  1. I did purchase some weights at Sportsmans Warehouse the other day for around $2 a pop :-?
  2. Depends on what you're going for...combined, Dicks and SW provide a great selection of tackle and such....If there is something specific that BPS offers and the others don't then it's worth the trip. Plus you can figure in the shipping from the site and the cost for gas and see which would be more affordable...gonna probably be the shipping
  3. President bush was a fan of bass fishing...I'm not sure but Obama doesn't see to be the type so probably not...i think there are other concerns for him now though
  4. As far as I can tell....the only manufacturer offered through the demo program at this time is daiwa
  5. From my personal experience, I would say you should give the Pflueger Patriarch a chance
  6. It seems like a great reel. The old Tour's were workhorses and I wouldn't expect anything less. Quantum gets a bad rep but I feel like the new PT line is on par with all the rest and they're really easy on the eyes as well. During the classic coverage Hackney was using them and they sure were bright laying on his deck.
  7. I just received my new flipping stick that I ordered from Tackle Warehouse for $99. It's a 7'6''H Castaway Big Show flipping stick and I am pairing it with a Curado 200e7. The combo feels great. It's alot lighter than I expected
  8. The Patriarch is great a casting light baits...This weekend I was fishing a BPS Lazer Eye Nitro Extreme Shallow Crank which weighs about 3/8oz with 10lb Berkley Sensation and my 64LP casts it like a dream, even in strong winds. At no time was I close to a backlash with 4 pins engaged and 2 on the magnetic brake. The beauty of the UBS is that the external brake makes for easy and quick adjustment when the wind picks up.
  9. Too bad i'm at work and can't download the plugin :'(
  10. I have a new Curado that is a good reel but is far inferior to my patriarchs.
  11. as far as I can tell from the standings it looks as if it's a slow bite that he just can't get in on....I could be wrong...that was just my first thought
  12. I have an incyte spinning reel and a Energy EPT705 that I use for cranks and love both these reels. I also have a Code that I use from the bank...it's not my favorite reel but it has done me good so far
  13. This is true...we fished them side by side and switched after a fish and the baby bass outfishes it every time... so now it is not producing for me... and... This colr Cotton Cordell Wiggle O
  14. My favorite situation is me being situated on the back of a boat, since I don't havemy own, and not on the bank
  15. Just me and my dad inthe imediate family but alot of my cousins and uncles fish
  16. the way I understand it is that Red only defracts after certain depths in the water column, 3' or so, so putting it in a glass of water isn't allowing the color to defract out of the line...but I don't like red line so it doesn't matter to me
  17. Yeah...I would say shop around a bit and find a rod that is in your pirce range and good for your techniques. Personally, I buy rods that I can find deals on, and am not brand specific. My current rods are all different about half are BPS and all different models. I have a Kistler Magnesium, Carrot Stix Gold, BPS Extreme spinning, BPS Bionic Blade, BPS Pro Qualifier, BPS Crankin Stick, and the most I paid for any of them was 138 for the Carrot Stix Gold. There are alot of great deals on rods if you know where to look.
  18. don't get me wrong...they are good reels...just personally I couldn't buy 4 reels for 70 bucks when I could use tht money to buy somem patriarchs...if you like them, fish them....has nothing to do with anyone else but you....the seem like they will hold up.
