How to replace foam handle on Stradic Ci4 and order the replacement?
do yourself a favor and skip the foam knob and get one from a Metanium. if you want the foam one, PM me, I have the one I can send you with the red cap (no bearings).

Shimano aldebaran 50 help
this is a great reel, it should cast great. try one internal brake, very low on external and a lot of thumb. i have one internal brake on with both of my Aldebaran 51s even when throwing 1/4oz baits.

Tips on casting with fluoro?
what line and reel and bait weight? does your reel have internal and external brakes? are your internal brakes actually all off and you think theyre on? kvd l&l will help but its not the main cause of your issue if youre using decent FC. if i am respooling, i hit the reel with it prob 3 times as i am getting towards the end. after that i just spray the spool as i turn it, nozzle close to the line and watching to make sure the entire spool is wet. works for me, if you have the patience to unspool a cast length and spray several times im sure thats better. some people spray a non abrasive rag and run the line through.

Baitcaster for plastic worms????
tighten down your reel until it cannot backlash. slowly loosen up to get distance.

Balance vs. Overall Weight
its very important to me. a heavier balanced rod is less fatiguing after 8 hrs than a considerably lighter unbalanced one in my experience. I traded an NRX 873 for a MB FMJ for this reason (and because i dislike the grip) and I am glad I did! My NRX 842c is well balanced and my 843c is a little unbalanced but not too bad.

Favorite Holiday?
the next federal holiday on the calendar is always my favorite. the others are just days.

9.9 hp bassboat
not sure why. its either an unstable 14-16"ft jon, which i am used to, or a more stable and equipped "bass" boat where it will take a while to get there. getting there is less than a couple of miles, 90% of the time. id say 80% of the lakes in my area are electric only anyway. i also never fish tournaments as its not how id want to spend a precious free day on the water but i think theyre great for the sport. looking at a bigger boat for the potomac

Need a nice jig and worm rod
a used GLX BCR 803c would be perfect

20 Lb bass
why not? the largest bass in the world has probably never been caught. try a big perch colored swimbait. drag it sloooooowly on the bottom. get a well balanced big bait rod if you have big bass in your area. whats your budget? look at the Onager. a heavy fast rod and braid should do if you dont want a dedicated XH.

Line Color: Which Is Best, Or Does It Matter?
color the first 6 ft of your hi vis yellow braid with a black sharpie if only to make you not think about it. clear, green and gray mono and FC is what i own. i have not noticed a difference in lightly stained to muddy water in these 3 colors.

Senko/trick worm/fluke rod - M or MH, length?
a med xf spinning rod would be my choice. flukes on BC with same specs. just personal preference. like side twitches on the light BC and up and down twitches and shakes on a spinning combo. grab a MH if you are fishing cover.

Jig Fishing Questions
id recommend a MH fast or XF for any jig over 1/4oz in any kind of cover. 1/4oz arkie jig with a small craw style trailer is a great bait to build confidence with. ive caught from a 3 inch bass to a 7 lb LMB bass on this type of jig.

Search Bait?
to me a search bait is reeled in at a med or fast speed and can be fished in shallow or med depths. TM going at a fast walk or jogging speed. in the past i would have said spinnerbait and lipless. today ill tell you skirtless chatterbait with keitech fat for muddy/stained water and keitech fat on jighead for stained/clear water.

Bank Anglers
really depends on how far you are walking and how heavy the brush is. car is parked 100 yds away? - all your rods. on a wide hiking trail, take as many rods as you can comfortably carry. bushwacking for 2 miles? - 1 or 2 combos. a med/xf spinning and a MH/fast BC can handle 75% of my fishing.

New shimanos
get the 70 curado. if its like the scorpion, its a bad ass reel. casts better than my old Curado 51, Aldebaran '09 and Core 51. palms better than the Aldebaran '16 in my hands (although not smaller). holds as much line as my Mets. then when the 2018 comes out get that too.

Rods/reels for kayaking- there can be only 3!
i have the same boat. you should check out the rudder. the backpack and and bow cooler are way overpriced but worth it IMO. i usually carry 3-4. i choose depending on where i will be fishing and what i plan on throwing. might do this on an unknown lake: Med XF spinning (NRX 852s) - finesse, light jig/t-rig Med Fast (NRX 842) - trebles, small paddletails MH Fast (MB Daemos) - single hook moving baits, 1/4-3/8oz jig/t-rig plus plastic Heavy XF (MB FMJ) - jigs, t-rig to cover, small swimbaits, frogs
- Phenix or Loomis?

KVD line & lure
ive never used KVD (or other line conditioner) on braid. i use it on FC and mono every time. what benefits does it give braid?
-
Does anyone else run braid on their spinning gear and mono on their baitcasters?
i have braid, FC and mono on my spinning reels and also on my BCs.
