  1. i hate buying shoes, even though my parents buy them for me they waste fishing money
  2. i've found during the summer bass like faster sinking jigs try a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce denny brauer jig and ragetail craw/chunk but preferablly craw threaded on for now use both jig and craw in green pumpkin. let the jig fall on semi slack line and watch for line jumping. right when the bait hit bottom hop it again and repeat. if you feel pressure while hopping or feel something else strange immediatlly set the hook. even if you think always setting the hook makes you look stupid the lake is private so no one can see except maybe the owners and once you learn the difference between how weeds rocks sticks and most importantly bass feel jigs will be almost all you use and you will almost never set the hook on anything other than a fish. ps i'm bassboy from the ragetail forums.
  3. congragulations tin.
  4. i used gorilla glue for the balast weight because it will never really get pulled but i will buy 2 ton epoxy for the hook hangers. will small screw eyes work as hook hangers they are pretty thick though the arms are short (like half an inch). how much does epoxy ussually cost? is it really expensive?
  5. the bait monkey, he's got me and i live like 40 minutes from wal mart. He keeps on whispering in my ear to buy lures and line and other things that i will never use.
  6. i gotta get some lobsters for denny brauer pro model jigs maybe tw will have them soon. though the anacondas look great too. great job big o.
  7. will gorilla glue work as replacement for epoxy when glueing in a balast weight? what about for glueing in hook hangers?
  8. i have started making a flat faced popper today. i didn't take a picture of the beginning wood because it was piece of scrap wood that was free from tw perry (a wood shop) and i thought this project would be a complete failure , so far i'm wrong . now the carved bait looks like it was carved with a lathe its amazing and all i used was a dull pocket knife and the rotating part of a drill for some very light sanding. i will post pictures soon. this bait is going to be for my dad because i just got him to give in and go night fishing (the earliest he let me wake him up was 3:25 but it was pitch black for about two hours and the lake is rather close.) he litterally had a blast. about 9 times with eleven landed on a jitterbug with a treble hand feathered by me. i used a strike king midnight special and caught seven. this happened in three and a half hours. we caght tons and one went about 6 or seven pounds (for some reason the scale didn't work.) anyways i plan on painting the bait black.
  9. who are you giving it to?
  10. tomorrow i'm going night fishing on a very clear and rocky lake i will use a strike king midnight special on my small fish spots and a 10 inch worm on my big fish spots(i wish i had some strike king football jigs!) does this sound like a good plan?
  11. i prefer ragetails times 10+ over any senko type bait.

  15. got out today with the scale(an old berkley) and got a .19 kilo bass on a jig though it turns out this scale weighs a 1.7 kilo dumbell as 1.5 kilos. i'll post pictures later today or maybe tomorrow. i just need to upload the picture but i don't have much time as i am waking up to fish at 3:25 tomorrow the earliest my parents will let me wake up :'( i hope to be able to fish a jig near the grassbeds at gravelly point and the washington channel on the potomac river.
  16. alright i'll get a scale. then i wont over estimate. :-[
  17. here is a four or five pounder i got from my secret lake on thursday. i got it on a denny brauer jig and rage tail chunk. even though i went night fishing i got in the morning thats about four or five pounds right? while not a big fish for this lake it was the biggest fish i had caught that day.

  22. last saturday i was using a football jig/ragetail chunk and i cast out and was slowly dragging it and then i felt pressure so i set the hook. the bass was about 26 inches long so i let that one go. after getting a little five pounder i hooked another right when the lure hit the water, my line started moving. i set the hook and landed another of about 26 inches. in the end i caught the two monters with about 5 fish of 4-5 pounds mixed in. no pictures because my dad didn't bring the camera. next time i'll bring the camera. should i buy a silver fish bbz for fishing here? anyways thanks for making the best lures ever big o. all fish were released as always.
