  1. My experiences would have me disagreeing with Doug. In our super clear lake, the larger class fish are very attentively weary. They earned their size. These fish are frequenting places at night that they know better than to go to during the day with birds of prey around and such. When these fish get in areas like a flat, a place you won't find then during the daylight hours, they are very skittish. They are feeding, granted, but they tend to be more aware, I would assume from years of knowing that the flat is a danger zone 50% of the time. Stealth appraoches to key areas is a must on our lake at night. This is where "subtle" baits, especially if you insist on a topwater, can really be the cats meow.
  2. Fluke has a good tip. If he is torn between colors, simply hold them up using the dark sky as a backround and go with the one with a more defined sillouette. The original question, however, is ONLY dasrk colors at night. Treu or false. FALSE, they can all work There are lots of variables, color is just one and to me, at night, it's the least important. Which lure and how and where you are using it is much more important TO ME. In other words, If you aren't sitting in 20 ft, throwing up onto the flat, color won't matter because you aren't where the fish are. Much more importaqnt variables to work out before color comes into play. PS- Night baits don't have to be loud or big. "Subtle" also works at night.

  14. Just got my Tienna. Appears to be very well made, tolerances are great, very smooth. I'll be giving a 1 week review when I get back from fork if I catch anything
  15. With that in mind, there is no time like the present. The lake most likely won't produce like this forever and the cycle will change again. My home lake, as productive as it seems, is classed by the EPA as "dying" at the current moment. Being a water supply, they are now in the process of altering this natural cycle to fit the communities needs. Time will tell what it will do to the fishing. If I were FishChris, I would be using every sick day I had left right about now. Gotta strike when the striking is good, who knows where the future of any one particular fishery will go.
  16. He has moved on.
  17. Ever been on the wrong end of one of those? That ain't funny. :-/ I have my weapon of choice being delivered
  18. I think the fit is actually quite common, Glenn has just provided a gathering place. In general, you're fishing partner is often a long term friend. Many problems have been hashed over with a best friend on the water, it's just a natural place to work things out and a best friend 's opinion or support is most often welcome. This site is where we gather when we are not afloat. In a sense, Glenn has made another honey hole that we can share with people from ALL OVER THE PLACE. It's no surprise that although many here have not met in person (yet), we find the same relationships building that we normally build in a boat. Welcome to the dry dock boys, pull up a chair and join in the brotherhood. Who needs a bass club when you have a whole bass community.
  19. I'm pretty sure redlinerobert has that spot filled already, lol
  20. Dammit,....the guns,....I forgot the guns..... 8-)
  21. Conditions are holding so far. 1/2 packed. Remember folks, pics and footage of pre-trip preperations are wanted.
  22. I do, every time I go. It's more out of excitement to be where I want to be, doing what I want to do,...more than anything. I don't even compete but the excitement gets me going for sure.
