  1. Ive never heard of this, but Im pretty sure its tight to the stock. Maybe I will try this in a month or so when I get em out to sight in again.
  2. The .308 is a Remington, Im not sure what model. Its fairly old, I would say 40 years or so. I dont shoot it much because of its inaccuracy. The 7mm is a Tikka and it is bad to the bone. Of course Im not shooting 50 rounds through the same hole, but at 300 yards my grouping will overlap one another and occasionally hit the exact same hole. It is ridiculous. I love that gun.
  3. I have had great customer service from BPS in the past. When the Carbonlite first came out, I bought one and the thing snapped on me within a month. Brought it back and they exchanged it no problem. But, here recently it hasnt been as good. I bought a crankin stick a while back(3 years or so) and it broke on me this spring. I brought it back to them and they said it was nothing they could do because it was an older model Cranking Stick and all they had was newer models. They said they couldnt give me credit without a receipt adn I couldnt exchange for a different model.
  4. Ive tried. Ive shot Hornandy, Winchester, Remington, heck, I even shot some crap that my brother ordered online. It seems to make no difference. Regardless of what I do, that gun will not shoot accurately. And I have a feeling its not the shooter. I shoot all the time and it is nothing for me to shoot the same hole at 300 yards with the 7mm Wthby Mag or even at 500 yards with a .223, but this dang .308 cant group at 150.
  5. Maybe... ...I been lookin for reviews on them and Cashion rods, but they seem to be hard to find. All I know about Big Bear rods are the grips are suppose to be awesome.
  6. I looked at the ballistics and the only gun that stood out was my 7mm Wthby Mag. The rest of them are close to the same, you are right. For some reason, my .308 is so inconsitant at 150 yards and out that it would be impossible to shoot anything at that distance. In my case, my 30.06, 7mm, .243, and my brothers .270 are much more accurate. 7mm Wthby Mag is still the bomb.com tho.
  7. I have this rod also. At first I hated it because it was very tip heavy, but now that I have gotten use to it, it isnt a bad stick.
  8. I dont plan on using a swimbait often on this rod, but I would like it to be able to double and throw it if it had to. My only concern about buying the Cumara right now is that the new Crucials look to be the old Cumara and will be much cheaper. Should I wait it out and just get teh new Crucial? Im probably goin to be gettin a new Crucial Reaction series rod too. Still hard to fight off the Dobyns though. I have a Savvy and love it. What do ya'll throw with the 733C? I already have a Powell 714C and a Savvy 734, so I would like to buy a 733.
  9. Used em, they are decent, but for the price ($10) I much rather a spro or LC RC baits. I actually rather the RES over the clackin lipless too.
  10. Lipless cranks are probably the most versitale crank out there and one of the most versitale baits period. They can be fished slow or burned, deep or shallow, yo yo or straight retrieve. A great summer pattern here in LA is to throw out a lipless, let it sink on a semi tight line and when you feel it hit the weeds, rip it up and do it again. This can be done in water as deep as 25ft around here and it seems to almost always produce.
  11. Craw t-rigged with a 3/16 tungsten weight. Wtml/Red and Junebug!
  12. A super fluke, like many other baits can be thrown on both, but the 50E will probably handle it a little better. JMO
  13. I use the spool tension alot. I can cast with everything off, but I seem to get more distance with some spool tension and 2 brakes on because I can put more into the cast and not have to worry about the "professional overrun".
  14. Agreed...the Lightning rods are pretty good at that price point. Just hold both the Lightning rod and shock rod and buy whichever feels best.
  15. I buy Flambau exclusively. I get them on sale every year at $14.99 a dozen and they seem to hold up pretty well. I have 13 blinds to decoy each year and 5 of em have to have 300+ decoys so cheap is good. I still have some Flambaues from 6 years ago that I use. By the way, all my lake decoys stay on the water all season and they still last 4-6 years so they are fairly durable. My pothole decoys are picked up after every hunt, so they last until I just feel like buying new ones.
  16. Live like nobody today so you can live like nobody tomorrow!
  17. Beat him at his own game. The reason beavers are so productive is that they glide on the fall instead of falling straight down. Use a different lure, but with a similiar fall. Try a 5" Senko with a 1/16 oz tungsten weight. It will glide to the side just like a beaver. Also, a lightly weighted tube or a keel wieghted rage craw will probably outfish him.
  18. The 200E7 works well with hollow body swimbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, frogs, ect. Heavier baits that you throw a farther distance. The 50E is better for flippin and pitchin, shaky heads, weightless worms, wacky worm, ect. Lighter baits and closer distances.
  19. Thanks guys I appreciate all the info. I was origanally leaning towards the Dobyn 734, but I wanted to compare it to the Big Bear, Cashion, and Cumara. Anyone have any experience with the Big Bear or Cashion. The Big Bear grip seems cool, but Im not too sure about the blank and the Cashion just seems like a great rod.
  20. I use the baby rage craw on a shaky head and it can be DEADLY! The Rage Craw is my personal favorite and I use it t-rigged with a 3/16 oz weight and a 4/0 EWG hook. The Rage Lobster is great with a weighted hook too.
  21. Ok guys I have a little over $200 to spend on a new rod for t-rigs, spinnerbaits, and hollow body swimbaits. The problem is there are so many options and I want em all . I dont have the chance to put many of em in my hands before ordering so I need some opinions. I am looking a the Cashion 7'3" MH/F, Loomis GL2 893CJWR, Big Bear Micro Spiral 7'3" MH/F, Dobyns Champion 733 or 734, Cumara CUC-X72MH or CUC-72MH. Like I said, I havent narrowed it down too much because I have no prior experiences with any of these rods, so your experience matters.
  22. I would recommend a MH rod for squarebills if you fish em like I do...in the thick stuff.
  23. Should suite you just fine...
