  1. 1/0 for the 4", 2/0 for the 6". I actually buy the Gammy B10S stinger hooks, tie on a small fiber keeper. It makes a great drop shot hook for a lot less money.
  2. I understand where you're coming from. But with that logic, no one would use a new company's products. It's always worth a try!
  3. Looking for some tips for bass in Early October. I've never been there before. Any advice as far as areas, techniques, water conditions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. I always use a leader for my finesse setups. I'll buy gliss in 50 and 80 when it come out.
  5. I've had the same 24lb gliss on my drop shot rod for the last 2 months with zero issues. I use about a 10ft fluoro leader.
  6. Welcome to the forum! I would say that the reason is because your rod is too light for the baits you're trying to fish. You should use a rod built for such baits. I suggest a 6'6" to 7' MH fast action Rod. The reason it FEELS heavy is because the rod is simply underpowered. You might want to consider bumping your line up to between 14-17lb test. Get a heavier rod. Good luck!
  7. Buy yourself some River2Sea Bully Wa II's. They have a separate air compartment that keeps the frog on top.
  8. Both good rods, but i personally prefer ducketts.
  9. I read this post and said out loud, "Why didn't I think of that???" Thanks!
  10. Do they have one? I'm referring to the terminal tackle company from Japan. I can't find it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
  11. Bass pro has a backpack built for fisherman. I own one. It fits three 360 sized containers, but I use the 4-21's, which are very thin but still hold a lot of baits and I can fit six or seven of them in there.
  12. FLW in general doesn't impress me. Same lakes every year, poor coverage, TV shows air in the fall, months after the events themselves. I mean, I'd still fish the tour if I qualified, but still. Haha!
  13. That's a loaded question, brother! I've only ever fished it in late April. Always caught them on Jerkbaits, spider grubs, and cranks. I'd vote a bandit 200 in spring craw, or maybe this time of year orange/brown craw. Strike King 3XD in a similar color. Spinnerbaits or Jerkbaits ripped/burned in shad patterns. Drop shot anything. Lol. Good luck!
  14. I use an Albright. Hasn't failed me yet.
  15. Fair view lake, pecks pond, porters lake, Wally.
  16. They're going to Toledo Bend?
  17. I would say so, either launch at National Harbor or Smallwood. I might have to marshal those two events.
  18. I heard from a very reliable source that the Elites are going to fish Cayuga and the Potomac next year. I also read that there was going to be some sort of event in the Lake Placid area next year. Any thoughts?
  19. Has anyone ever used the Duckett White Ice 7'11" for flipping, particularly between 1-1.5oz? Looking for feedback. Thanks!
  20. Gold Key Lake in Dingmans Ferry has a healthy bass and walleye population, as well as panfish. You wouldn't be far from Wallenpaupack, Shohola, or Fairview. I grew up in Milford and there are some good lakes around the area.
  21. I have a HB 798 si unit on a portable transducer mount for my little 14' Jon. I have it hooked up to a small 12v Cabelas brand battery (the small 5lb one). The unit recently started shutting off after about a minute of use. Sometimes it will stay on for five to ten minutes, then shut off. I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help would be great! Thanks!
