Your poll is kinda messed up. Like reelmech, I cast right handed and crank left handed. There should only be 2 choices, Cast right, crank left and Cast left, crank right Anyone else doing it otherwise needs to catch up and realize there is equipment made for both now. The old need to "switch hands" after casting is just that,....old. Sure, folks who learned this way out of necessity are bound to their bad habit, but it doesn't mean they can't catch fish,lol. In another 5-10 yrs of lefty reels being on the market, this should be an issue of the past.

Pflueger included? What are your experiences? I've never had one straighten, or fail in any way personally. That might be a tough one, many of the posse folk will agree that Daiwa, Shimano, Abu are all of the same caliber, it's a matter of personal preference. I think you'll find that even though they choose elsewise, they wouldn't go so far as to say that the Daiwas suck

That's awesome. I'm looking to do this with my rods now. Buy 4-6 customs and pack them full of karma over the next 30,40,50 yrs I think that connection to your gear is a big part of why fishing is so cool to me. After 20 yrs, grabbing that rod out of the corner as you leave for the lake is like high fiving your best friend when you are teamed up in a tournament and you just landed a 7. Fishing is memories and nothing can bring back a memory like a faithful friend.

No, it IS the calendar yr and is compared to previous yrs avg's. You have to start somewhere when recording all the info. Jan 1 works for most. Ex. We may have gotten 10 ft of snow in Dec but only 1 inch so far in Jan. For the yr, our snowfall amounts are "down". For the winter season, they are up. Nov and dec were heavy snow months but those are inches that fell in 07, not 08. See? As long as they follow the same format consistently, it's all good info.

Ditto. In 20 yrs, we have found some of the real estate that only the big girls will own. We have caught the same fish consistently though the yrs and have watched them age, die off and be replaced by the next up coming big girl. Just like with humans,.....quality real estate is always in demand
