Is there a barometric pressure you try to stay under?

Is there a barometric pressure you try to stay under?
I've heard many say high pressure can turn off the bite. It's a handy excuse when I have another crap day ?. So is there a barometric forecast that you look at and won't bother going fishing in? For example on my preferred water any wind over 12 mph is just a no-go for me so tend to pass if the next day forecast is calling for winds 12+.

What are your favorite techniques for finicky smallmouth on beds
Where to look for smallie bedding areas on streams that don't have much slack water areas? I fish a couple small streams that don't offer any quiet eddies. I'm picturing typical largemouth beds I see on lakes/ponds in shallow areas and can't think of similar locations on these streams I have started to fish....???

Piddly little hooks on my Rapala RipStop. Switch em out?
So...bought my first real jerk bait lure - the Rapala RipStop. It noticed it seemed to have smallish hooks but hookups were fine on several smaller fish. Then a hawg grabbed it, swum by the boat to show me his size, then got off. Those piddly little treble hooks Rapala used just didn't seem up to the task. Should I swap them out? Something too much larger will surely upset the action, but I am not going to be very confident continuing to throw it if there is a chance I could hook another good bass.

Will grubs from same maker melt or bleed when stored together?
My whole goal in mixing them was to reduce bulk in my tackle bag. It actually saved a good bit of bulk when I co-bagged 6 bags of grubs into single bag. I guess I could keep a fewer number of each in separate bags but that starts to increase bulk again. This is all part of a larger issue I'm trying to address of minimizing bulk/weight of my tackle I take on my kayak. I'm fine with my bag regardless of size/weight on my boat, but it has become unwieldy and heavy and bulky on my kayak. Ultimately I hope to reduce down to a single utility box for kayak day trips with a limited assortment of the lures I plan to use that day. But first I want to see if I can get my tackle bag down to a better size/weight before I do that. I already am using a fairly compact Cabelas Angler II tackle bag (which I really like) but it has become heavier than I thought and hard to store/reach behind my seat. Plan B is to buy a utility box and simply add tackle specific to each upcoming trip. This has me maintaining tackle in 2 separate locations which also has pros and cons to doing. What do any of you do around these issues?

Will grubs from same maker melt or bleed when stored together?
I bought some different colors of Kalin’s Lunker Grubs and to save space in my tacklebag I took a few of each grub and put them all together in one binder bag in my worm binder. I figured they were all the same type plastic so shouldn’t be a problem. A day later I’m fishing and notice some of the grubs have absorbed color from a different grub. Is it going to be a problem keeping them stored in the same bag?

Lose your rod kayaking?
It's not a question of if....but when...

Old school fishing reels (penn z series)
I have numerous 25+ year old fishing reels in service. They are not as smooth as my newer purchases for darn sure. It works this way for me: Fish with my new, smooth reels: I keep telling myself how nice they are and really enjoy using them Fish with my older reels I lovingly have maintained: I take great satisfaction using them and enjoy the experience almost as much as the new stuff At the end of the day nobody gives a rat's ass about me and I equally don't care about others opinions of using my old gear

Predator PDL cart help please!!
Dick's Sporting Goods sells the C-Tug and they frequently have a $20 off $100 deal going on their website. I used that and another coupon I had to get mine for $30 off, which I think make sit a great deal. They actually just have it drop shipped from yakgear or somebody like that. It really does assemble/disassemble in moments and stores easily in the front hatch of most kayaks. The wheels do not fit in my 8" front hatch but they secure easily to my milk crate in the back.

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
I see RAM-X makes a ball mount that uses the T-Bolt so I am good.

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
How can I attach one of these RAM-X mounts to the Scotty tracks on my kayak? I'd prefer to stick with that Scotty ecosystem and not attach a new base style. Is there a standard adapter to go from RAM-X ball to Scotty track or do I need to try and adapt that ball on the back of the phone mount to fit the track?

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
Again, I'm trying to set this up hands-free which I guess I naively thought should be doable in 2019! Looks like the best I can do is: mount camera a little forward in one of my track rails so it is not in the way while casting/paddling, possibly with the RAM-X mount When I need to take a photo I have to lean forward and enter my passcode tell Siri to 'take a selfie' to open the Camera lean forward and click the shutter button, then position the fish during the 3-second delay That's better than nothing I guess but might have to get a cheap Android to go totally hands-free. I feel like I should be able to just issue a voice command to get it to completely take the photo.

