  1. I will be there March 5-6 so hopefully we get good weather...my club tourny is the 6th!!
  2. Alright, so I bought a Carbonlite last month. I was so excited to fish it because it felt so great in my hand. First trip out, no fish on it and it snapped in half while casting a 3/8 oz Spinnerbait. Piece of junk if you ask me. I'm driving back up to BPS this weekend and will get a new rod or my money back!!
  3. March 27th sounds much better to me. I will be there and bring my boat and a partner. Also, I think trailoring to launch is a much better option. Just meet up somewhere for weigh in, in fact, just across the Pendelon Bridge there is a Marina that would be a perfect central place, not real sure of the name of it though. $20-$25 sounds great with $10 optional big bass. Maybe meet somewhere early, pay money, then trailor to whatever launch. And with 15 people, I dont think that we really need anything fancy, everyone just bring weigh in bags and someone bring some scales.
  4. Im interested...need a little more details, but interested!!
  5. going to work when I know I could be fishing!!
  6. Im with Craiger, I like that creature bait!!
  7. Bill Lewis Ratl-Traps are great when ripped through grass and burned over the top of grass in early spring. I rather the Strike King Red Eye Shad tho because the seem to be a little more weedless due to the wight being shifted more towards the front which allows the body of the bait to protect the hooks a little better. Although, most strikes are gonna be reaction strikes, so I dont think it matters to muh between brand and color, just preference I guess.
  8. I recommend to take it out to the lake and drive it, and DEFINATELY get the motor checked by a mechanic. Make everything is firing right. This could end up saving you ALOT of money later on.
  9. Im with Catt...hook a chunk straight through the chunk, but with longer baits, thread the hook through the longer part of the body
  10. I would recommend the Pflueger Trion too. I love these things and for $100 you cant beat it. Yeah, the Citica is probably a good fit too, but the Trion will out cast it and will reel smoother also.
  11. No love for Pflueger...I love my Patriarch and Supreme!! Oh yeah, and for $100, the Trion is hard to beat!!
  12. Fishermans cove is a great place to stay and around April, I would fish in Birch creek and Glade creek. I will be there April 7-11 so I will let you know how I do and what I caught on ect.
  13. My dad went Salmon fishing last year and was not catching anything. He pulled up next to a boat that was tearing into em and noticed WD40. They were spraying their bait with it, not saying it made the difference, but they caught fish while my dad didn't.
  14. I hate to order stuff too, but even worse than ordering is to buy something that you dont like just because its convenient. If you dont like the feel of the KVD rod, DONT buy it. I have bought rods because they were a little bit cheaper only to have to go back and get the more expnesive one later because I knew I didnt like the cheap one. I say give the Lamiglas a chance.
  15. When I was young before i had a boat, my cousin and I found a big piece of styrofoam on the bank of Toledo Bend and decided to fish off of it. We paddled that thing all the way across Sam Miguel only to get caught in a storm and had to swim it back. Spent 10 hours paddling and swimming and about 10 minutes fishing... ;D
  16. Central Louisiana. Forage:Shad, Bluegills, and Crawfish Dec.-Apr.:Crawfish May-Dec.:Bluegills and Shad
  17. Dang man, sorry to hear that. I once had 5 rods and reels stolen...one of them being a NEW CALIAS...I understand the feeling. Hopefully them thieves get CAUGHT!!!
  18. I have been looking at the Lamiglas Excel Crankin rod also. It looks and sounds great. The Carot Stick is starting to have problems with broken rods. I know three people who have broke thier new Carot Sticks in half while fishing this past year. The KVD rod is too heavy for me. I looked at it also, but i stayed away because of the weight. Thats just me tho...
  19. Sounds like to me you need two seperate systems. For less than $300 I would recommend the Fish Eagle 320. It retails for $130, but you can find it on sale time to time for $99. I would install one in the console and one in the front. I have the Fish Eagle 320 and the Hummingbrid 565 and the Fish eagle is a million times better IMO.
  20. Man if I could find deals like that I might not be broke right now!!!! ;D ;D
  21. Congrats man... And Im headin over to Fork April 7-11, so hopefully I can get bit too!!
  22. Thanks Catt, I appreciate it!
  23. Thanks Catt for all the information you share. I only get to fish the Bend 5-6 times per year, so its hard to know exactly what the fish are doing when I get teh chance to go. I will definately have those five rigs on board. Another question: The places I know the best are Lanan, Louisiana Islands, Solans, and the mouth of San Miguel. Which of these places would you target first in March?
  24. didn't realize how fortunate I was until I started thinking of all the stuff I have...and I'm just 21. ;D 19 ft. BassCat Pantera II-Johnson 150 14ft. jon boat-6hp Evinrude 15ft boat-20hp Mercury
  25. sorry...tbird is right MH Medium not fast... but regardless...St. Croix Premeire Crankbait rod
