The bass were striking it today. I had about six blow ups and landed three. I let the bass take the lure until I felt pressure. I think I just need to continue walking the dog when a bass strikes. Thats what Brent Ehler and *** say to do. It's just hard to get over stopping the bait right when you get a strike until you feel pressure. What types of lures do they have at hookers? Is it a small specialty shop like susquehanna fishing tackle?

first off, I finally bought my first lucky craft sammy. 8-) do you guys have any stories of what happened when you got your first high end (13 dollar plus) lure. also, if you guys don't think high end lures are worth it please post why. if you think high end lures are woth it please post why.

Don't worry dave, the fishing has started to pick up here so it should start to pick up towards saint mary's county soon. it might take a week or two though but it will be worth the wait.

Palomars are what i ussually tie. I guess i'll just try both.

I bought a lucky craft sammy 100 today and was wondering what type of knot I should tie it on with. i was thinking a loop knot.

shallow cranks and spinnerbaits mostly in shad colors though for muddy water go to a brighter firetiger like color. some say you should always use a firetiger or chartruese colored spinnerbait or crankbait to stand out from the other shad. do whichever one you have more confidence in. I personally prefer natural colors.

If you're talking abut the baitcaster it's terrible. It was my fist bait caster and the paint chips, the handle grips get all torn up after a little use, the handle is loose, and the reel feels like it has no power at all. I now have it on the first baitcasting rod I got and use it to play with my cats. What i do is make lures from string and add tin foil for weight and cast the lures around my house to play with the cats.

If I were to buy one rather expensive lure, which one would you guys suggest, a lucky craft sammy 128 or a magic swimmer five or six and a half incher? The main forage where I fish is big gizzard shad.

Paula, the lady at fletchers boathouse told me she saw some guys on the virgina side of the river carrying a sturgeon home to eat. :'( there goes one of the last sturgeon in the potomac.

Trust what Raul said about cranking being a contact sport. lately most of my fish have come from bouncing and pausing a shallow crank off of the nastiest fallen trees i can find.

try the saltwater rods and heavy monofilament because the stretch of the monofilament allows the fish to take the bait without you ripping the bait from it's mouth.

you fish the middle of dc too? where in d.c. do you fish? anyways, today i went down to the spot and saw something slithering and splashing on the surface. I beleive it was a snake eating an eel.
