Anyone coming up to Champlain to fish this next weekend?

She is legally allowed to keep 5 bass a day in the state of VT. While I strongly encourage catch and release she is following the rules. It was out of season so she put it back. We all know that despite our best efforts a small % of fish that are released may die, so why is it bad she keeps some for the dinner table. All though if I added up the money I spent on fishing, I could probably have quite a few prime rib dinners instead of a SMB

She was asking what the state rules were. All tournaments in VT are 12" minimum as well. And if you weigh in a limit of 12" fish on Champlain, you might as well not weigh them.

The daily limit is 5 bass a minimum of 10" in VT.

In VT we can't have a tournament until the regular bass season opens on the 2nd Saturday of June, the 13th this year. Our club had two paper tournaments this spring, and it was a real good time.

Thank you very much Big O, I really appreciate that. It is very important to me with 4 boys to try my best to be a good dad and set a good example. It is also important to try to give each one of them some individual attention. To say that Nate is on "cloud 9" about his fish would be a minor understatement.

Yes it is a beautiful spot. It is where my kids go to Cub Scout Camp. Word got around at camp that I had caught that fish and kids from other packs were calling me the "Bassmaster" Fun little lake to fish with my canoe.

Hard to beat the senko. That is what my son caught his first bass on one today. Lots of ways to fish them.

Great idea. Our club is having 4 weekend tournaments and 3 weeknight tournaments to try to get as many people participating as possible.

If the Triton is exactly what you want, then go for it. My friend just got a 2007 TR186 this spring and it is a great boat.

Our club has some week night tournaments to try to give everyone a chance to fish some events. If you look around you may find a club that does similiar things.

No matter what really happened on day 1 & 2 there is no excusing what Langill did on day 3. After that I don't think he has a leg to stand on as far as any lawsuit goes.

I joined to learn more about different techniques. It is also great to meet other anglers and club tournaments are a lot of fun. I have made friends that I would not have had I not joined. If you go on to nybassfed.com you will find clubs in your area.

Yes get him started. A worm and a bobber from shore is the way to go, although a short trip on a boat will be a blast for him. Just be patient, cast for him and focus on just him. I have four boys, and they all started young. When I take them out we fish from shore, and it is all about them. I rarely bring my rods. My wife and I focus on them having a good time. Also, once he even seems to not be having fun, call it a day. You don't want him to get bored and not like fishing. We have gone fishing for less than an hour before. Keep it simple, and keep it fun, lots of snacks, and oh yeah have fun

No, I wish I was rubbing it in. We came in last in our 4 hour tournament. My friend and the partner he drew caught 50 bass in the same time we were out. I had a great time though.

Our club had a paper tournament on Champlain today. I have not caught very SMB before to be honest, but this one was 18 1/2". We did not weigh it, but the chart we had for length to weight for the tournament said 3 1/2 lbs. We did not have a great day 9 bass in the boat between my partner and myself. All my fish were on a white and red 1/2 oz spinner-bait. Man is it great to be on the water or what?

I live in Orwell which is on the VT side across from Ti. I usually fish the southern part of the lake.

I went out on my friends new boat today. We did not really whack em, but we had fun. Caught about 10 in 4 hours. This was the biggest of the day.
