Are you surprised ???
In short, it's a matter of discipline. The guy who wishes for a DD but uses smaller fish techniques is doing exactly that....wishin', and there is still a chance his wish could come true but again, the odds are stacked against him Frank- 2 words are all you need to know,......Huddleston Deluxe.

Chevy & Mother's Resume
Hey girl, welcome back. JT has a good point. another example. To many of us, we already see that the fact mom owns the shop says that the sponsors product will be in the publics eye. Explain how you would use the shop for product exposure, etc. Get more pics. I'll be the one to say it but a good looking girl sells product and you are fortunate to have that going for you, use it. You and mom make a cute mother/daughter team, push that too. Notice all Marcia's pics. She's always having fun and some of the pics actually show her in action. A pic of Chevy explaining a bait to a youth in the store, at the rack, tourny shirt on,...comes to the front of my mind. Things like that. SELL SELL SELL Also. Personalize the resume for each company you submit it too. For example. Lets say "Solar Bat" is the company you are approaching. Do your homework. Perhaps, in your area, there are only a few places that sell angling gear, yours being one of them. Explain how the area has 2 stores, one carries costa del mar only. There is an opening for someone to fill the other aspects of that market other than the $150 pair of shades. A niche that is open is a great selling tool if you provide a solution to fill that niche. Offer a full package to get that product in your area. Store sales, stickers, name on shirt, promos at store and tournys run from store/marina, etc

1436 jon boat needs help
no,the floors are free floating, they just sit on the ribs. You can take them out and brush them off, nice and clean The boat is a 1964, if you look at the "before" pictures, the seats come with that lip. We are doing my buddy's boat in a few weeks and his has the "rolled over" edge (2004 g3 1236). We will be adding "starboard" (similar to the stuff Triton uses in replacement of wood) to create that lip so when it is carpeted, there will be a crush-proof, finished edge, like mine. I will be screwing it in with 8 wide bite stainless screws (countersunk) Then carpet over it and add seats (he just got same pedestals as me) Keep the questions coming, this is all easy stuff to do with basic tools and beginner skill

The site "InSight"!
Thanks for noticing I think everyone wants to be from a "happy home". Glenn's vision included this place being just that kind of home for many of us. As for 5bass, he deals a lot with the "tournament" and "club" based topics,....we specifically chose a bald dude for that position, lol.

1436 jon boat needs help
CLICK HERE to see how we did my 12' jon. We have Erics kids out on this boat a lot and it really has proven to be a great set up for us. The big benefit here is the floors. Eliminating tripping obstacles, keeping your stuff out of the floor water (from anchor, etc) and having a flat place to stand is huge, ehile still keeping the center of gravity low in the boat. Feel free to ask questions. (Erics boys are 5 and 6.5)

State Your RAIN GEAR 101
If you truly want to stay dry, remember 2 words-Gore tex I personally use North Face gear. Head to toe. Cabelas guidewear also gets lots of thumbs up from guys. Personally, I have owned the 100mph gear from BPS--WAY too stiff, non-ergonomic cuts. I like a garment that has "fitted" cuts. A piece of clothing designed to move and sit naturally with the contours of your body. North Face has mastered this. BPS, doesn't yet know it exists, lol. As for frogg toggs, they are very "packable" but they are also like wearing a big garbage bag. WAAAAAy too bulky, no gore-tex and they wear out. Also look for extra support and the butt and knees. Be aware when buying the lower end "waterproof" stuff. Most is just a regular suit covered in a scotchguard type application. This stuff wears off and maintenence is required. I know there are a few in-depth posts on this. I did a quick search but couldn't find them. I'll look deeper later., off to work for now.

Fish photography.....
Fish, you're a great ambassador for our sport so it doesn't surprise me but people get $$ for shots like yours. Kudos and thanks for freely sharing. Now, the guy that made $$ off that older pic without your permission,...that's another story, I would have nailed him to the wall. Says a lot for your character I guess. (and not so much for mine, lol)

One less pond to fish.
Wow, and I thought it was just R.I. that had an out of control litter problem. We do have it pretty bad. Thing that ticks me off is especially at gorton pond right near the bank before the police station most of the trash is clearly from anglers. I think people should be more harsh on littering. Next time you see someone throw something on the ground rub their face in it, smack them on the nose and tell them how bad they are. Alex Gortons is 2 miles from my house. I have never fished there. I wanna give it a shot, maybe put the boat in at Ericksons and go under the bridge. I know you can get a boat in there but are you sure you can get one under the bridge? There are some decent sized fish in there as far as I know. The guy that took 2nd at the CAST event has an 8.3 out of there. It's very deep. But......enough about our great state,lol,...back on topic please

One less pond to fish.
We try to stay proactive with this issue as well. Our lake is semi-private and every time we go, we make sure to grab any and all trash we can find, no matter what. I've scaled banks, climbed hills and made my way through some ugly bramble patches to retrieve trash. Most of it is just discarded out the car window by residents themselves, or people that use that road to travel to and from their destinations, not by anglers. This doesn't mean that the people who live there wouldn't be quick to blame us "outsiders" so we pick up everyones trash and give them no ammo. The place is just too special, not to mention that the residents who do know us personally and allow us access are being kind enough. It's the least we could do to help keep their neighborhood clean for them IMO. Alos,..BE SEEN doing it so there is no question that the guys with the boat "most likely" aren't the culprits as they are often seen walking the road, looking for cans, cig packs etc. Nothing burns me more than seeing someone blatantly and casually tossing a can or something out the window. It's obvious that the car behind them (me) can plainly see!! It's like they don't even know it's wrong. Are there still people out there who are THAT ignorant or are they just THAT pitiful?
