  1. Thanks Ronnie! And I did find a 4-5lber floating dead in housen along with a lot of big shad, white perch, and catfish.
  2. Hey guys, if yall get a chance, come to our 3rd annual Blessing of the Hunt in Deville. It's free and we will be giving away a 4- wheeler, guns, and over 100 door prize. And free food of course.
  3. It doesn't look like carp to me. They don't look big enough to be carp.
  4. Looks like either bass or whites. If you find them like that and can't get them to eat, try a dropshot and a 7/8 oz war eagle jigging spoon. Something will bite one or the other to give you an idea of what it is. If it's whites, they are there for a reason. Most of the time blacks won't be far away. If I'm on a big school of whites, I'll throw a big worm or jig around the outside of the school and can usually find blacks.
  5. No. I have my mapping shading less than 10' red, 10-18' light blue, 18-23' green, and the rest dark blue. On this part of the lake the contours aren't in 1' increments so it shades 15-25' green. The green in those pics is actually a drain running into a big flat.
  6. Went back up to Toledo yesterday. Found a good school of fish early and caught 37 before 8 am. Had a 8 and a quote a few between 3-4lbs. They are on top of humor and ridges early feeding, then after 8 they suspend and become almost impossible to catch. I did find 3 more big schools later in the day but had to work hard just to get a few of them to bite. Most fish were caught on a big worm. And I've had quite a few guys asking what these fish look like on my graph. Here's a couple pics I took last Friday.
  7. I'll have to wait for my tournament schedule to come out, but I'll for sure be there for a day or two!
  8. I finally got a chance to get back up to Toledo yesterday. Fished from daylight until 4 and put 60-70 in the boat. I found fish stacked up in 22 ft of water and every once in awhile they would move on top of the ridge in 13ft and feed. Caught them all on a swimbait and a dropshot. Can't get a crankbait bite to save my life! Biggest was only 4lbs, but it sure was fun to finally find a few big schools again.
  9. If we loose what little hay grass is left, we are in trouble. Those poor fish will get raped next spring!
  10. Go to Sam Rayburn and throw a frog!?
  11. Around cypress Ben and negreet I would focus on main lake ridges and points. Tennessee bay always holds fish. Look for bait and fish in 18-25 ft around points in Tennessee bay. During the day, a dropshot is hard to beat for numbers and a big crankbait will catch size and at night I like to SLOW roll a big spinnerbaits and row 10-12" worms. Good luck!
  12. We are fine here. We've gotten maybe 6" of rain total. Ain't been to bad. Got a lot of people from around here heading south to help flood victims. It's a bad scene down there.
  13. Fished Rayburn is morning. Had 2 good fish wrap me up on a frog in the willows. No bites on the outside hay grass, but got a few way back up in the gnarly stuff. Then I went deep and found quite a few fish. They were hard to get to fire up, but we managed to do decent. Our big fish went 8.43lbs. Most fish were on main lake ledges in 18-22ft caught on a Carolina rig and drop shot.
  14. I'm very picky about my jig rods. Because of this, I have went through dozens of rods to find the perfect fb jig rod for me. If you can find a used one, a Dobyns extreme 784ML jig rod is the one I settled on as my favorite. There is a sponsor on here that can get you one for $240ish or so if you want one. The Dobyns Champion 735C is a great fb jig rod too and can be found for under $200. Also if you like a shorter rod, a Powell Max3d 714CEF is an awesome rod. It's a great fb jig rod and pitching rod. I just wish it was 7'5" or so instead of 7'1".
  15. A buddy of mine and I went to Fork yesterday to check out. I've never been on Fork this time of year so it was fun learning and graphing new stuff. We found a lot of big fish, but they were hard to fire up. We ended up catch about 12 with our biggest going 9.4lbs. The fish were 18-22 ft and suspended about 5 ft off the bottom.
  16. Darold Gleason would be my choice. He is super friendly and can flat out put you on fish.
  17. My best night trip came on a new moon 3 years ago. My top 5 weighed over 36lbs.
  18. Is that on the south Housen bank? Out near the mouth? I've caught some good fish on something that looks just like that there.
  19. june-bug, The past year has fished different for me. I fish Lowes, Springhill, and Slaughter quite a bit and outside of a few decent trips, I haven't done much there this year. Earlier this year I was smashing them from the dam to the mounds, but the midlake bite was tough for me. I did have a few decent trips in slaughter and one in Lowes, but with no grass this year I haven't been able to get on anything consistent. Bad news for me is that I can't even find much on the south end now. Normally, I like the south end until mid-May then midlake from mid-May until September. This year I don't like anything since May lol.
  20. If you can find deep hydrilla right now, it's bound to be loaded with fish! I can't find anything deeper than 8-10ft.
  21. Nice fish Bryan! Wish I could have gotten on something worth catching. I ended up catching 18 Saturday, with my biggest going maybe 3.5lbs. I just couldn't find fish like I had been the previous 3 months.
  22. Fished today. Didn't fish hard, had my wife with me is we just rode around and looked most of the day. Did catch a few schoolers on a jerkbaot and a dropshot and then broke off possibly the biggest fish I've ever hooked in a brush pile on a jig. When I set the hook into her she bowed me over and then turn and ran. When she did my rod broke in half!! I managed to turn her twice, but I would reel her up 4 ft and then she would turn and rip 20 ft back off! Ended up breaking me off on the second run. I don't know if it was a bass, but if it was, I'm positive I would have gotten a free replica today.
  23. Go to your local tackle shop and see if they have any fliers for upcoming tournaments. Also, talk to the workers there, they probably know.
  24. Fill your sink up with water and throw a TRD in it. Then stretch it and rub the salt out and put it back in the sink. It floats much better with no salt.
