For the last 14 months I have been building a house and thankfully this weekend we moved in. So, with today off from work, I thought I would take a break from some little things that need to be done and hit the river that runs in front of my house. Heres what made it such a great day: So, my trip was actually taking my little girl Olivia who just turned 3 last month on her first fishing trip. Went about a quarter mile down the road on the Clinch River to a hole full of small bluegill. She took her first steps by herself in the fishing section at WalMart. It looks like shes gonna be a natural. I had a blast putting on mealworms and helping her cast and set the hook.

The redneck comment was a joke, lighten up Francis. I saw Kerry run at Myrtle Beach when he was trying to give it a go as well, much like JR. Wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Jeffrey, Kerry's son, will probably be a better racer than JR from what I have heard. And on the Harvick comment, he did earn it. Basically, Sr told Childress that if he didn't hire Harvick (talking about a future ride in RCR) that SR was going to put him in a DEI car. I don't like Harvick, but he impressed SR, enough so, that its basically why he replaced SR.

Congrats. Jr has 3 more wins than Shrub in 5 more years of racing at the big boy level. Shrub also had more wins in his first 48 races than JR has had in his first 48 with Hendricks. I didn't say he was a wreck waiting to happen, its just that he's not an elite person to stick behind the wheel. He an average driver, that tends to have a problem figuring out where he gets his car fueled and worked on occasionally.

If your gonna use charcoal, at least be a man about it and use lump charcoal, not that manufactured stuff.

The difference though is that Kyle and Kurt have both already proven more than JR though and are younger than him. All drive similar equipment. From the sounds of that article, to me it really says something about JR. Gordon, Martin and Jimmy all said their cars weren't good but got them inside the top 15. JRs car wasn't very good finished at the back of the pack. Its bad enough when a guy uses that excuse that everyones pit signs look the same, so he can't find his pit when you look down the row and none of them are the same. Not the same color, not the same number, or sign or whatever. JR is a decent driver, but not a good or great driver. Eury isn't the problem, nor firing him will be the answer.

There was rumor of KOTH going to ABC. I wonder if this means it has legs, or if this is what was actually the deal with Judge. I sure hope KOTH makes a reappearance on ABC.

I don't get that either cart. It might surprise you how much 18 stuff you see around the tracks each weekend. Its just that the boos are louder from redneck, I mean JR nation because of their jealousy.

The smaller Super Dupers will work. A lot of people trout fish with them here in SWVA. I have a few, but their not my favorite lure. I also like using a rainbow trout Yozuri pin minnow, and panther martins. Live bait is always fine, night crawlers or meal worms. Salmon eggs are great in fast moving areas.

Just a note, using a charcoal grill does not constitute BARBEQUE. jk I use gas for convienence. Taste the meat, not the heat. I also have a smoker for ribs and butts and such.
