  1. Currently in 3rd with our two day club championship this weekend. I have to finish 1st and have the two guys above me finish no higher than 4th to win AOY. I hope I can pull it off, but if I had fished better earlier in the season I would be in better shape. I won our last two tournaments to get in the hunt.
  2. I guess our fish aren't that athletic up here. I have never seen a fish jump out of the live-well. Sorry to hear about that, guess I will have to think twice the next time I check the fish in the well.
  3. That's cool, I would be impressed even if they "only" had 39 lbs for 2 days.
  4. I have not heard of any 50 lbs 2 day bags. Not saying it is impossible on this lake, but I would be very impressed. Especially this time of year.
  5. Sorry to be blunt, but there are several of them. There was a two day championship for Southern VT Bass. Their winning weight was just under 39 lbs for two days. Check this out: http://vtbassforums.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=location&action=display&thread=175
  6. There are over 160 tournaments on Lake Champlain this year. You need to be a little more specific. What date, where was it out of, who put it on, and I may be able to get the results for you.
  7. I believe that is a fallfish, some people call them dace.
  8. Depending on how deeply hooked the fish is; you can safely go up through the gill plates with a pair of pliers and remove the hook with little harm to the fish. Have done this multiple times and have not had a fish die from it. I have only done this with LMB, don't think it would work to well with SMB though.
  9. Yes you can, it just might take you a little longer. I have not been through yet this year.
  10. Please don't waste your money on that book
  11. PB = Personal Best
  12. I say join a club and fish when you can. I think if you explain your situation, most clubs will welcome you whenever you can fish.
  13. You mean he really is human???
  14. We allow guests to fish one tournament. It is a great way for a prospective member to figure out if the club is right for them.
  15. Our club had a paper tournament this weekend. I did terrible My friend and his partner caught over 30 fish in 4 hours, the 5 best weighed 17-7. He caught them all on lipless cranks
  16. I was at the BPS in Foxborough a few weeks ago, I don't know what you guys are whining about with that store. Would love to have something like that with in reasonable driving distance. I will agree that is hard to beat Tackle Warehouse though.
  17. Here in VT we can target bass catch and release only starting the 2nd Saturday in April. The ice is off Champlain in most places and will be off the inland lakes soon. We can't start having tournaments until the 2nd Saturday in June. We have some paper tournaments during the early season, but it is not as much fun.
  18. Great question, one that my club has been thinking of as well. Does anyone on here have advice???
  19. I would start here, I hope this helps www.ctbass.com/
  20. I don't know as though I can answer that question. Our club embraces non-boaters. I am the president of my club and I am a non-boater. I think there are plenty of clubs that are non-boater friendly.
  21. "Now to get to the "sport" argument, my grandfather used to say that anything you can do while smoking a cigar and drinking a six pack is not a sport. This rules out golf, bowling, fishing, and a few others we call sports. I am not saying I agree but he did have a little bit of a point." I have played basketball with a beer in my hand, that does not mean that I was able to play my best
  22. I feel that there is not much argument that KVD, Rick Clunn, and Roland Martin are the 3 most dominant BASS anglers of all time. Roland Martin's 9 AOY titles may never be matched, even as great as KVD is. Yet, Roland Martin never won a classic. Rick Clunn's 4 classic titles may very well get matched maybe even surpassed. Clunn only has 1 AOY title. In my opinion (for what that is worth) KVD's 5 AOY titles to go along with 3 classic titles and he is only 42 years old, he will certainly be considered the best of all time by the time he retires. Even if he called it quits today, it would be a great debate.
  23. I wish they would move the classic back to the end of the season. I don't like that it is limited to being in the south only. OK maybe California too. I want to go to a classic again, just don't want to go to Alabama to see one.
  24. He lost because KVD caught five more pounds of bass than he did. Not because of some comment he made.
  25. Yeah, most of my fantasy team. Just glad I don't have any money on it :
