holy cow i wish we had stump fields like that around here. :o :o
  4. I just recently purchased a 7ft 2 medium heavy fast action Shimano Cumara, and i'm looking for a reel to pair it up with. I currently have my spare revo-sx on it but i'm looking for something with a higher gear ratio. I have my eye on the curado e7 just wondering what your thoughts are on the combo, and if it'll feel balanced. tip or end heavy etc.
  5. the dont mix well with other plastics either

its split top and bottom usually, the whole bait is a "watermellon" green plastic but the top is black flakes and bottom is red flakes i believe.

I first started with the BPS "Uncle Buck's" jigs, they were pretty terrible, then i moved on to the bitsy bug jigs, hated those also, moved up a bit to the strike king football head and that satisfied me for a few months, tried the booyah boo jig and i hated that also, I just purchased 2 packs megastrike e2 jig heads in 3/8 ounce, THEY'RE AMAZING!! i'm ready to order more at the end of the month. I personally would recommend the megastrike e2 jig heads with a ragetail lobster trailer. it looks bloody amazing in the water. TRUST me you'll crap bricks when you see this thing in the water lol
  8. "SO WE'LL FISH IN THE SHADE!!!!" (read that with a 300 voice.)
  9. the lobsters look AMAZING on the megastrike e2 jigs.
  10. my experience with the cabelas advanced angler's pro series bag wasn't as pleasant. i received the bag with one of the straps barely sewn on so i returned it and agreed to pay shipping for another one to be sent out. promptly received it, loaded it up with my tackle and was on my way. first day out the same strap rips off in the same way : my 20 dollar plano bag served me better than the cabelas bag.
  11. i have never bent a hook, the fish don't get big enough to do that here in MI. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  12. My local lake has been COVERED in what seems to be underwater mats, it seems to be muskgrass http://www.outdooralabama.com/fishing/freshwater/where/ponds/p/ap/guide/submersed/charaspp.cfm well i can get a jig through it....and i was doing it all day but i didn't get any hits....just wondering if there could be any fish hiding under this stuff because it's taken over atleast 30% of the lake.
  13. gold blades will help with that also, preferably an indiana style per this vid. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/spinnerbaits-bass-fishing.html
  14. I recently purchased two Strike King "KVD" Spinnerbaits and i'm honestly quite impressed. 1) The quality of the skirt seems a bit higher than the regular booyahs that i've purchased. 2) The skirt also includes the "Magic Tail" system which is just a couple strands of longer skirt which add tons of action and bulk. 3) They also come with a FREE trailer hook! not badd! 4) last but not least it's one of two indiana blade designs that BPS had in stock so i opted for the KVD series because of the blade and color choice, color #34 looks amazing. CONS: 1) Once in a while the "Magic Tail" gets stuck in the blades which will cause your cast to be fouled. All in all i think they're a decent off the shelf spinner bait. I'm sure there are many other better spinners out there but they aren't available on the shelves of any of my local tackle shops.
  15. so do you guys add anything to your cavitrons? i added a trailer hook, but i swear i've heard of people putting small flukes on as a trailer?
  16. while you're at it change the split ring that you tie onto. i've read about multiple failures and even had a few fail just while with NO fish on the other end. >
  17. So i recently purchased a Cavitron buzzbait and here is my review. Before purchasing multiple Cavitrons i decided that i would just buy ONE, just because there is a slight possibility i wouldn't like their action. So i purchased a single Cavitron, black with a red blade. Upon inspection after opening the package, the lure is pretty decent quality, i'm not 100% sure on the brand of the hook but its extremely sharp. Well this morning i headed to a local inland lake "stoney creek" and proceeded to cast the cavitron past a patch of isolated lily pads, first thing i notice is that it's MUCH easier to get this buzzbait to the surface faster than others. second, this thing squeeks and gurgles unlike the booyahs that clack. third, it moves slowwwwwwww just as it was advertised. anywho, last thing i noticed after a handful of casts, was a big wake following it and then seeing the entire lure get sucked down into the dark abyss. i thought it was the bass of a lifetime but it turned out to be a 19-20" northern pike. ;D he absolutely SLAMMED the bait, i had a trailer hook on but it was such a good strike that he got caught by the regular hook. After catching and releasing him i inspected the bait, no paint chips, no missing pieces of skirt, not even a mark! honestly i'm bloody impressed! a wire bait like that in the mouth of such a toothy critter only to come out unscathed, i've had booyah spinners and buzzbaits lose skirts without even catching fish. :-? anywho three thumbs up for a wonderful product!
  18. quoted for truth! whenever i miss a fish due to hooksets it's usually because i wasn't paying attention and set the hook like a little girl. :-/
  19. i'm out in the detroit//sterling heights area and it's the complete opposite for me. largemouth bass are a dime a dozen to me, i rarely get out on LSC or detroit river where there actually are smallies. i'm usually fishing inland lakes.
  20. i introduced fishing to my friends as a positive way to relieve stress, we all understand the need to fish alone soemtimes.

the only problem is, some plastics don't mix well with other plastics and will melt, such as the strike king 3x line up. also colors tend to bleed between lighter and darker shades no matter what brand. but i see that as a good thing.
  22. I usually Texas rig my Brush Hogs with a pegged bullet weight. use it around weeds, lily pads, docks and hold on tight.
  23. get me one too
  24. i rarely use my extremely small collection of lipped cranks, also i barely use lizards. :-/
