Where are the left and right spool shaft bearings in a baitcasting reel? My daiwa hyperspeed zillion says to apply the special oil that the reel comes with to the left and right spool shaft bearings after each use of the reel.

hyper speed zillion has a tiny bit. the rod is an old bass pro cranking stick. i'm going to get a zillion flipping stick though.

After some use do all baitcasting reels have their paint chip where you screw them onto your rod?

Basspro says they'll take the rick clunn reel back so i'll get that money back for a zillion rod! Have you heard good reviews of the hyperspeed zillion reel mechanic? It seems really smooth and I used it to catch four bass with a lucky craft sammy today.

I use a baitcaster for everything. I always leave the spool tension as low as I can without the cap falling off and I leave the brakes on zero. It seems to work fine.

well today my bass pro baitcaster broke. I was using a lucky craft sammy when my line just started piling up on my reel. turns out the the line guide would start moving, stop at the edge for some time and then start moving again. for christmas, I asked my parents if i could get a hyperspeed zillion. I asked my dad if I could have the reel now because the other broke. when we got home my dad pulled out a tackle warehouse box and the zillion box was inside. I have spooled it up with 15 pound mono for fishing the lucky craft sammy 100 tomorrow. the bad part is I have to use it on a bass pro shops 7 foot medium power fast action rod which they claim is a crankbait rod. It's got a fast action ;D. I plan on getting a refund on the reel and buying a zillion flipping stick. the bass pro reel was less than half a year old! If any of you guys have a hyperspeed zillion or zillion flippin stick, how do you like them?

yeah, the sammy is great on schooling bass. It would be a shame for it to rust.

yeah, I was just wondering. they never taught us anything about rust in school all I know is that rust is caused by oxygen. and i'm in advanced science.

I was messing around with an old red eye shad which had rust on it's hooks and as i was putting it away my lucky craft sammy slid out of its box. I was admiring the sammy so i tested out the hooks to see if they would grab my finger. it turns out they were sharp but the problem is i was testing my red eye shad's hooks right before that. could the rust spread from the strike king red eye shad's hooks to the lucky craft sammy's hooks?

how do you guys like the giron? i'm thinking of getting one.
