Yokohama. Japan has Prefectures. I believe a Percecture is a district that is within a City. If you go to the Japan EMS Site and enter your Tracking #, it will tell you the Perfecture that it was shipped from.

I just bought the same spool for my XT1000 and it's going on a Loomis CR721.

Hootie, You should have no problems with Japan Tackle and you will have to sign for it.
  6. I don't ever remember any post on this forum where people are putting down or looking down on a person that has only one rod or uses only one rod. I have posted that when I was a kid, I only had one combo, and back then, I referred to it as my rod and reel. If you only have one rod and reel, no one is bothered by it.
  7. Yes! The XT1000 is a sweet little reel that's for sure. If you haven't read it, check out the Tackle Tour review of the XT1000. If you don't know your way around TT, from their homepage, click on review archives and scroll to the bottom where the JDM gear is.
  8. It's smoother. When I turn the handle on my XT1000 and then my CU50E, the XT1000 has a feeling of smoothness and connectivity that the CU50E doesn't have.
  9. The XT1000 is a better reel out of the box than the CU50E so maybe the new Scorpion will be to. I wouldn't count on it because the XT1000 is also a better reel out of the box than the Scorpion XT1500's. Hootie, one of the reasons to buy a JDM reel is it's about owning the JDM version of its USDM counterpart. Even it they are identical in appearance, the Scorpion is JDM and the Curado is not. If that doesn't matter to you, buy the Curado.
  10. Anybody ever fish John Chestnut Sr. Park in Palm Harbor? That is the only place that I fish. It's all covered up in alge now except the big pond part. I caught 5 at the park last week on a mixture of Flukes and Yum Dingers.
  11. I would look for the older silver colored Calcutta 100. I sold one a while back on eBay that was in new condition and I think it went for around $112.00. If you are patient, you can find one in really nice condition for under $100.00.
  12. Maybe another Antares HG. Another Scorpion XT1000 would be nice. I have also been wanting a Conquest 50 DC or another Conquest 50. Right now, I need to get some rods to finish things up.
  13. I am not upset about them raising their shipping costs. Every time they send me something, it's in a box and it shipped via UPS. There is no way they can ship from California to Florida for three bucks and I don't expect them to lose money on me.
  14. Seaguar Tatsu It would be my go to brand if I could justify it and I can't so that is why I have been using Sunline Sniper FC lately.
  15. I look at it like this........High end rods/reels are not magic wands that automatically catch fish but they sure as heck bring me enjoyment when I am using them and for me, that is all that matters. More so the reels than the rods. I can be content with a Loomis IMX but as long as I can afford it, high end reels are all I am going to buy. Note! An exception has to be made for the little 50 size low profile Shimano's (Curado and Scorpion XT1000). They are not high end but they sure are sweet!
  16. On the Shimano Website it says that you need to buy a complete handle assembly and it's discontinued. The Curado 50E knob seals are 99 cents apiece and the part# is 4150. Last time I bought from Shimano, the shipping charge was a flat rate of $6.00.
  17. On the JDM websites, they are called knob caps.
  18. I am usually either straight braid or fluorocarbon and I always use a Uni.
  19. A quick Google search with the words Quantum Smoke Bass Resource brings up a Quantum Smoke Thread from 2011 that you participated in. LOL
  20. Are those still being made? I remember back in the day that the talk on this forum about the Smoke was that on paper, it should be a very good reel, but in real life, it just didn't live up to the hype.
  21. $133.00 plus $25.00 shipping. I took a beating on that rod. LOL
