  1. ISatirday was opening day on Toledo and I didn't hear a single shot. Saw one groups of canvasback and some take Canadian geese lol. I have a feeling this is going to be the worst duck season in a long time. Where I hunt (catahoula and around Larto) is underwater. LDWF did a count last week and there were 2000 ducks on catahoula and it normally 100k+
  2. We caught fish from 15-35ft. Found lots of em in 30-35 ft but they were a little harder to get to bite. Caught em on swimbaits, spoons, and dropshots. Most fish were related to channel bends.
  3. Fished yesterday from 8-5. Caught right at 50, biggest being 8lbs. We caught em good until 10, then didn't get back on em until 2. We fished the bank for an hour without a bite, then went back offshore and started catching.
  4. Staying with a Basscat. Found one in MO with 25 hrs, two poles, onix 10's for a good price. Hoping to go get it soon!
  5. I didn't get to go, I'm in the process of buying a new boat. Hoping to drive to MO in a week or two to pick it up!
  6. Glad you like it Little Fish... And I can't wait for LSU-Bama Catt. Should be a good one!
  7. I'm hoping to be up there Thursday. If anyone is fishing, give me a holler
  8. Yes, I've caught many fish punching sylvania. Bistineau is a beautiful lake with some good fish! Look for sylvania around trees close to channel swings and hold on!
  9. Yep, I stayed with Keith this weekend and what he said is right on the dot. Thursday and Friday I had 20lbs or so and 15lbs and the guy I was with missed a STUD! Then Saturday all our deep fish left. We struggled to get a little less than 12lbs. Had one good fish come off that would have bumped us to 14lbs or so and get a check, but that's fishing. Had a blast this weekend, but was disappointed Saturday. Guess I won't be going back to Mountain Home, AR this year
  10. Sniper has a very small line diameter compared to most other brands. I use 10, 12, 14, 16, and 20lb sniper according to what technique. 16lb seems to be my favorite. It is great for football jigs and flipping/pitching IMO
  11. By the way, I'm selling my 2007 Puma/250 ProXS. If y'all know anyone interested send em my way! Looking to buy a new one if I can sell mine.
  12. Between the bridge and patroon on the west bank
  13. There are pads just south of patroon. I haven't fished em lately, but they are there
  14. I fished today. Wind was brutal and the lake was nearly impossible to run across. I launched in Pirates and ran to Housen. Ended up with 12 fish, top 5 maybe 13lbs. Just couldn't get a big bite today. I was wrong FlukeJr when I told you it wouldn't be as tough as you thought...it was
  15. Got my boat back today, going to see how it runs with he grey lower unit on it.
  16. Welcome to the forum FlukeJr! Looks like I'll be out there tomorrow too. I plan on staying shallow for the most part. Throw reaction baits such as traps and burning a blade to get lethargic fish to eat, but it don't think it's going to be as tough as you think
  17. I use Sunline Sniper and seugar tasty. Tatsu is awesome, but pricey. Sniper is the best bang for the buck IMO
  18. I'm just gonna miss you. I'll be there the 3rd, then again the 8th-10th.
  19. I haven't. Earlier this year we text each other every week, but he has kinda went off he map.
  20. I agree with jcdogfish. Humps that have deep water access are better. A hump that is in the middle of a flat may hold some fish, but i look for humps that have a creek swinging close by.
  21. Stud!! Congrats man in the DD! Give us some details!
  22. I use the same rod for 1/2+oz jigs and c-rigs. If you want a shorter rod, the powell max 3d or endurance 714cef is a great jig rod too.
  23. I'm still waiting for a new lower unit to be put on my boat. Hopefully I get it this week!
  24. They will make it right. I'd be ticked too if I payed for a new rod and got a second!
