The Spros are solid cranks, but I would save a few bucks and just buy some Bomber FFS. These things are awesome and are half the price. For higher end cranks, LC's are hard to beat.

I have fished both ways, with and without skirt. IMO, taking the skirt off frees up the swimbait to move more freely and I think that it looks more natural. I have caught fish with the skirt on, but seem to catch more without it.

Yeah, now that you mention it I think it is. That is probably why I felt the Endurance was different, but I couldnt figure out why. I was pitching plastics with the Max, but the Endurance to too much for em. I think it is still great for jigs, but I guess I need to buy a Max now for plastics...

I disagree...for squarebills I recommend a MH/Mod-Fast rod. It just gives more more power to pull the fish out of heavy cover and it also lets you bury the hooks deeper.

Pflueger Trion is another option. Decent reel for the money IMO.

I had a Powell Max 704C rod that I absolutly loved. I caught numerous fish on it and my biggest so far this year, 8.5lbs. Well, I broke it, sent it back to Powell and they sent me a free upgrade to a Powell Endurance 714C. I was stoked because this rod was suppose to be "better" than the Max series. Anywayz, to my question. Have any of you used both rods (Max and Endurance) and can you tell a diffrence? If so, which rod do you like better and why? Maybe my expectations were too high for the Endurance, but I think I liked the Max series better.

We pay $15 for big stringer and $5 for Big Bass. Its easy, just a $20 bill to enter both pots.

They are advertised as "scentless", so why would they smell like powerbait? They smell alot like plastic to me. The only way they could be better was if they had the powerbait smell IMO.

The space monkey rigged on a 4/0 EWG crawled on the surface over grass can be absolutly deadly. Its a good alternative for a frog, almost a finesse version.

The drag is still adjustable, but you just have more drag power when tightened down all the way. A 10 lb drag system will theoretically take 10 lbs of force before it starts stripping line, whereas a 24 lb system would take 24 lbs of force before it starts stripping line. Of course this is only with the drag tightened down as tight as it will go, otherwise you can set either system to 8lbs or 5lbs or whatever you like. The advantages of having a stronger drag is so that you can tighten it down to haul fish out of heavy cover with big line without slipping. Also, it is good for frogs in thick grass to keep their heads turned your way and coming to the boat.

Its a solid floro. Make sure your knots are tied right though because knot strength is its only weakness. It has some memory, but Line and Lure can take care of most of that. It is very abrasion resistant and has very little stretch (at least compared to Invizx). Just make sure you pull on the tag end of your line when tieing your knot or else the knot will break.

For floro, you should not go above 8lb on a 2500 spinning reel. Anything bigger will be unmanagable.

Yeah, maybe Im out of the loop, but Ive never heard of that either. Either way, KVD has to perform when the tourny begins and he always does. Look at the Classic. Martins, Remitz, and VanDam were all back there fishing together, but KVD figured em out quicker, thus leading to a win. He is just 10 notches above the field.
