  1. Depending on the condition of the Nitro, I don't think that price is to far off the mark. There should be some wiggle room with that price though.
  2. You should be able to get a good used fiberglass boat for that price.
  3. Good luck, and most of all enjoy it !!!!
  4. Thanks for the info, I know that $300 is not a lot of money when you think of it that way. It is just a lack of confidence to step up to a higher level of tournament fishing.
  5. I have just been discussing this subject with a fisheries biologist with out state F&W dept. He said that LMB will move until they find suitable habitat, up to 5-7 miles. He also stated that SMB wil return to their home range. They will travel 10-12 miles a day up to about 100 miles to get back.
  6. If you go on to the bassmaster web site they have a break down of the point distribution. It is the same anglers all season long on the elite series.
  7. I am thinking of giving it a try as a co=angler. I would fish the Northern Open on Champlain. $300 is still quite a bit of money to me though.
  8. We normally go from 7:00 to 3:00.
  9. There is a launch near the campground, but I would not use it unless you have a very small boat. It is a gravel launch and very steep. I have not been to that launch in about 3 years but I doubt it has changed. There is a launch on Otter Creek on the road down to the campground near a marina, but I don't know if there is a fee. There is a public launch near the dam in Vergennes or near the mouth of the creek on the other side. You have to go all the way back to Vergennes to get to it. If you want more info PM me.
  10. I keep telling myself, next year. I have been saying that for about 3 years now. Probably more like in a couple of years, but I am still holding out hope that next year will be the year.
  11. KVD & Horton for me.
  12. I have a motor mount that puts the motor just to the left of the boat. Works pretty well for me. I have had it for so long I don't remember where I got it though.
  13. I just fished my third tournament today. I am new to tournament fishing. I'm having fun so far, but not performing very well.
  14. It is just a shame that the classic will only be in the south or maybe out west with it being at the start of the season. As the elite just showed they can come up with good weights on lakes like Erie and Onieda. I am sure there are plenty of good waters to have the classic in the fall.
  15. I wish they would go back to having the classic at the end of the season instead of in the winter. They are limiting the possible locations by having it so early.
  16. I have been in both brands of boats, but not the particular model you are looking at. The Triton seems to be more comfortable in rough water and better storage.
  17. What is the big deal. They are brining back the Northern Opens and you can compete as a co-angler in that. Maybe they will bring back the Western Opens for you guys on the left coast. You can still be a co-angler on the Walmart tour, oops I mean FLW.
  18. The Vermont Bass Federation is having an open tournament Sunday July 27 on Lake Champlain out of Chimney Point in Addison VT. It is the launch on the VT side of the Crown Point Bridge.
  19. I am jealous, I hope to find a nice used boat like that some day.
  20. My almost 4 year old caught his first blue gill a couple of weeks ago. It was almost as much fun watching him catch blue gill as catching bass myself. My 5 year old had caught 4 blue gill and announced he only needed 1 more to get his limit. Can you tell his Dad talks about bass fishing alot.
  21. "Light" and under $400 for a new canoe, is not likely to happen. I have a 14' Old Town canoe with a flat bottom. Great for fishing out of. It weighs in at 59 lbs. I can load it on top of my suburban by myself, but it is not easy. If it did not have the luggage rack on top, I would not be able to load it solo. By the way it cost nearly $600 14 years ago. I have seen some inexpensive canoes at Dick's and Gander Mtn. stores, but I do not know how much they weighed.
  22. Great job. I was on a route a couple of years ago that I could take my lunch break on Lake Champlain. I used to get in about 30 minutes of fishing every day. How I miss that route :'(.
