  1. Also just found a Quantum Code for 68.88 at TW. ANy thoughts?
  2. Thanks all...I was thinking a 7' MF rod too and I forgot all about the Lamaglas Excel! I held one once and loved it. O.K. so Im pretty set on that rod now, but what about reel! I got $50 left. Is that enough to purchase a decent spinning reel? I was looking at the Pflueger President, is it worht anything? Also, any other suggestions for $50 reel?
  3. O.k. so I figured all $100 rods would be good such as the Vendettas, Buccos, and Mojos, but what action do I need for shakeyheads and dropshots L,ML,M,MH?? I dont even know where to start. I will look into both these reels, but what am I looking for in a spinning reel? What sets one apart from the other?
  4. I got $150 to spend on a finesse rig. I need a rod and reel that I plan on throwing shakey heads and drop-shots on. I have never owned a spinning reel, so Im clueless as to what is junk and what is good. I want my rod to be asap (as sensitive as possible) and my reel to do the job. Suggestions???
  5. I will agree that a Yellow Magic will out perform a Rebel Pop R, but to be honest, its not tha much different. And I am a firm believer in the Storm Chug Bug, that thing has caught more fish for me than all other poppers combined!!
  6. My biggest question is can my Packers keep Aaron Rodgers on his feet and off his back. He is rated the top fantasy QB this year! Also what about the Titans? Imagine Vince Young and Cris Johnson at the top of thier game running some option or reads. Or will Young run off again and go home to mommy? ;D
  7. T-rigged Rage Craw (wtml. red)
  8. I use Spro Frogs, so Im not real sure about the Scumfrog, but I just take the hook out and bring it to a tackle shop and find a hook one size bigger.
  9. Anything YOU catch is a dink... Anything I catch is a hawg... ;D
  10. Take out the hook and put in a bigger one and bend the hooks away from the body.
  11. I think i know Roxi. Was she Hawiaan? ;D
  12. IMO braid is your problem. 1. Braid reduces distance on your cast vs. mono. 2. Braid has zero stretch, so when you do get a strike you will pull it right out of the fish's mouth. Accuracy wise, it just takes practice. That thing is super light, so you have to guide it into spots. With the right setting on your reel and some practice, you can do it tho. What power/action is your rod? I wouldn't fish it on anything heavier than M.
  13. My general rule of thumb... Thick vegetation-Frog Scattered vegetation or stumps-Buzzbait Open water-Spook (walk the dog) When short striking buzzbait-Popper
  14. Definatly harder to win AOY because you must be consistant on different bodies of water and in different parts of the country. That being said, The Classic is still more prestigious in my book because its like the superbowl of bass fishing. WOuld you rather win a superbowl or a MVP award as a quarterback?
  15. How the heck do you fish a tailess grub. It looks like a turd!
  16. I usually throw them on my 7' Carbonlite M rod with a Curado and 12lb Suffix Seige. I have also recently learned that there is no wrong way to fish one. I always twitch it and pop it and had success, but the other day I was fishing with a buddy and he simply burned it and caught fish! I had never heard of that, but it worked. Great bait!!
  17. NO!!!! Suffix "new" 882 braid is AWESOME as is the older Suffix braid. I bought one pack of Samurai Braid and it broke several times and was alot harder to manage.
  18. Well that clears things up...
  19. Dont EVER come to Louisiana!!!! I have seen hundreds of black widows and brown recluses and one turantula!! The turantula freaked me out, but I am used to the other two...
  20. We got a TR 196 with a 200 HPDI and it will run 72 empty and 68-70 loaded. It starts to walk pretty bad at about 65 though.
  21. I can detect the slightest nibble on plastics, but with a jig I am CLUELESS!!! Your probably right, I am getting bit and not even realize it.
  22. I LOVE to fish plastics (big worm, RAGE craw, ect.) and I have caught thousands of fish doing it, but I hardly ever catch fish on jigs. I was wondering what is the main difference between fishing the two? And how do you know when to throw a Brush Hog vs. a Jig?
  23. Lord of the Rings (haha...thats really 4 of em') Shooter Blue Streak Anchorman Shutter Island
