  1. ditto, minus the weedless here.
  2. Avid, no need to mince words,lmao,....tell us how you really feel.
  3. MINGO FISHTRAP- featured in most of my videos
  4. Sad thing is, alot more guys/girls will be returning with the same effects. It's all common sense conditioning, certainly nothing to be ashamed of, but I imagine it would be frustrating trying to tell your instinctive mind that it is safe. Conditioning that kept you alive is now holding you hostage. I hope time helps heal some wounds.
  5. agreed. IMO, many folks who claim they would never sit on a fish for 4 hrs, myself included, are not talking about the fish of a lifetime for most, like that one. I hold to my claim that I wouldn't do it but there are exceptions,of course. If I had the chance to go learn fish behavior for 8 hrs with the likes of Fishchris, or Randall, I would gladly target 1 hawg for the day. You know where she is now FC, good luck, can't wait for the pic.
  6. recon- Welcome to the club. No need to disclose anything, if you feel the desire to, we are here. Support and respect of the others, as you've shown, is the only pre-requisite for the BFFF club. A very big welcome home to you also. "Thank You" from the Thetonia family-RI,USA
  7. Awesome fish supermat!
  8. swinging a sledge hammer for 4 hrs in 2 degree weather isn't my kind of "adventure",lol. You need to remember that when the 1/2 hr show is over, they are still fishing. 20 hrs on, 4 off. Sub zero temps and hard labor the whole time. One slip can kill you. No thanks. go overboard and you have a 1 in 1000 chance of living, IF YOU ARE PLUCKED OUT!! NO THANKS!
  9. I know...I know, but ever since Pap died I have wanted to hunt with this thing. That's understandable. (so you know-Hunting questions are more than acceptable in "everything else". )
  10. YEEEHA!!!! That's a beautiful family right there. Congrats,I'm glad all went well. Russ
  11. Some more pics Matt 5.0 Cigarlover and Alpster watching the weigh in. Kickoff NATHAN JAMES and posse The Temple of Music always make for nice scenery Startosdadri and Alpster Dirk Jig-Lure
  12. Man, what a GREAT day!! The weather turned out to be beautiful. A sunny, sunny day when earlier in the week they were calling for a cold drizzle. Because of this event, every child that attends a RI CAST event will recieve a life jacket to keep. This is a main drive of ours right now, to give every child a pfd. We feel it is our duty if we are going to introduce these kids to a shoreline activity. This is something CAST as a national org is also trying to secure at the moment. For now though, thanks to everyone involved,...RI is covered I'd like to thank all the folks that stepped up to the plate and took a swing for CAST For Kids. The more I work with these folks, the better idea I have of what a great group of anglers we have here in RI. A thank you is in order for our board members that came out also. Matt 5.0 & friend, NATHAN JAMES (and his 3 friends), ALPSTER,bass hole, cigarlover and friend,..thank you guys for participating and to a few of you who traveled from out of state just to support us, you guys are awesome and THANK YOU!!! On behalf of the kids and everyone here at CAST, we can't thank Mike and his daughter Delainey enough. This is a fishy, fishy family. The only thing they do better than fishing is caring. This day would not have happened if Delainey hadn't stepped up. This is something she surely learned from her dad. Thanks to Scott & Shannon Horridge for pulling Pizza delivery duty. These guys never let me down. Aces. Thanks to bass hole for his patrolling the park mid-week and for letting us use his truck as a stage THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU everybody!!!!!!!!!!! I can't say it enough. (I have some short vids and some more pics of the day that I will share with everyone when I get home from work tonight.) Thank you once again to everyone involved. Delainey....you rock!! We are all rooting for you to get an A+ on this. You've already gotten one from us.

  14. There is a way but it involves inserting a probe into the poop chute. A biologist can tell but not an everyday layman. females grow to be larger overall but just because you see a big fish on a bed, doesn't mean it's a female. Fluke was working a 5-7lb fish at Fork. Didn't work, he scared it off........then the female moved in looking like a 14 lb russian sub underwater. That 5-7 was the MALE!!
  15. Dude for some one who fishes as hard as you I'll pitch in to get you a shirt Nonsense. I have plenty of plain white shirts that I can "mookify" Now THAT's mooknificent. Make sure it's a cheesy, thin white T-shirt and by all means, have the shirt ON, use permanent black marker, look down and write "Mook". It will be upside down, backwards, and duplicated on your chest. If that doesn't self christen you as a mook, you don't wanna be one!
  16. not to the human eye. I'll film the fish tank again.
  17. I gotta apologize for this one guys, I re-read it and I sound like the guy I hate, lol. I'm just saying I would like to do an on lake comparison in much more detail, with someone other than Eric. He has long since been converted and although he'd be happy to fish the Yamamoto's again as a test, he won't pay for them. So he's out. I still want to do this though, if anyone in my neck of the woods is interested. Document every fish, build some data to analyze.
  18. I don't know if I would say ANY bait, but CONFIDENCE is key. Almost as key as being in the right place. Some knock offs (not many) are just too stiff. (picasso worms comes to mind) but for the most part, many of the knock offs come from the same factory. The same factory in fact that pours for yum, culprit and a few other big boys in the biz. I honestly can't see a bass holding on to a soft plastic longer because it's a slight bit softer. Soft is soft. Remember, they don't just eat the "softest" food out there. With a diet that includes crayfish and other spiney, crunchy critters, I can't see the slight difference being an advantage. If it is, which it very well could be, I still don't see it being significant enough to justify the price difference. Espesially when you consider the "loss" rate of the softer bait. Now there are those that say no price is too much for ANY advantage. I respect that but I respect earned confidence more than bought confidence.
  19. Warning: Slayer on the loose
  20. I dub thee.......PAPAMOOK
