Respooled - Problem - knots
I guess I'm just bringing my scissors with me when I go out on Wednesday. It's casting awesome though, at least until I get a knot.

Brady Down...
Wilfork was getting tackled from behind last year, not as bad as the hit on Brady. That being said, are they supposed to sit there and let him throw? Neither of the hits to me were a cheap shot, but Wilforks was less of a cheap shot but he got fined because he was a Patriot. The league plays favorites.

What did you catch your PB on?
I have two that were about the same size (both 3.5 to 4 lbs). One on a white/red yum tube with rattle tube head, left a white tube in with tequila sunrise powerworms to get a "bleeding" effect when the colors ran. The other one was caught on a watermelon zoom trick worm, texas rigged with a bullet weight.

Casting/Jigging Spoon Question
Those hooks look like they'd be fine for a straight drop jig, but I think a treble would be much better if your going to casting as well.

Respooled - Problem - knots
OK, respooled my cheap spinning reel with 30lb Suffix braid. Used it before. Have some mono on as backing. I'm getting knots in the braid after a few casts. Did I spool on too much braid or did I spool it on too loosely? Or maybe screw something up alltogether? That being said, between cutting out about 30 ft of expensive braid I got a nice two pounder, so even an aggravating hour out tonight was productive.

Yum Buzz frog problem vs. other brands?
Went out for about 45 minutes tonight, threw on a frog because it was about dusk and partly from reading this thread. My frog rolled (Manns Hard Nose) on first cast and the bass basically hooked himself. 2lber. I think the rolling only increases your chances of snags if you have some hook exposed but I don't think it impacts the action or hooking percentages of the bait.

Det. Lions' season over!
Someday they will have to fire Matt Millen, someday....

Brady Down...
What's this "secret recording" everyones talking about. Don't see how a guy walking around with a big camera in broad daylight is "secret". Stupid - yes, secret - no.

Yum Buzz frog problem vs. other brands?
I've heard some people using a weighted hook to stop the rolling.

Hey Burley & video game gurus
With the price of the 360 dropping I'd probably do that over a PS3. XBox live is better than anything PS or Wii has. A new cable should improve the graphics though on the PS2. Gamecube games look fine on my Wii and bigscreen, not sure how much a Wii can upgrade the gamecube graphics but gamecube and PS2 graphics are comparable. Wii's not a hardcore gaming system but the sports titles for it aren't that bad.

Hey Burley & video game gurus
If you have kids, go with a Wii.

Brady Down...
I can only think of Buffalo besides the Pats with a chance to win the division now that Brady is hurt.

08 Season
The other thing about Harrison - nothing about it in the media. Radio silence. It reminds me when Favre got caught and went into rehab, quick brush under the rug.

08 Season
I think the guy who was shot changed his story - not sure how a guy who was shot by a multimillionaire could ever change his story. :

Yum Buzz frog problem vs. other brands?
Start cranking right before it hits the water to get them up. None of them float that I know of. A swivel (heavy duty) may keep them from rolling. Also make sure the hook is centered.

Kayak Striper Madness (pics)
Nice fish. What you catch them on?

Football Question
Gene Upshaw - deceased head of the players union. The league loved him, a lot of former players did not.

08 Season
Detroit - how bad is their run defense? Atlanta ran wild on them. Indy - how did Marvin Harrison get off of that shooting charge in Philly? At first I heard the person shot ID'd him and it was Harrisons gun, and they found it hidden in a bucket at Harrisons car wash and then no charges?!?! Pats - NBC just said Pats are bringing in Chris Simms, not a good sign. SD - they have to beat a Steve Smithless Panthers if they want to be considered one of the elite teams Jets - I am so sick of hearing about Brett Favre and I hate the Jets. Put them together now and I might have a stroke before week 3. Tennessee - is next year the year they draft another QB?

Brady Down...
They'd get more than that from Matt Millen. So is that a "The Day the Earth Stood Still" quote or an "Army of Darkness" quote?

Brady Down...
Pats can win without Brady, Brady throwing to guys like Patten and David Givens in the Super Bowl years isn't much different than Cassell throwing to Randy Moss and Wes Welker. What they really need is someone to step up on D, Seymour and Adalius Thomas need to really earn their salary this year to make up for the secondary. Secondary is weak, but they won a Superbowl with Troy Brown at corner so if they have a pass rush they will be fine.

Who's your Superbowl picks?
Pats - Packers

A funny experiment with scents....
Also, we don't know what's going through it's mind. I could be, "yum, that smells good let's eat it" or "my god, that smells rancid, let's kill it" when it strikes something. It could also not sense any smell at all and see a trail in the water from the scent wearing off and mistake it for blood/fluids emanating from an injured creature.

A funny experiment with scents....
Scientists recently stated they've discovered that people have a sixth taste - calcium - on top of the previous new discovery of the fifth - unami or savory. These go along with what we knew for ages - sweet, sour, salty and bitter. http://www.livescience.com/animals/080820-acs-calcium-taste.html If we were unable until recently to know this about people, who are able to communicate what they sense, I find it highly improbable that we have any true idea what a bass can or can't taste or smell/can't smell.

One thing to remember though, what you use as a scent eventually disipates into the water, so don't use anything too nasty/pollutive.
