What Gun For Concealed Carry??
I have been carrying legally in Fl since 98 and my carry guns have evolved into what I think is the best carry combo yet. I started out with a Colt Compact 45 then a Glock 30 and then a Glock 21. I work at night and I always use an outside the wasteband holster so I need a gun/holster combo that my work shirts conceal easily and I need comfort. After years of carrying guns that were either to big or heavy and trying various plastic leather and nylon holsters, I think the Glock 19 and Safariland 5197 combo is the best there is. 15+1 and very concealable and very comfortable!

Medium Light Casting Rod
The ratings for the ML Tatula are the same as a Loomis MBR782 and MBR842 and they have a line rating of 8-14LBS. The two Loomis's are Medium/Fast. With the Loomis's, a 50 size Shimano will toss a 1/4oz lure with no problems. My point is it seems as though the Tatula is maybe not really a ML but more of a M.

How Dumb Can One Man Be?
I was just thinking about this the other day while listening to Rush! To think that this man is actually voted into Office as a lawmaker in the U.S.A. is scary.

Your Very First Baitcaster Reel?
A Shimano Bantam Mag Plus 250SG. This particular reel is my very first and I got it around 1982 IIRC when we moved to a new house that had a creek behind it.

Baitcasting Question
noobpro, you sound as though you cast the same way that I do. I personally don't like setting up my reels to the point that I need a lot of thumb to have a successful cast. For some rod/reel/lure combos, it may be 2 brakes on and 4 off or 3 on and 3 off. The cast control knobs on my reels are set with less tension than Mr. Glenn recommends but that works for me. I feel that I get great distance the way that my reels are set up. The last thing I want to worry about when I fish is backlashing. I have played around with my reels with no brakes on and a lot of thumb and end the end, the distance was no better that normal settings because I had to use so much thumb pressure that it negated the no brake settings. I would rather cast with just a little thumb pressure and know that I am good to go than cast for the moon and hope that I don't get a backlash.

Curado
Maybe your cast control knob is too tight.

Casting Distances
Don't believe the hype in what anyone says about their casting distances IF they haven't measured their casts or IF they are not casting to an object and they actually know the distance. WRB is right...go to a football and cast and you will learn real quick that 150' is a lot farther than it seems.

What's The Shortest Casting & Spinning Rods You Use?
A shorter rod tends to have a shorter rear grip and for me, the shorter rod translates into more control over the lure.

What Rod For Weightless Plastics...whats Everyone Using?
Throwing a Fluke with 4/0 or 5/0 EWG hook is very doable even with a Loomis MH/F and it's easier with a M/F. Senko's and Trick Works are also easy. Reels are Calcutta 100, Conquest 100, Conquest 50 and other 50 size Shimano's. Mostly with 3 brakes on and 3 off with the 100's and 2 on and 4 off with the 50's.

What's The Shortest Casting & Spinning Rods You Use?
I used a M/F 5' 6" Berkley Lightning Rod the other day for top water. No problems with distance either.

Short Casting Rods
I have 2 of the Loomis CR723's. If you follow eBay, you can find the CR722 IMX's at good prices. They are used but most appear to be very nice. I bid and won one for around $125.00 a while back and it would have been a very nice rod but the clown never sent it to me. I did get my money back from eBay in the end. The 722's always are very popular on ebay.

Short Casting Rods
Loomis makes their 'Classic Casting' rods. They are all full cork 6' models.

Spooling Baitcaster...10Lb Braid...need Feedback.
I just put 20# on a baitcaster and I have had zero problems with it. The reason I believe is because the line was put on very tight. I will be trying 15# or maybe 10# next.

Shimano Ci4+Fa, Stradic Fj, Or Other Spinning Reel?
If I was in the market for a Sustain 2500, I would not hesitate to buy this. The seller has a great rating and I only use PayPal. I would avoid buying from Vietnam etc. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Model-Shimano-Sustain-2500FG-Spinning-Reel-SA-2500FG-SA-2500-FG-/331169840117?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d1b42bbf5 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Sustain-2500FG-Spinning-Reel-6-0-1-SA-2500FG-/360766875404?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53ff61a70c

Most Versatile 7'0" ~ 7'3" Mh Baitcasting Rod ?
If you are deciding between these two rods for T Rigs and moving baits like spinnerbaits etc, get the 843. I have both in IMX and the 844 is probably my favorite rod but with the 843 you can fish lighter baits better and still throw a 1/2 oz spinnerbait with no problems.

Most Versatile 7'0" ~ 7'3" Mh Baitcasting Rod ?
G-Loomis MBR843C IMX or GLX. I am talking about the last model IMX with the full cork grip. If I were to buy one rod and it's a MH/F 7 footer, I am getting the 843 GLX as my do a bunch of things rod and do them well.
