  1. try a jig or a t-rigged worm also...a ribon tail. just upsize.
  2. try the same baits but upsize them. the larger bass are most likely feeding on the same shad or the small bass. what size are the "small bass" that you were catching? try the same baits you were using to catch the small bass in a bigger size and in shad and baby bass. let us know how you do. also try a spinnerbait
  3. so your telling me you wouldn't run away? that makes no sense. humans have a natural instinct to survive so if a giant came and tried to kill us and running away is the only way to survive then so be it your instincs tell you to run. you would run to. we would be running because we wouldn't have anything to combat this "giant". same thing with snakes...people don't like them because you can't see them and all it takes is a split second to go bye bye.
  4. can i ask you as many questions as i want?
  5. check out the strike at 4:34 on the white spinnerbait. i bet a trailer hook would have caught that fish.
  6. i wouldn't eat that...lol
  7. oh my god i love bass fishing
  8. heyyyy man whats up?
  9. nice job dude it doesn't get any better
  10. heres a question. where did all the fish go to? how are they gonna get back in?
  11. IMO any time you hook a fish from outside in it is a foul hooked fish. the fish has to eat the lure or hook.
  12. i'm sure the companies that make the baits that he uses don't mind those lunkers he catches lol i like Bill, the problem is like some said its not realistic. he makes it look so easy that when people go to a lake and try it and catch nothing they get flustered. but then again its not like they took some idiot off the street gave him a boat and said here catch these fish. lets be honest. even if it is stocked to perfection you still have to catch them. also he may catch several 5s, 6s, 7s 8s, and then he has the 4, 3, 2, 1 etc.etc. then they edit out anything under.......lets say 2.8 pounds and leave everything 2.9 and up. another thing is you have to remember that the whole show is not him fishing. you have the begging where he does the intro for the show and then he shows you the lure hes going to be using and why the one hes using is better than a differnt brand etc etc. then a little time where he is talking to the camera about how the last fish took it or about the rod and reel etc. his show is good because he breaks down every last piece of the set-up. so you fisgure all the talking he does take ups 10 minutes of a 22 mintue (or so) episode there is not much left for catching even if it doesn't seem it.
  13. the only thing i can think of that hasn't been mentioned is a YUM Vibra King Finesse Tube weightless. rig it on a 1or2/0 EWG Gammy and tie a rubber band around the hook and slide it right up to the bend in the hook...because they are very salty and will slide down the hook as soon as they touch the water. also squirt the bait with some sent to hole the salt on it. these tubes realy do hold all that sent. they work great.
  14. ............Hanging out down on Main Street Living in a different world Standing around with the gang on the corner Talking about my girl Chilliwack?? ok now for mine....... 68 into the world born And the seventies, a breath after the war Life was confusing because of my age.............
  15. lol i bet you were like YES A BIG BA.....oooooohhh....lol the same thing happend to me today. except mine was a log. lol i'm sure the big bass will come. i've never caught anything over 2.8 pounds and i fish from the bank like you. try the bigger worms....but make sure you actually fish it. you have to gain confidence in it. don't just give up. its really hard. in my opinon its the hardest thing in bassin' but when you get that first fish it feels so good lol.
  16. right right. but i see this all the time on t.v and i always thought that you had to keep the bait clean 100% of the time....but if you are fishing weeds is that realistic?
  17. i know dude its nasty too lmao it gets bubbles in it and stuff. ewww my question is will a bass hit a worm or bait....that has a little of this stuff on it? or does it have to be totally clean?
  18. is it that nasty green gooey algae of like plants?
  19. yea the small fish (i.e. bluegill and small crappie) will most of the time try to rip the bait to pieces especially plastics. what they do is swim up to it in schools of 643265477432 and they each take a turn at ripping a piece off. then that piece is ripped over and over. this way everyone gets a little bit. its because they tend to have small mouths also. they can't fit a tiny minnow so they would rather rip it into bits. it could also be that they are just trying to kill it.
  20. all of these things are possible....if i'm not mistaken those Berkeley worms are real soft. bass has those sandpaper teeth designed to hold of to something obviously because their mouths are huge. So if he has the worm and the line is tick tick ticking don't set it....reel down on it as its ticking then when its starts to run away in a constant motion set it. the tick tick ticking is the bass bumbing into it with its lips because bass have taste buds on their lips ....or he is picking it up and putting it down really quickly.
  21. nice bass in the pic too
  22. sorry dude! i didn't mean to come off that way. i should have taken into consideration that in texas bass fishing is A LOT bigger than in new york. see here in ny i try to let people know the desperate need for Cn'R. reason being is that over the years the bass population has declined badly, so much so that the bass season doesn't even start until the first Sat in June(2 days ago) to protect bedding fish. in texas the bass population is simply better. you have to understand that taking 11 bass of that size in texas probably wouldn't hurt the overall population at all but here that is a lot of nice fish! a 2 pounder here is probably caught a lot more times in its life than one there because of the size of the lakes. the biggest lake on long island is 249 acres. also there are a lot less fisheries all together so each one is pressured that much more. none of that really matters it was my fault for realizing the differences between here and there. my mistake and sorry!
  23. ahha thats cool. i thought it was just something someone drew up because you look like a fisherman. if someone saw you on the street they would know you fish. Plus i'm a huge 100% supporter in catch and release. nice to meet you too. P.S. that thing could eat me
  24. ok i know this is probably the most asked question ever but i have a hard time with it. when you guys are at the lake without a boat or electronics or anything what techniques do you use to find the bass? thanks
  25. ahhh right i didn't think it had to do with rods, reels or baits lol
