  1. We are with you in spirit buddy, so sorry for your loss. He obviously died a loved man.
  2. That's gotta be rewarding Zara. Next time you scout, use a camera in place of a weapon. I bet if you were full camo w/ your back to a tree, you could get some amazingly close shots. Good luck next week.
  3. Long Mike- YUP ;D
  4. jomatty- sorry, hence the word "teaser",lol. Nothing crazy, we were pretty pumped to have caught at all but there were 2 in the boat that day, credit going to the new secret jighead /finesse worm combo that stratosdadri hooked me up with at the CAST tourny. Other than that....ya gotta wait for the video. KU- Man,...are we on the same page,...bigtime. I'm a believer in "earning" them too.
  5. "Dinger" And "Dumpster" and in the last pic, you can see charles, the cray. I only had him for about 3 or 4 minutes though, lol. (in front of the deer skull)
  6. No. I have a Shimano tackle bag filled with all Shimano boxes and I'm not a Posse member. Just couldnt pass it up at a yard sale for $5 bucks. ;D lol...found mine at the lake. It was full of the smaller yamamoto senkos. I gave those to a kid that always fishes the shore there. I asked his mom if we could get him off land a yr or 2 ago but he cannot go on a boat due to a skin condition. He can't get wet. Wierd huh? Something about the way his skin regulates water penetration. If he happened to fall in, he's in big trouble. Poor guy. So we hook him up whenever we can. 5bass, although many of you don't know this,...is a Low Budget Hooker also. I'm thinking he's going to need a team shirt asap
  7. funny you mention the 10" rebel. We were fishing my buddies small pond, he had some other company come over. One guy was a newbie, to say the least. He showed up with a saltwater ugly stick and that rebel lure(but a broken back one). we all thru $5 in the pot, winner take all, 7 guys. We had a grand ole time making jokes about the new guy and his equipment but he was a great sport about it, making jokes against himself even,...he just wasn't experienced, that's all. Guess who took my money home that night. You just never know till you try I guess. when the water warms up a bit, I'm going to give a few choice baits a try.
  8. 2 biggest issues- Fish them slow Fish them on the proper gear (stout rods/wide spool, round body reels)
  9. It's that time again folks. For those of you who are new to the site, we make a 'members video" every time we get another 1000 members. We skipped "8000" because it was winter, very slow, and very few pics available. Please, especially if this is your first, send me a pic or video clip of yourself to be featured in the video. SEND ALL MEDIA TO membersmedia@gmail.com To view a few of the previous ones, click on the video name HERE
  10. Welcome aboard Wayne!
  11. Marlboroman- I have a few rods leftover from last years CAST For Kids event here in Providence. If you'd like to pay shipping, I'll gladly send you one for your son. These are fantastic set-ups, I was extremely impressed at what zebco gives these kids for gear. Like I said, all yours if you'd like. They are 6' med cork grips with an all metal "33" ISLAND-simply adorable, what a sweet lookin' kid. Her dad seems to enjoy making her smile too,...good stuff man!
  12. I was going through some of my salt water stuff. These got me thinking. What are some of the larger baits out there? Bigger is better right? I was thinking of relaying my salt stuff into the fresh water. Tomorrow we will be pulling daisy chains rigged with rubber perch, lol (I kid, I kid) ...but seriously, one guy that lives on our lake also fishes salt with me. Last year he took out the wrong box when I picked him up from his shore. I offered to go back but he said "don't worry about it, a fish is a fish". He had his saltwater box. He was right. From his box, he chose a big 11" topwater, like a pencil popper that has a cup up front for popping. He hit 2 fish over 5 pounds and continued to be successful with it all summer. Now, this is topwater, probably one of the most "transferrable" types of baits. My question is,...how about salt water jigs, Bucktails to 5 oz, rat-l-traps to 4 ounces, etc. One issue I can see is the rod needed to loft these baits may be too much rod for the quarry we are chasing but other than that,...anyone ever give this train of thought a run?
  13. Redtail your lake is different. You have heavy milfoil combined with a pretty strong algae bloom. The fronds of the milfoil are tough enough but when the algae get on those arms, forget it, muck city. If we had some more time to hunt, we may have found a different type of bottom. What is the bottom like in that 20-25 ft section? Check your graph and see if you can find some hard bottom in there because throwing a jig around that milfoil is pointless. A chatterbait or swim jig would be your best bet but that's not the type of jigging you are trying to become proficient at. To learn the jig a little better, hunt out some condusive water. If you have trouble finding some,....you know where I live jomatty also makes a good point, I don't know if it's fact or not but in my experiences, go as light as you can get away with whenever you are jigging. Open water, bank beating, etc, not talking about punching mats or any "specialized" type presentation, just everyday jigging. My best producer in our lake is an 1/8 oz finesse or grass jig with a full wire hook.
  14. If Clay had the time to reply, I'm sure he would say, the video isn't about me,...it's about you. If he can,...YOU can. That's the message.
  15. Yea, I know,...a little obsessive/compulsive with the organization,...can't help it,..LMAO The Low Budget Ziplok bag system (Soft sided) ;D
  16. How about an LBH speedo for the guys (thong style) with your pic on the front? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Use your own lures!! ;D ;D --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whitemike. Watch the video below, there are a bunch of them in it. 17. It's the gods,KU,...the gods are always watching.... (not a religious thread, lol)
  18. ESPN2 may be able to help you there, they did an excellent segment on him.
  19. When we went to Vegas for the CAST convention, Clay had just been named the CAST spokesperson. Having scheduling differences, he made this message and had it overnighted to the hotel we were at. This is a message for everyone. If you have kids, go get 'em. '>MESSAGE FROM CLAY
  20. Well not ALL of it....I plead the 5th
  21. Philly blunts for before fishing, jewel sweets for during and a nice opus for dessert.
  22. FB- Hoping to have female clothing as well Nothing wrong with an LBH thong unless you find yourself thinking of me when you see it,lmao.
  23. Oh man,...here we go again. I had a mini migraine this weekend, happens every once in a while, doesn't always mean the beginning of a cluster but then last night I had a kip 9 migraine (KIP is the "pain" scale, 1-10) Those are no joke. There is no standing up, no ability to vocalize anything, etc. Getting to the bathroom to puke involves crawling. Unfortunately I am out of Imitrex right now. Looks like THAT'S gotta change TODAY! This sucks, been up since 4am with a long day ahead of me at an inner city school with United Way. It's career day. Just needed to vent a second, the anxiety is building up fearing another cluster. Being caught w/ no Imitrex is no joke and a fool move on my part. Never again. oh yeah,......Howdy P_Rock!!!
  24. Great jig choice,....one of my favorite!! All my '07 fish have come off that jig but for 2 which came on my new secret that stratosdadri turned me onto. They even liked it at Fork. Very weedless. Way to go,...many more to come!
  25. Oh they're biting,...and good! I fish the coldest lake in the state, water just hit 39 degrees yesterday, many lakes/ponds in the state are up in the mid to upper 40's now. JIG<JIG<JIG!!! Where were you fishing? (just for the record, state record pickerel is just over 6 pounds and that fish is about 34" long, lol. Looks an awful lot like this guy below . Pickerel can be deceiving when it comes to weight but a blast to catch IMO)
