobs that you learn and do one each day as assigned. Today I was assigned the least favorite job that you have to do once a week. because we rotate it to avoid burn out. It can be very physical and contains some risks to it. I just didn't see this one coming. I was loading a large washer that cleans these large carts that we use as transports. I opened the washer and loaded one cart in and walked to get the second one. Well I guess the steam that rolled out when I had opened it quickly turned to some water puddles on the floor. I new saw it and BAM! It was kind of like being on a ice ring and falling. My legs did some things they shouldn't have and I twisted like a pretzel trying to brace myself from failing too hard, That ended up being the problem. At first, besides a little neck pain I didn't feel all that bad and my heart was beating a mile a minute though. After I settled down though I noticed my back becoming stiffer and stiffer, then it started to spasm on me. I felt like a moron having to tell my supervisor I just busted my *** and fell hard. To make things short we walked to the ER. I filled out a ton of paper work, saw a doctor and got xrays. Told I can't work until friday and was then told to go pee in a cup to make sure I wasn't high or drunk.

Just got a IPAD!!!!!
I doubt it. The margin's on Apple products are miniscule. Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit... ok a lot... I'm not going to get into details here I forgot to ask, did you get the one that has the AT&T aircard built in? No I'm with verizon, and ATT doesn't have the best coverage around here. I just got the one with wifi built in. I have wifi at my house and at work. In fact were I work you can't get normal cell phone reception. The hospital I work at has bulkier phones for us to use because parts of the hospital has very thick walls. On the other they have set up a superb wifi in the entire hospital though. So wifi gets the job done great for me. The AT&T data plan also kind of sucks imho. I hope they change it, but my contract is up in a few months so it's possible I could switch and get a iphone and tether it. However I'll probably just get some type of android phone.

Just got a IPAD!!!!!
Well I just spent a arm and a leg and got a iPad. In fact I'm using it right now to type this. That's probably what I'm most impressed with. The typing works fantastic and I could not be happier in that respect. I've been wanting something highly portable and light weight but still having a ton of features. I was at first looking at getting a high end net book with a HD screen but the more I looked it seemed the iPad could offer everything I wanted but frankly at a price. For the longest time I couldn't see myself paying 5-700$ on something that didn't even have DVD or blu Ray. Then I thought about the fact that I hate the DVD drive on my older laptop. The thing eats up a ton of battery and always pops open and I never use it. All the video I watch is streaming on the web now. So net books and iPad overcame that hurdle. What was causing me to lean toward a net book over iPad though was price and flash. The ipad doesn't support flash and frankly that's just dumb! Steve jobs can say whatever he likes but it was all about ego and control IMHO. The iPad was also almost double of the net books in price so why did I get it? Well to start off I found out all the sites I wanted had a free video app and then hulu announced their new app. So I can get all the video content I want and don'need a huge hard drive. Btw the abc video player offers amazing HD for streaming video. Netflix is also amazing as well. This thing is multimedia machine! Second is the form and weight factor. I wanted to be able to take this device to work or anywhere and it not weigh me down. My laptop is just to big and heavy. Sure it has a great big screen but the boot ups take 4ever and it wasn't a very portable device. I played with some net books and was surprised by the weight of them. It kind of turned me off on them. The battery life is also awesome on the iPad. Something like 10 hours! All the apps are also amazing. I even set up a remote desktop to run my pc from my iPad. All the iBooks and ebook readers are also pretty amazing. I can see myself starting to use that. I also bet the newspapers love this thing. It seems like the iPad was made to save the newspaper industry. There are a ton of other things I love about this thing but i've went along long enough. I just hope hummingbird comes out with a side image app next! ;D ;D ;D
