First bass on jig! (slamming them again 3/14)
Way to go guys and nice job sharing the knowledge!! So what have you learned? Ice out-jigs, jigs, jigs. If I can make a suggestion, use a slightly lighter jig and reel it as slow as possible but fast enough to keep it off the bottom. (a slow swim) This has been just deadly in our back coves which range from 1-4 ft, mostly about 2 ft deep. They are loving that skinny, warm water but once the sun starts going away, so will the fish. Be there early when direct sun first hits those waters and keep casting, they will come. When they do, hang tough, they will come in waves. You can stick a nice pack of 2 pounders and then nothing for an hour then you'll hit 3 four pounders in a row. They come in groups. This is how it works at our lake, just offering another somthing to try. Stay on 'em!!

My last Fork trip....
Thanks for the report BH. Sounds like a great day of fishing! You guys need to either send each other a pic of your boat so you can recognize each other or exchange numbers. Funny though, on a place the size of Fork, 2 bassresourcers were 50 yards apart and on some nice fish. Coincindence??

New PB on a Mattlures
Great story 4bizz. Congrats to dad and to you for "hooking" him up These are the days it's all about.

Whoooooo Hoooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) :-)
The size of the fish, the methods used,...no surprise for me considering who we are talking about here. The thing that really blew my mind was the clarity of the pics. Beautiful patterns on those fish and photographed to illustrate it. PS. The guy in that tent on your lawn this morning is RW. Hook him up and send him off to Fork when you're done please.

night time
I use the same colors at night as during the day. Even then, color isn't of much importance to me. HUE is the main factor. Light or dark but natural either way.

Guns and roses.
It takes a long time to make an album when noone can get the singer out of his house, lol. But at least they found him this time! Plus, having 3/4 of the band members having to get back to rehab between songs,.....takes awhile

My first good trip of the year :-) (photos)
They'd say he earned it All the hours and you almost got nipped in the DD tail by a case of flukemasteritis, lol. Glad the weight kept up, as I said, you earned it and it couldn't happen for a more respectable angler. It is easy to forget all the "had a great day" threads started by FC that ended with no fish in the boat. Those were still great days because of the days like this in between. That message hidden between those lines says alot. Cheers to FISHCHRIS!!

keeping confidence
I just go to the lake not planning on catching. Anything you hook up with is an extra. Lake Fork really tested this one last year and sure enough, this Sunday, I'll be back. Helps you remember what's it's about too. For me anyway.

what is the proper way to set a hook
The hookset video and most all of the clips in our other vidoes are used merely to show that you don't have to be afraid to set up on 'em. Many of those hooksets are from senko fish, allowed to run till the camera was ready (seconds, but still), some were even live lined shiners. We (I) produce the videos as entertainment as opposed to training and education. So with this in mind, Do as I do and not as I say and you'll have a blast, but you may not be right, lol. The key element in all those shots is the smile he IS pretty much married, ;D I don't know how else his wrists got that strong, that's his biz,lol but he does tend to slay 'em, whatever he's doin', I'll bet he ain't quittin'. I'm still not sure If I'm buddy, Eric is buddy?? Hawg is baitcaster buddy because Dirk and I arent using them there. Am I buddy 1 and the others buddy 2, 3? I'm lost on that stuff.

Bank fishing
You definately don't want to do that,..... you want to use a rod with some backbone left in it. ;D

TWO MOOKS IN A BOAT IS NOW DOWN TO 1 MOOK
Fishing is fishing, it's more about the sharing. Muddy and Ron have been support systems for each other, good times and bad and I think THAT'S the main thing you'll be missing but like Glenn said, you guys will be friends forever. With the phones we have these days, he's never more than 10 numbers away.

2nd annual BR.com roadtrip!!!
THAT'S the attitude!! Brent and I can take someone else aboard if need be also, like Glenn said, just get there. I can also hotwire a boat in less than a minute if worse comes to worse lol plugs, wires, computer,CDI, pulsor coil,stators,...replace it all, lol. BEEN THERE!! Good luck with her. A reminder about the pics. There will be A FEW group pics done throughout the trip. I would like to remind everyone that we would like some footage/pics of everyone getting ready at home. Also, I plan to collect everyones media after dinner each night. Please bring your daily footage/stills to dinner along with any cables needed for downloading with your camera. DON'T FORGET THE CABLES!!!!

what is the proper way to set a hook
No, no,no,...not a slam at all, just asking who "buddy" is. I want to go check out his video If you said "roland" or "skeet", I would assume I knew who you were referencing but "Buddy" isn't one I recognize.

Big problem with small engine
BD-Glad you got it all worked out. Hopefully you learned a bit about upkeep too I, personally, hate "dealerships". I suggest trying to find either a motorcycle repair shop or a small engine repair shop and get to know the owner. I got lucky, I used to do a route where I delivered to a small engine guru. Young guy, very cool, races anything with 2 wheels. When it came time to have my jet engine worked on (essentially a 701cc 2 stroke), Dave was a huge help. Mind you, he does not do boats. Mainly a moto shop. Most motorcycle shops don't deal with boats because of space, etc What I thought the problem was would have cost roughly $400 in parts. He spent 20 mins with the volt/amp meter. With labor, it was resolved for $84. I was going to replace the whole stater plate assembly, he took the plate off and replaced only the pulsor coil. (plate holds 3 different coils) This is somthing Yamaha won't even do. They will only replace the whole plate. Dave has a customer for life. (and the UPS man has a big mouth and alot of ears to fill I refer him whenever possible) That's a story you'll NEVER hear from a dealership customer.

Dropshot Hook Keep
I use one of the lure wraps that I have on board for travelling at the beginning and the end of the day. (Anything with trebles on it gets one for the ride, I've pulled too many hooks out of my car upholstery, lol) Hook goes on the keeper and wrap the weight to the rod w/ lure wrap Pretty much the same function as Gmans except you don't have to slide it up your rod butt like an elastic.

Holy cow, great job Dee! Looks like we shouldn't have any problem reaching 40 boats! If you are thinking of coming and havn't registered yet, please do so soon to secure your spot for the day. As for Joel,..that's awesome,...now he has a fighting chance Team Low Budget will be represented in force. If the anglers boat is tin or plastic,...they're with me, lol. If it wasn't an "ice out" tournament, we'd probably see an inner tube or 2 also, lol.
