May I suggest you try demo versions. I use microsoft picture it and fireworks multi media Even the Fireworks starts to get too complicated for me. The better programs can get very confusing and technical. I was thinking of taking a class in one of the programs or one of those tutorial discs. let me know what you go with.

1998 Xpress 16' Boat
They can handler "light" water but..... We rented one in Fork, 2 yrs ago. If the weather was "ok" we could venture anywhere. A little bit of wind though and the main lake was "off limits" to us. (of course, you can "get" anywhere, but it might be at a snails chug as opposed to "wide open") Test run it on the biggest lake you will fish, on a somewhat windy day. Good luck

When did you last catch a fish?

2008 member challenge ideas
Muddy, this is merely documenting the Buddy to buddy competition we all feel when are "just fishin'" All it is is next time you go with Ron, make a small bet on Biggest fish. report the day back in "Outings" No big deal. It's more FUN than COMPETITION It's not like "Joe Tournament" is going to ppost up....."I'm coming to PA and I challenge MUDDY MAN",...no,.....just friends having fun but documenting it. The bet can be as simple as "You load the car" at the end of the trip. "Rinse and wipe down the opponents gear", something like that. Think about it, Zel calls, says he wants go out saturday morning, do a "catch or fetch", the loser buys breakfast after. It's a WIN/WIN with a little Honor and fun thrown in.

Question for the Rhode Island guys out there in re: R.I. Bass record
It was broken a few yrs back. The record before that was 10.2, also caught on opening day in trout waters. Those Cali guys ain't dumb Have I gotten those gears in your head turning yet? These RI bass that live in trout stocked waters are conditioned to know that any day now, trout are going to start pouring in here. What a great way to start your yr, to have your pond flooded with trout. High protein meals that build some good fat so there's plenty of energy for a strong, healthy spawn. THEM'S BREEDER FISH BOY!! Be prepared for some funny looks from the Orvis carrying, wader wearing, fly fisherman when you stand next to him with a 15" rubber trout on a 7 ft heavy rod I love opening day.

Whats your worst part of bass fishing
Other: 1.Not being able to go 1a. ICE

Five-Inch Thin Senkos
Does that have a flat side? either way, I like it
-
Five-Inch Thin Senkos
I think I would even throw the 7's if they came in a "slim"
-
Five-Inch Thin Senkos
A slim 6"...........RW, would you try one of those??? I know I sure would. Probably a little better action, better fall rate...(than a reg 6") Does anyone make one? Brent?

Five-Inch Thin Senkos
**MOD NOTE_ I'm getting sick of cleaning this up, everyone settle down or we'll just lock it and move on. The topic here is thin senkos, STAY ON IT
-
Five-Inch Thin Senkos
Point taken, and a good one. In defense, Brent's were the first and only ones I've ever seen. Although my main point here is to say that your thought process, after using them, is probably dead on. They seem to catch the same fish as the 5's, I just use them to give them something slightly newer. It's the highlighted part of your thread that will never, ever, neverever sink in with me. I mean,...who wants to catch more fish,....lol I know, I know, you want bigger ones,.... Back on topic.... This bait, a brandless, 5 " long, slightly thinner than "normal" ,long and slender-cigar shaped, salt impregnated, often multi colored, soft plastic bait would also make for a tender little drop shot morsel.