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
Yes, you can tell Sire to take the selfie but you still have to lean forward and push the button which i am trying avoid. There is no hands-free method available yet. It doesn't work hands-free. If it does tell me how you do it. For exaple how do you enter the passcode without touching the phone?

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
My work requires the passcode and I can't turn it off.

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
So researched the heck out of this and can't find a hands free solution since I'm using an iPhone. I want to mount the iPhone on something like one of these RAM-X holders and then issue a voice command to make the iPhone take the picture. In my case my iPhone requires entering a passcode (or my thumbprint) which I can't find a voice-activated way to perform this authentication to open the phone. I can tell it to take a selfie but it requires this passcode first, and I can download different camera apps that are voice activated, but again i would have to first log in to the phone before I can get these apps to work.

Trip to the greenbriar river
I would ask some of the local outdoor places because I recall hearing (years ago) that there were shuttle services that assisted hikers.

Max wind you will go fish in?
I either fish out of my 8' Bassbaby or my 10' kayak. The wind has been my nemesis a lot lately with several days recently having 15+ mph days. Often it makes me so mad while I fight it that I just wish I had stayed home, other times (less likely) I just make the best of it but still struggle constantly with boat position and casting. Just curious if you have a max forecasted wind you will go fishing in? Today I'm expecting 12 to 14 mph all day and wondering if I should subject myself to it. A little voice inside my head says 'Go...go...the bite should be picking up' but another little voice says 'the wind is going to make you regret coming out'

Clackity play/noise from Daiwa Legalis 1000 spinning reel thumb grip
I like this little Legalis 1000D spinning reel....except for noise coming from the thumb grip with each rotation of the handle. There is either slop the way it fits over the spindle or there is something up in there i need to clean out. Either way I want to remove the thumb grip to clean/inspect/lube it and see if it improves but I can't get it off! I assume it is meant to come off, but am not sure, so have not applied too much pressure to that chrome/plastic cap on the end. I tried to pry it off with a small flat blade screwdriver and it didn't pop off. Anybody remove one of these? I know my Shimano's have a plastic end that can be pried off to reveal a screw underneath, that's what I'm hoping I can do here. Just didn't want to mangle it if my approach is wrong...

How to super glue heat shrink to a wacky worm?
Gonna throw some wacky worm this season for the first time. I plan to use heat shrink to help keep the worm on the hook and shrunk a few pieces onto a few worms tonight. If I wanted to use super glue to help keep the worm from sliding out the shrink tubing do I apply the super glue before I apply the heat (like a drop up under the tubing) or just along an edge of the tubing after I shrink it down?

First fishing Kayak
I bought a Pelican Catch 100 about a month ago. I bought it to fish small rivers, streams and ponds and it has worked great. I like that it is smaller and lighter than my prior kayak, a Wilderness Systems Ride 135. Great seat in the Pelican. Others have commented it is easy to stand and fish out of, but the water is still too cold here for me to attempt that yet . I am appreciating the noticeably lighter weight in terms of loading, unloading and transporting to/from the water. I have already spent several days fishing in it and everything seems well made and designed. It has just the right amount of deck and storage space for me - not too big, not too small. It paddles easily and tracks straight while paddling, in fact better than I was expecting being so short (it is 10'). It does start to veer off course somewhat if you stop paddling so I may eventually add a DIY skeg. It hasn't been bad enough yet to rush off and do it. For the price (I paid $585 for mine) I think it is a great small kayak for small waters. I would try to sit in both a 100 and 120 before making a decision. Either one is going to be well constructed.

Taking fish photos with my iPhone in the kayak?
I am getting an iPhone 8 to replace my iPhone 7 I just lost. These are not waterproof but appear highly water resistant. I like the idea of a holder like the Ram-X if I can figure out how to tell it to snap the picture. All I can get it to do right now by voice is turn on the camera. How secure is is that Ram-X holder with the 4 arms? I may still want some kind of tether for that extra assurance.
