So Yall Want To Learn Sam Rayburn
Merry Christmas to y'all as well! I fished yesterday and struggled bad. Caught 9 fish and none over 3lbs. I stayed deep all day and never found em grouped up anywhere. Water temp was 61, so I think they are still scattered. Need a couple of good cold fronts to pull em out and stack em up IMO.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
I fished Rayburn today and looked for a winter pattern. Caught a measly 9 fish and no size. I couldn't even find fish on my graph in places they should be. So, IMO, at least on Rayburn, they are not in a winter pattern yet.

What Bait Do You Have The Most Faith In?
If I had to pick just one, it'd be a 1/2 oz jig. I can swim it, pitch it, or drag it. I can fish it in 1 ft down to 35 ft of water. But luckily I don't have to pick just one. My best baits this year was 1. Drop shot roboworm 2. 10 xd 3. Bama rig 4. Jig Most of my fish are caught in 20+ ft of water

Favorite Rod Brand?
I own at least one Shimano, Powell, Irod, Dobyns, St. croix, Duckett, Falcon, Castaway, Allstar, temple Fork, Megabass, Phenix, Abu, and 13. I like the Irod for swimbaits, Powell for bottom contact, Dobyns for crankbaits, and Megebass for versatility. I hate my Criox's and Duckett. The rest all have their place in my Arsenal.

The key to spoon fishing is to have a good plug knocker handy. Spoons will hang up, but 99.99% of the time I can get it back with the plug knocker.

Stupid Mistake Made Me Loose My New Huddleston Deluxe 68...
Earlier this year I took a hudd 68 out of the packaging. Cut off a c-rig and proceeded to tie on the Hudd. Threw it over the side of the boat and watched the tail kick as it sank. Thought to myself "man that thing looks good". Stood up, picked up my rod, and went to cast only there was no bait tied to it. I tied the Hudd to the leader of my Carolina rig that I had cut off. $25 mistake

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
I hear ya. December is always a busy month. We have our adult Christmas Play, Children's Christmas play, youth Christmas party, and next Saturday I'm taking about 25 of the your to Laffeyette to Christmas shop. Add in family obligations and parties and it ain't much spare time. But I plan on getting away to see if the boat will catch some fish on Toledo like the last one did!

The lakemaster chip is better than no chip, but lacks detail on Toledo. Now if you fish sam Rayburn too it's well worth the investment as Rayburn is in HD and has 1' contours. Toledo has 5' contours and is off in quite a few places. As for fishing in the winter...if your a shallow water guy, stay shallow, just slow down. If your a deep water guy, look for sharp breaks next to creek channels with bait.

What Do You Use A Heavy Rod For?
Out of the 40 or so rods in my rod locker, I'd say 30 are either heavy or XH. I throw most everything on them except dropshots, shaky heads, small crankbaits, and poppers.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Yep that was me. That spot had a lot of suspended fish but I never got bit there. I brought an aqua view with me Friday so I was playing with it a lot too lol. I had about a 5 minute window when they bit really good. Caught 10 or so in one 5 minutes and the rest of the day was slow. Really had to slow down to catch the deep fish.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Caught 33 today, top 5 maybe 12lbs. The fish were not active at all! I found tons of fish stacked up on several places but had to work hard to get them to bite. 25 ft seemed to be the key depth today for me.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Water temp is still mid 60s so I wouldn't think they would be in a winter pattern yet, but here is a lot of shad out in 25-35 ft and the bass aren't far behind.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
KKing and I went today. Caught 25, biggest about 4lbs. Fish are still deeper than most think...
