  1. what a Dh. he probably got skunked or just plain sucks at fishingor maybe he got a hook up his poop shoot... ;D
  2. where are you? cuz here in lond island we have the same thing(except no pike ) water is tinted and then it rains and its muddy and then its overcast. i have those weed mats too. heres what i might try if i were you. but do it in practice if you have another day of it becuase i don't want you to go on my advice on a tourney day until you see if it works or not. anyway. try a spinnerbait chartruesse if you have. try an indiana blade if you have. fish the frogs on and around the mats(especially if it is raining or drizzlein) if it is overcast and muddy try the chartruesse but mess with a lot of things. that is what practice is for. stick to the weed mats and cover. another absolutley deadly deadly bait for me right now is the YUM Vibra King Finesse Tube. Yo-Yo retrive. been killing with those. i'm sure you'll get a lot more info from the other guys. hope this helps.
  3. little off topic but triton mike what i noticed one of your sponsers is Hamby's Beaching Bumper. what is that exactly?
  4. i think it has to do with darwin's theory of natural selection. if a bass see something that looks like a nice healty baitfish and then right next to it there is something that is and oddball green looking thing the bass would rather not waste energy chaseing a healty meal down when it can take the unhealthy green one. its like its used to seeing live silver healthy minnows so once you put a green one in its face it thinks it is sick or hurt or something. again this makes it a lot easier to eat.
  5. how can a young bass fisherman like myself get sponsored and into tourneys and such?
  6. well up here in ny the fish are getting on their beds. heres my problem. i walk around this one pond. i saw at least 10 nests. all along the bank. now. i see all the small males (at least i think they are the males) sitting on the nest. then there is a bigger fish (female?????) just going back and forth. she just keeps swimming up and then if she gets to close BANG the male flys over and chases her away. the female won't take anything. all the fish are realllllllllllyyyyyyy spoooky. they jet off at first sight. i put a jig in this paticular females face numerous times only to have her spook out and run away. then there was another nest with a like 3 pounder on it that i want soooo bad. the thing chases anything and i mean anything away from the nest. and i put every thing i own in the nest only to have it turn its gill to it and leave it alone. why won't they bite!?!?!
  7. i think they would ruin a little more than your afternoon lol
  8. are you positive they are bass. because here in a pond i fish in NY just before sunset and during it (around 6:35-8:00?) i see all these fish boiling. at first i didn't know what they were. then while throwing a tuny jerkbait i caught a whole mess of crappie. so i'm basically certain that every boil is crappie. plus the water is clear so when they first start boiling and you still have a little sunlight i can see 10-20 of them schooling but i never catch that many....lol
  9. yes yes yes. bass will eat anything they can fit in their mouths. which happens to be everything besides a horse, which they might beable to get down.......if you chop it in half first lmao seriously though they will eat anything they can fit in their mouths even other bass
  10. did you take any pictures of the fish?
  11. Avid- structure ockechobee- pretty much covers it lol
  12. uhhhh ussally throw the baits i'm most confident in in every way i know how. if i usally figure them out somewhere in there. if not i just take a bait i suck at and hope i get lucky. if that doesn't work SKUNKED!. there is propbably a certain way to do it but thats how i do it.
  13. ok i was just afraid of having a fish and not seeing it because they were sneaking up and biting it but then they didn't move and all. they just froze in place
  14. i've been getting them on jerkbaits....suspending but like twitching it and the stopping. all this fish have been caught by sight. what will a bite be like while twitching a jerkbait and then stopping it. the fish grab it and then stop. they don't swim. i'm guessing it will tick right?