Poll question for right or left hand fishing
I have to strongly disagree with this theory. From MY experinces anyway. whether it is a spinning or a baitcasting set up, I use the rod to move the fish, not the reel. To say a B/C is supposed to be used as a wench but a spinning reel isn't ,...just doesn't make sense to me. Do you just pooint the tip mof the rod at the fish if using a b/c??? I use the rod to pull or turn the fish and the reel to take up the slack. I do this regardless of the type of set up. I am also right handed. I hold the rod in my right hand, regardless of set up because, regardless of set up, I use my power arm to do the power aspect of the angling and for me, that's not "powering" a reel to crank in the lin,...it's "powering" the rod to pull the fish. The heavy work is always done by my dominant arm. The heavy work is also done with my rod more than my reel (B/c and spin). I simply match the 2 up. I THINK Gw's comments apply to saltwater, not fresh. Take a Penn 130 for example. You are in a seat, with the rod strapped onto you and set in a gimbal bracket. You use your legs to power the rod here, NOT your arms. IN THIS CASE, the reel hand would be on the dominant side (right) because AS FAR AS YOUR ARMS GO, the reeling hand needs to be stronger because reeling has now become the bulk work since we took the rod out of the equation. Wherever GW read that, I am sure it was meant to address this situation, not one where you are holding the rod completely alone, like when bass fishing. My opinion. (but it is regarding saltwater) so back to freshwater... None of these answers are wrong, it's a personal preference. I personally think there is a dangerous pause when switching hands, a pause that leaves the line somewhat unattended for a split second. Denny Braur is always persistent about KEEPING your fingers on the reel knobs because that split second reaction time can cost you a fish. I see the same scenario with having to switch hands. Is is "wrong". Nope. Does it mean you can't make it to the classic if you do this? nope. Does it mean I am better than you if I don't? certainly not. I'll weigh in here with my theory...I think it's largely an issue of "labeling". Yep. A person thinks that because they are right handed, the "right-handed" b/c is what they should use because well...just because they use right-handed everything else in the world (invert everything for you left-handers). It may seem awkward and uncomfortable at first, but because they have been led to believe that this is a "right-handed' reel, by gosh, they are gonna learn to use it like they are supposed to. Eventually, they become use to it and can't remember thinking they should use it any other way. I am one who reels with my left hand with a spinning reel, but my right hand with a b/c, but to be honest, it has become such a habit and so natural, I don't even realize that I am changing. But at the same time, I think that if you gave me an opposite handed reel of either model (spinning or b/c) it would be awkward even though I use that hand for the other. Doesn't make sense...does it? It does. I was the same way till I actually tried one of the LH b/c's. Now, I couldn't imagine being able to walk a spook so tightly, etc,if were controlling the rod w/ my left hand. I'm one of the few who used the R/H ones in yrs past and then switched to spinning but has come back to B/c's now that they are made for lefties too.

I guess I have broken more laws then I thought.
Rhode Island Any marriage where either of the parties is an idiot or lunatic is null and void. Yes, I'm single.... Exercising any labor, business, or work, or using any game, sport, play, or recreation, or causing any of the above to be done to or by your children, servants, or apprentices on the first day of the week (Sunday) results in a penalty of $5 for the first offense and $10 for the second. In Providence, Rhode Island it is illegal to sell toothpaste and a toothbrush to the same customer on a Sunday. In Newport, Rhode Island it is illegal to smoke from a pipe after sunset. In Scituate, Rhode Island it is illegal to keep a flock of chickens in your motorhome if you live in a trailer park. Impersonating a town sealer, auctioneer, corder of wood, or a fence-viewer is against the law. Penalty: $20 to $100 fine. It is considered an offense to throw pickle juice on a trolley. It is illegal to challenge someone to a duel, or accept a duel, even it it is never actually fought. Penalty: Imprisonment for one to seven years. Count the RI guys out of the 2008 "Catch or Fetch" ;D It is illegal to coast downhill in your car with your transmission in neutral, or with the clutch disengaged. It is illegal to place a windmill within twenty-five (25) rods of any traveled street or road. It's a misdemeanor to keep more than 11 inoperable vehicles in front of a house. Professional sports, except ice polo and hockey, must obtain a license to play games on Sunday. Providence There is not an appeals process for exemption of property tax due to a disability or poverty. It is illegal to wear transparent clothing. There goes my business venture,...sorry guys,..no LBH clothing coming now.. ;D Riding a horse over any public highway for the purpose of racing, or testing the speed of the horse is illegal. Penalty: Maximum $20 fine and imprisonment for 10 days. This state still prohibits unmarried people from having sex under any circumstances. However, if caught, the lovers are both fined only 10 dollars Lemme see, that's like $25 I owe the state!! It didn't even COST me that much!! ;D West Warwick It is illegal to use water on even-numbered days for the sole purpose of watering plants, gardens, or lawns. If you break this law there is a fine of $25-$100. This is well known, it's to conserve water during drought. Some communities do "odd/even" watering days You may not sell toothpaste and a toothbrush to the same customer on a Sunday.
